Chapter 435 Apologizing In Person

After the examination, it was confirmed that everything was fine with Clarissa. The bruise caused by the rope and the impact from hitting against the wall would be healed in two days' time. As for the baby, he was safe.
However, in order to prevent accidents from happening, Amy still prescribed her some medicine to stabilize her uterus lining. She told Clarissa to stay in the hospital for the time being and not to go anywhere to avoid accidents.
After that, David came in to invite Amy for tea.
Amy knew that the couple must have something to say to each other, so she was obliged to not to be the third wheel and went out happily.
Anderson helped Clarissa onto the bed and tucked her in. He said in a deep voice, "Take a rest to stabilize your condition the next few days. You're not allowed to go anywhere."
Clarissa nodded, took his hand and asked him to sit down.
"You should take a rest too. Also, let Amy treat your wounds."
Anderson nodded.
"Take a rest first. I'll let her handle it later."
Seeing that he had agreed, Clarissa finally felt at ease.
Anderson lowered his body and planted a kiss on her forehead. "Go to sleep!"
After that, he tucked her in. After he made sure that she had fallen asleep, he left.
The next day.
When Clarissa woke up, it was already bright outside. She narrowed her eyes slightly, and then stretched out before sitting up.
Anderson was already awake. Clarissa got out of bed and went to the window. As she looked outside, there were workers on the lawn downstairs, mowing the lawn on a sunny day. The atmosphere was peaceful and harmonious.
After washing up, Clarissa went to the living room.
Anderson was sitting on the living room sofa with a laptop in hand, reading some materials. She walked over and patted him on the shoulder from behind.
Anderson turned off his computer subconsciously and turned his head to look at her. "You're awake!"
"Yeah." Clarissa did not notice his movement. She lifted his clothes and looked at the bandaged wound.
"How are your injuries? Won't it be affected when you sit like this?"
Anderson chuckled.
He took her hand and let her sit on his lap. He said, "How fragile do you think I am that you think I will be hurt while sitting down like this?"
Clarissa blushed, but she thought he wouldn't joke about something serious like this, so she changed the topic.
She caressed her stomach and said, "I'm hungry. I want to have breakfast."
Anderson nodded and led her to the restaurant.
Anderson's ward was a presidential suite, so there was a living room and a kitchen.
Breakfast was brought over to them early in the morning by a nurse. Nora had also rushed over here this morning. After finishing breakfast, she came in to meet Clarissa.
With Nora around, Anderson felt much more at ease.
At this time, the doctor came to take him for an examination, so Clarissa let him go with peace of mind. Clarissa then had the chance to talk to Nora.
They were sitting on the sofa and talking. Unexpectedly, David rushed in and said that Elicia had brought Lia here to ask for her forgiveness in person.
Clarissa was stunned and a little surprised.
However, since they were already here, she had no choice but to see them.
So she agreed.
Not long after, Elicia brought some of the members of the Ethanbez family here including Lia, Bowen, Luke, Yasmin, and so on.
Clarissa was startled by this scene.
At this time, Anderson hadn't come back yet, so she could only deal with them by herself.
"Elicia, Bowen, you're here. Please have a seat."
As soon as Elicia entered the room, she grabbed her hand with a worried face. She first sized Clarissa up and found that there was no obvious injury on her body. Then she said, "Clarissa! Are you alright? We are so worried about you. How are you? Are you hurt?"
Clarissa was at a loss of what to do seeing how enthusiastic Elicia was towards her. She could only shake her head awkwardly. "I'm fine. I'm not injured."
"Really? That's good. I'm glad that you're not injured."
After that, she started to curse, "It's all Issac's fault! Even if he wants to get himself killed, he shouldn't have dragged us into his affairs! Fortunately, you're all right. If anything happens to you, I'll make sure the Everett Family pay for it!"
Elicia's words made Lia, who was standing next to her, turned pale.
"Lia, why are you still standing there? Why aren't you coming over and apologizing to Clarissa?"
Clarissa looked at Lia beside her.
In fact, in her opinion, this matter had little to do with Lia.
After all, she was the daughter of the Ethanbez family and Yasmin's mother. Even after she married Issac, the fact that she was a member of the Ethanbez family was set in stone.
Although Lia was implicated in Issac's misuse of funds scandal, at most, she would only be expelled from the Ethanbez Group.
However, she still had a daughter so there was still hope for her, so she probably would not do something stupid like that.
Clarissa pursed her lips and said in a low voice, "Elicia, this has nothing to do with Lia. She doesn't have to apologize to me!"
When Elicia heard this, she didn't persist anymore. After all, she knew that it had nothing to do with Lia. She only brought Lia here out of courtesy.
To be courteous towards Clarissa was the same as extending the courtesy to Anderson. Only then the two families would be able to maintain their long-standing relationship and peace.
"Clarissa, it must be hard on you for such a thing to happen to you. Don't worry, the police are investigating the matter now. We will not let anyone who has harmed you off!"
Clarissa nodded.
Next to her, Lia threw a death glare at Clarissa. In the end, she could not help but ask, "Clarissa, you said Issac was killed by his accomplice. I have a question for you— what did his accomplice look like? Where was he standing when he killed Issac? Why did he kill Issac?Tell me!"
Clarissa frowned.
"I didn't see his accomplice. They said that his accomplice killed him with a sniper rifle, so I don't know what he looks like. As for why? I guess that he didn't want to be exposed, so he killed Issac to keep his secret."
"You are talking nonsense!"
Agitated, Lia began to raise her.  Next to her, Yasmin had been tugging at her, but she completely ignored her. She pointed at Clarissa's nose and snapped, "Obviously, it was you guys who killed him! The coroner's autopsy report is out, showing that his fingers had been trampled on and broken when he was alive, and that he even broke two ribs!"
"You are so cruel! Yes, he kidnapped you, he did something wrong, but you didn't get hurt, did you?
Why did you kill him after you had already beaten him up? Do you know that he is the only son of the Everett Family? If you kill him, what will happen to the Everett family in the future?"
Lia's shrill voice echoed in the room. Clarissa frowned and said in a low voice, "As I said, we didn't kill him! The person who killed him was his accomplice!"
Moreover, he only had himself to blame for ending up in such a state.
Clarissa didn't know the Everett Family, nor did it have anything to do with her. What did the future of the Everett Family have to do with her?
However, she did not say these words out loud out of respect to Elicia.
But Lia was not willing to back down.
She said angrily, "You're lying! Do you think I don't know what kind of tricks you have up your sleeves?"
