Chapter 682 A Successful Operation

Charlotte was so angry that her expression changed. Sue was afraid Charlotte would lose her temper again, so she quickly explained, "It's not what you think, Charlotte. We just happened to run into each other a few days ago. No one is trying to fool you. Really."
Marty didn't want to irritate Charlotte at this time.
Therefore, he followed up to explain, "Yes, indeed. Besides, we meet many people every day. How do we know who has a connection with you? I can't call you every day to report it, right?"
His tone was tinged with grievance as he spoke.
Upon hearing that, Charlotte couldn't help but laugh at the thought that Marty felt wronged.
"Well, you always have something to say. I can't win you. Alright, I won't mention it again, okay? You can do whatever you want. I can't control you anyway."
After she finished, she walked aside and sat down, feeling sulky.
At one point, the atmosphere became very awkward.
Marty glanced at Sue as she shook her head helplessly.
In the end, he had no choice but to go to Charlotte. "Okay, mom, we are wrong. But don't you even trust me?"
Charlotte remained silent. She seemed to be still agitated.
Marty then placed his hand on his forehead as if he had a headache.
Just then, the light on the operating room suddenly went out.
Despite their conflicts, they were all staring at the room from the corner of their eyes.
Everyone was unexpectedly in high spirits and leaped to their feet as soon as the light went out.
A doctor came out soon after.
"Who's the patient's family member?"
Marty and Charlotte hurriedly stepped out.
"I am!"
"I am."
The doctor glanced at them. This was a public hospital, and everyone seemed to always be in a rush.
Therefore, the doctor did not know Charlotte and Marty. Even after the operation, he had no time to think about their identities.
After that, he said in a deep voice, "The operation has been a huge success. The patient is no longer in risk, but his legs and ribs have many severe fractures. You guys should pay more attention to him. Don't let him move too much in the near future. Just lie in bed and rest for half a year."
When they heard this, they immediately breathed a sigh of relief and were instantly relieved.
"Thank you, doctor."
"Thank you so much, doctor."
Then, the doctor waved his hand and said, "The patient has not yet awakened. You will visit him when he is transferred to the ward. The nurse will tell you about the rest."
Upon hearing this, they nodded rapidly.
A nurse pushed a sickbed out not long after.
Buckley was still in a coma at this point, and his face was pale. Marty and Charlotte's hearts immediately tightened when they saw this.
Sue, who stood behind them, was taken aback when she saw him lying in the hospital bed.
Buckley was everything to her in her youth.
She admired and loved him deeply. She even regarded him as every woman's dream guy.
Therefore, except for him, she couldn't care less about anything else at that time.
In fact, she thought he was single.
She had no idea that Charlotte was his girlfriend.
If she knew...
She believed she would never do such a thing.
Actually, she was unclear about the incident that night. Did anything happen between Buckley and her?
She only realized she was lying on the bed that was supposed to be for Charlotte when she awoke the next morning.
On the other hand, Buckley stared at her with a surprised and strange expression on his face, as though he had never seen her before.
She was wrong! She shouldn't have liked him to begin with.
What's more, she shouldn't have been drinking when she found out Buckley was going to marry Charlotte. Also, she shouldn't have done such a shameless thing while under the influence of alcohol, which was harmful to all parties.
That incident not only hurt Charlotte and Buckley, but also hurt her.
Over the years, Sue stayed abroad alone and reflected on herself every day.
She felt as if thousands of bugs were gnawing at her every time she recalled that night.
After a twenty-six-year separation, Buckley appeared in front of her again.
However, Sue was surprised to find that she didn't seem to care as much for him as she had in the past.
Everything she had done before was like moths darting into the flame. Now, they seemed to be nothing more than a joke.
Sue stood there, his heart teeming with conflicting feelings.
The others, on the other hand, were completely unaware of the change in her mood.
Everyone heaved a sigh of relief when they learned that Buckley's operation was successful.
They all followed the sickbed and went to the ward.
The sickbed was then pushed to the VIP section.
Those people were previously unaware of Buckley's identity, but they soon knew about it while managing his registration.
Knowing that he was the chairman of the Blaine Group, everyone did not dare to neglect him.
In the ward.
Marty and Charlotte were both waiting in the ward when Buckley was put on the bed.
Seeing this, Sue felt that there was no need for her to stay here any longer since he was fine.
After all, she had spent the day in the coffeehouse chatting with Charlotte.
As for the rest, they would have to sort it out on their own.
Well, not everything had to be said.
To put it simply, the rest was up to fate.
She couldn't do anything if they didn't believe her and didn't give her a chance.
With this thought in mind, Sue said goodbye to Marty.
"Marty, I'm relieved that your dad has awoken. However, I have a matter to attend to and have to leave now."
Although Marty didn't know what was going on between Sue and Charlotte, he could tell that Charlotte didn't want her to stay here.
As a result, he nodded when Sue said so.
"Okay. Do you want my driver to send you?"
Sue shook her head.
"No, thanks. I drove here."
Marty didn't persist after hearing this.
After she left, Marty turned around. He then sighed as he looked at Buckley on the hospital bed.
"Have you informed Roland that Dad is fine now?"
Charlotte was stunned for a moment, then realized she had forgotten about it.
Therefore, he immediately asked Marty to call Roland to inform him that Buckley was safe.
Roland couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief as well when he received the call.
Fortunately, Buckley was fine, and the company's situation remained under control. Now that there was nothing to worry about, he didn't have to rush to the hospital right away. Hence, he promised Marty that he would go over after work.
