Chapter 41 Evelyn
David had already opened the car door for her and asked respectfully, "Mrs. Jordan, where are we going now?"
Clarissa turned to look at the safe in the backseat.
After a while, she said flatly, "Let's go home first!"
After returning to Estdal Manor, Pattie saw David bring back such a large safe and thought that Clarissa had bought some precious jewelry.
She went forward in a hurry and took it with joy. But when she went upstairs and opened it, she only saw a very ordinary necklace inside.
Although the necklace was a little delicate and the emeralds looked precious, it didn't seem to be so valuable that it needed to be kept in a safe!
In fact, Clarissa was also a little embarrassed.
David prepared a safe because he thought that her mother's effects would be very precious, and it would be better to keep it in a safe.
But it seemed that they all thought too much.
Clarissa laughed. However, when she thought that she had finally got her mother's remains, she felt very happy.
She stood in front of the window and looked at the back of the emeralds carefully under the sunshine.
There were two small letters on it, which were the abbreviation of her mother's name.
Her mother died suddenly and everything in the Chapman family was occupied by Lara and Lena. The necklace was the only thing her mother left for her.
Thinking of this, Clarissa felt warm in her heart.
She walked to the mirror, took off the silver clavicle necklace she usually wore and wore this antique necklace.
Fortunately, the necklace was exquisitely made. Even though its style was a little antique, it was not strange to wear it.
She smiled, put the emeralds into her clothes and covered it with her collar. Then she patted herself on the chest with satisfaction, turned around and walked out.
In the afternoon, Clarissa went to the Starlight Cculture.
She had got the company for a few days, but she had been busy in the past few days, so she didn't went to the company until that day.
Before she went there, she had called the person who was in charge of the company and told him that she would go there.
When she arrived at the company, it was two o'clock in the afternoon.
The person who received her was Matilda Lane.
Entertainment companies were different from other companies. Most of the employees were actors in entertainment companies, so there were only a few employees who stayed in the company everyday.
Moreover, Starlight was on the verge of bankruptcy, so no one was willing to work here anymore. They all knew that Starlight had been purchased and its boss has been changed.
They didn't know how the new boss would deal with the company, so those strong-minded people had resigned or switched their jobs before the company was purchased.
Those who stayed were ineffective troops who were still at a loss.
Matilda brought her to her office and briefly told her about the company's current situation.
Clarissa analyzed it carefully and found that it was almost the same as the information she had received.
There were only ten stars in the company. One of whom was a five-man group which signed with the company last year. Although it was called a men group, they were just a few stars who had no obvious talents and skills.
The others stars were all not famous. They had only acted in films as minor roles, just like eunuchs and maids.
The agent department was even more incapable. Some capable agents had left and there were only a few graduates in the department. Their abilities were even worse than those stars.
The public relations department existed in name only.
They had no work to do because all the stars in the company were not popular and famous!
They even hoped that there could be some rumors about the stars in the company so that people could pay attention to them.
Even if they were scolded, they could be discussed by public!
As for the other departments, Clarissa checked them carefully and found that they were all in trouble.
Matilda reported to Clarissa with an embarrassed but polite smile on his face.
"President Chapman, this is the current situation of our company. The reports and documents are all here. Do you want to read them again?"
Clarissa shook her head.
What was the point of reading them again?
There was no way to change the fact that all the stars in the company were not famous.
She sighed helplessly.
Matilda also knew that the company was in a difficult situation.
But this was the truth. She was just in charge of the company for the time-being, and she used to be a secretary.
The company was about to go bankrupt and most of the employees had left, she had no choice but to be the assistant general manager at the critical and difficult moment.
It was not easy for him to keep the company like this.
"The biggest problem is that no investors want to cooperate with us. We don't have circulating capital, so one films and advertisement want to cooperate with us. Since we have no investors, no famous actors want to sign with us. That is why our company becomes like this."
Clarissa knew that it was not easy for her to run this company, so she waved her hand without saying anything.
"I see. Just put the reports here! I'll find a way to solve the problems of circulating capital. Thank you for your hard work. You can leave now!"
Matilda nodded and then left.
After she left, Clarissa went straight to the actor department.
Stars were the most important part of an entertainment company. She only had a brief understanding of these people from the documents, but she had never seen them.
At this time, the other people had gone out to attend auditions. Only the male group was in the company.
Next month, there would be a very popular star-making show. Although it was almost impossible for them to go up with their abilities, they would make every possible effort and have a try.
So at this time, they were practicing dancing in the practice room.
When Clarissa went there, they were dancing.
She did not go in and disturb them, but just observed them through the glass.
To be honest, although she was the boss of the company, she had no way to admit that they were excellent.
The competitions between idols were very fierce. As a male dancing group, these people had neither amazing appearances nor outstanding talents. They were just ordinary people.
Their only advantage was that they made great efforts.
But it was the most worthless thing in the entertainment circle.
Clarissa looked at them for a while and then left.
Those who went out for auditions all came back in the evening. There were three men and two women.
Clarissa was surprised to find that she knew a girl among them.
Evelyn Hussain.
She had met her several times when she worked as the public relations manager in Twilight.
Evelyn graduated from the Department of Performance in university. Although she didn't have an oval face which was the most popular, she looked pretty and adorable.
Among all the new stars, her acting skills were excellent.
However, she didn't got many chances to act in films because she had a round face.
Later, she canceled the contract with Twilight because the contract was expired.
Clarissa didn't expect that she would come to Starlight!
