Chapter 898 We Will All Fall

As Jara spoke, he poured himself another cup of tea. "Uncle Poick, send Mr. Mills out," he said after a mouthful of tea.
Hearing that, Uncle Poick walked in from outside and looked at Isaac with a conflicted expression.
"Mr. Mills, please."
Isaac stared at Jara.
"Alright. I'll leave now," he responded after a few seconds.
After that, he turned around and left.
However, he abruptly came to a halt as he approached the door.
With his back turned to Jara, he added calmly, "I know I can't help you in this situation, but Emmeline is not only your girlfriend but also my friend. So I'll do everything I can. Don't worry. I'm not going to drag my family into this, and you can't stop me from thinking."
After he finished his words, Jara didn't say anything.
Only then did Isaac strode away.
Jara, on the other hand, remained seated.
After a while, he took out his phone and dialed a number.
"Maxi, I have something to discuss with you. Please put your husband on the phone."
......
Clarissa had been extremely busy during this period of time.
Energence International Crop had recently announced plans for a new film, and Teddy was the director.
Therefore, throughout this time, she was preoccupied with selecting actors for the movie with Teddy.
Teddy had been working on this film for a long time, and he did not want to use any of the existing actors in the entertainment industry for the time being. Hence, he decided to hold a public audition.
As a result, the workload grew significantly.
As the main investor of the movie, Clarissa would naturally attend as a judge.
She had just finished her work and was on her way home when Jara called.
When she heard what he said over the phone, she furrowed her brows and asked, "What's up?"
"It's an important matter, and you can't make the decision. Put your husband on the phone."
Clarissa sneered.
"I'm sorry. He's not here. You can call again another day."
After that, she directly hung up the phone.
In the front seat, Nora was driving.
Seeing that Clarissa hung up the phone in a bad tone, she smiled and said, "Who? Why are you so mad?"
Clarissa rubbed the gap between her brows, a little worn, and replied gently, "It's Jara."
Nora was stunned.
Previously, the two of them fell into the hands of human traffickers when they were gravely injured on the plane. Jara was the one who had saved them.
Hence, Nora knew about some of the happenings between Clarissa and Jara.
Not only did she know, but Anderson was also aware of the overall situation. However, he didn't get to the bottom of it, possibly because he didn't want any discomfort in his heart.
However, they had not spoken with one other since the last time they met.
Why did Jara suddenly contact Clarissa today?
Although Nora thought it was weird, she didn't give it much thought.
Soon, the car arrived home.
Clarissa was now a mother, and she had always cherished her family. Every day after work, she looked forward to getting home the most, eager to meet Anne and Marf.
It was time for Marf to be mischievous now that he was two years old. None of the servants in the house could keep an eye on him.
On the other hand, Anderson was too occupied with work to stay at home and keep an eye on Marf, let alone Clarissa. Furthermore, their parents had recently been in poor health and had been recuperating at the old house. Thus, they were even less likely to come over.
Clarissa didn't want the kids to disturb them, so she didn't ask for assistance.
Fortunately, Marf was quite attached to his sister, even though he didn't listen to anyone else.
He would always listen to Anne's words.
And that saved Clarrisa a lot of trouble.
The car slowed down as it approached the gate. As soon as the kids heard the car engine outside, they bolted out the door.
Their eyes lit up when they saw Clarissa come out of the car.
"Mommy! "
The two kids rushed up to her and threw themselves at her.
Clarissa was so surprised that she couldn't help but chuckle. "Calm down. We will all fall if you push me too hard!"
Then, Marf replied in a childish tone, "Hehe. Wouldn't it be fun? We'll all be lying on the ground!"
Hearing this, Clarissa couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"What? Are you sure you want to lie on the ground?"
Marf was amused.
But he did not find it wrong.
Wasn't it relaxing to lie on the ground and look at the beautiful blue sky?
Why were Clarissa and Anne laughing at him?
However, he didn't give it much thought.
After, Clarissa picked him up and held Anne's hand. "What did you two do at home today?" she asked as they entered the house.
They immediately reported to her in full detail.
Clarissa walked to the living room, put Marf down, and joined Anne in playing the game she had not yet finished. All were in a good mood.
The phone, on the other hand, had not rung since she had hung up.
Yet, she did not seem to care. After all, Jara had always seemed weird and inexplicable to her.
It was perfect now that he wasn't bothering her anymore.
In fact, it wasn't that Jara didn't want to disturb her anymore, but he could tell Anderson wasn't present by her tone. As a result, he decided to call her again the following time.
So, her phone rang again while they were having dinner.
Clarissa took it out and looked at it. She couldn't help but frown as she noticed the caller's contact.
"Who's calling?" Anderson sat next to her and asked.
Clarissa paused for a second, but she didn't keep the truth from him.
"It's Jara. He's already called this afternoon. He mentioned he wanted to talk to you about something, but I'm not sure what it is."
Upon hearing her words, Anderson darkened his eyes slightly.
"Give me your phone," he said, his voice husky.
Clarissa was taken aback by his response.
After all, she knew that Anderson and Jara did not get along as their families had conflicts in the past. In addition, Anderson found out about Clarissa's relationship with Jara later on.
So why was he willing to answer Jara's call now?"
As if a bird landing on live wires, Clarissa was shocked.
Regardless of how startled she was, she did as she was told and handed him the phone.
Anderson took over the phone, but he did not answer it in front of the kids. Instead, he went outside to pick it up.
Still, Clarissa was unbothered. After he left, she told Anne, "You can't just eat vegetables, Anne. You must eat some meat."
As she spoke, she put a piece of meat into Anne's bowl.
Although Anne was less than ten years old, she was almost 1.6 meters tall, thanks to Clarissa and Anderson's superb genes.
At this age, she was already aware of the importance of maintaining her appearance.
