Chapter 890 Tinged With Guilt

Emmeline stood up and hugged Yunne.
"Emmeline, you're here! It turns out that you're fine. You have no idea how terrified I was!"
She cradled Emmeline in her arms, trembling with fear.
Emmeline held Yunne in her arms, her feelings complex and tinged with guilt.
Yunne was simply an ordinary girl who had probably never been kidnapped in her life.
This time, Yunne was implicated because of her.
As a result, she felt extremely guilty. She gently patted Yunne on the shoulder and murmured, "It's okay. Don't be scared."
Yunne whimpered and looked up from her shoulder.
"Emmeline, what is going on?" she questioned as she wiped her tears.
Then, Emmeline glanced at Grayclouds, who was still standing by the door with cold eyes.
"It's nothing. Don't worry. You'll be fine."
After noticing that she was looking at him with an unfriendly look, Grayclouds shrugged his shoulders, turned around, and left.
Shortly, Emmeline signaled for Yunne to let go, then walked up to the door and shut it.
She returned her gaze to Yunne after she was certain that no one could hear her anymore. She first inspected Yunne to ensure she was not wounded or harmed. Only then did she feel relieved.
Walking up to Yunne, she took Yunne's hand and sat beside the bed. "How are you? Have you been hurt in the past two days? Did they make things difficult for you?"
Yunne shook her head.
There was a look of lingering fear on her face.
She pretended to be calm because she was afraid that Emmeline would be worried and feel guilty.
However, she had no idea that the more she acted like this, the more Emmeline felt sorry for her.
Then, she shook her head and said, "I'm fine. They just locked me up. They didn't beat me or make things difficult for me. They just refused to tell me your news. That's why I'm so worried."
Emmeline's heart ached so badly as she saw Yunne cry.
She calmed her by stroking her hair. "Don't be scared. Everything is fine now. It's alright."
She spoke as she gently patted Yunne on the back.
After a while, Yunne looked at her with obvious concern on her face.
"Emmeline, who are they? Why did they bring us here?"
Emmeline frowned and pondered for a moment. She decided not to tell Yunne the truth so as not to frighten her.
Hence, she just gave a brief explanation, "They are from another organization. They caught me for some personal matters, and you were brought here by accident. They will not harm you if there is no accident. Don't worry."
Yunne quickly shook her head.
"I'm not worried about myself. I'm just concerned about you..."
Emmeline smiled.
"Silly girl, you don't have to worry about me. Have you ever seen me suffer losses at the hands of others?"
After some thought, Yunne agreed with Emmeline.
Therefore, she gave a bright smile.
"Emmeline is the world's most powerful person. Nobody can beat her!"
"So if there is a chance for you to escape, you must run. Don't think about anything else." Emmeline nodded and comforted her.
The smile on Yunne's face froze.
"I am their target, so I most likely can't go for the time being," Emmeline explained, ignoring her reaction. "I can't beat them no matter how good I am at martial arts. But you're different. Remember. I'll find a way to get them to let you go. You will go to the castle as soon as you leave to find Jara and inform him of my current situation. Don't be hesitant, okay?"
Yunne's expression immediately changed when she heard that.
She quickly shook her head and said, "No. I can't leave you alone."
Emmeline frowned.
"You're not leaving me alone. You should go out and ask for help first. It's better than being trapped here together."
As she talked, she peered out the window, which was completely dark. She felt as if there was an invisible pair of eyes staring at her in the endless darkness, leaving her with no place to hide.
She had no idea why this place made her feel so insecure.
Keira had died for her. As a result, she couldn't let anything bad happen to Yunne.
Everyone's life mattered. She couldn't risk anyone's life for her.
Thinking of this, she pursed her lips and suddenly turned to face Yunne, muttering. "To be honest, the man who just sent you in is most likely my brother. We could have been separated when we were younger. We haven't seen each other in a long time. He's always wanted to find me, but I can't accept him because of some old grudges."
"There may be some complications in this matter, and you don't have to grasp it. All you need to know is that he won't kill me. So there's no need to be concerned about my safety."
"All we need now is for someone to spread the word. Go see Jara once you leave here, and he'll figure out how to save me. Okay?"
Yunne looked at her in a daze. After a long while, she nodded.
"Alright."
After a brief pause, she said, "But... how am I going to leave?"
Emmeline pondered for a moment.
In fact, she couldn't be certain that Grayclouds wasn't lying to her.
Those vague memories did, however, resurface in her thoughts. If her memory was right, their relationship was extremely likely to be true.
The reason he had brought her here might not be as easy as he claimed, but she was confident that he would not kill her for the time being.
Grayclouds, on the other hand, was eager for her to admit their relationship. There must be some other reason.
As she thought about it, she muttered, "I'll come up with a solution. At worst... I'll pretend first. In short, I won't let him win."
Speaking about this, she looked at Yunne and whispered, "Everything depends on you when you leave. You must ensure your own safety."
Yunne nodded heavily.
After that, Emmeline did not let her leave for the sake of their safety but instead let her stay in the room to rest together.
The next day, it was already morning when she woke up.
Yunne woke up earlier than her. At this time, she had already cleaned herself up.
Seeing that Emeeline was awake, Yunne said, "Emmeline, you're awake! Do you want to clean up first?"
Emmeline nodded.
She then entered the bathroom after Yunne had already squeezed the toothpaste for her. After washing up, she looked into the mirror.
Not knowing if it was an illusion, but she felt strange as she stared at herself.
