Chapter 51 The Call In The Study
Clarissa went downstairs to explain to Pattie.
As Anderson expected, Pattie did not believe what she said at all.
She said with an ambiguous face, "I understand. Mrs. Jordan, you don't have to be so shy. It doesn't matter. It's a good thing that you're deep in love. Only in this way can you give birth to a cute baby as soon as possible, and then Estdal Manor will become more lively."
In short, Pattie said a lot. She just didn't believe that she had misunderstood Clarissa and Anderson.
When Clarissa found that her explanation was useless, she gave up.
Fortunately, she and Anderson were legal husband and wife indeed, so it was normal for them to hug and kiss each other. Although it was a little awkward to be seen by Pattie, it was not a big deal.
Clarissa gave up restoring her unemotional profile in Pattie's mind. She poured a glass of milk and went upstairs.
When she passed by the study, she suddenly heard someone talking inside.
Judging from the voice, it seemed that Anderson was talking on the phone.
She didn't care about it at first, but when she was about to walk to the bedroom, she suddenly heard a gentle whisper from inside.
"Baby, listen to me obediently. Go to bed early after you take your medicine."
She was stiff all over.
Her footsteps stopped.
"I'll be back in a few days."
"Be good and listen to me. I'll accompany with you when I'm back, okay?"
"Okay. Anne, you're the most adorable baby in the world."
Anderson kept speaking.
Most of the time, Anderson spoke in a low and gentle tone, which was the tone she had never heard before. It was tender to the extreme.
She could even imagine that he was smiling with a gentle face while speaking.
He must wear a warm look, but she felt so cold as if someone had poured a bowl of cold water on her head. She even felt a chill down her spine.
Anderson's soft laughter could be heard. His laughter was full of joy.
"Okay, I'll miss you too. Good night."
Then he hung up the phone.
There was a moment of silence in the study, and then footsteps sounded, as if he was walking out.
Clarissa's face changed.
She turned around and ran away subconsciously.
She ran all the way back to the bedroom and slammed the door shut.
Anderson walked out of the study. From a distance, he saw that she was running so fast and then the bedroom door was closed.
He was stunned, and then he thought of something and frowned slightly.
Pattie happened to pass by downstairs at this time. He stood in the corridor and asked, "What's wrong with Mrs. Jordan?"
Pattie paused, and she was a little confused.
"Nothing! She went upstairs just now."
Anderson frowned harder.
Without saying anything else, he turned around and walked to the bedroom.
The light in the bedroom was somewhat dim. Clarissa was sitting at the bed and reading an entertainment magazine in her hand.
Anderson walked over. He pretended to be casual and asked, "You went to the study just now?"
Clarissa glanced at him from the corner of her eye and coughed lightly, "Yes, I was just passing by. Why are you so nervous?"
Anderson didn't say anything.
She didn't look at him, but she could feel that he was staring at her with shrewd eyes and a curious expression.
Clarissa suddenly did not want to talk to him anymore. She deliberately yawned and put down the magazine.
"It's late. I'll sleep now."
As she spoke, she lay down with her back to him, pulled the quilt and closed her eyes.
Anderson looked at how she was lying under the quilt, and his eyes darkened.
He didn't say anything else and turned to take a shower in the bathroom.
The sound of running water could be heard, and Clarissa couldn't fall asleep at all.
She kept thinking of what she had just heard outside the study.
His tone was so intimate and his words were so ambiguous. If she didn't hear it with her own ears, she would not believe that he had said those words.
Thinking of what he said when he forced her to get the marriage certificate and how they got along with each other these days, Clarissa suddenly felt a little depressed in her heart.
Fortunately, they hadn't been together for a long time. Although they were husband and wife, they were more like partners.
She tried her best to be his wife, and he acted as her husband at the right time.
"That's good." She thought.
She had been betrayed by Elliot, so she didn't expect that she could once again encounter her true love.
"So it's really good, isn't it?"
Clarissa kept comforting herself like this, and her messy mood finally calmed down a little.
But she felt that there was a place in her heart that suddenly became empty, and she felt a little disappointed.
When Anderson came out of the bathroom, Clarissa was still awake.
He looked at her petite figure in the quilt. Her eyes were closed, but her curled eyelashes were trembling slightly. He knew that she must be pretending to be asleep.
He chuckled silently and did not expose her. After drying his hair, he walked towards the big bed.
Clarissa knew that he had come out.
It was because when he dried his hair and walked, he made lots of sounds. It seemed that he made it on purpose to remind her of something.
She held her breath and pretended that she didn't know.
After a while, Anderson got on the bed, and she smelled the fragrant smell on his body.
Clarissa frowned. In the past, she had fallen asleep and didn't pay attention to him. But that night, she only felt that his existence affected her a lot. She even felt that the big bed became narrow in an instant because he had got on the bed.
Especially when Anderson leaned close to her deliberately, she felt uneasier and more disturbed.
She almost held her breath and straightened her body to suppress the impulse to escape.
The room suddenly darkened. It seemed that the lights had been turned off.
In the darkness, people's senses would often be more sensitive than when there was light.
Anderson didn't touch her body, and there was even a small distance between them.
But she was so distracted that she couldn't ignore him.
After a long time.
Clarissa suddenly groaned softly, as if she was talking in her sleep. Then she turned over and rolled aside.
There was immediately a distance of about half a meter between them.
After getting away from him, Clarissa felt much more relaxed.
Clarissa breathed a sigh of relief. However, she felt warm on her back, because Anderson got close to her again.
Clarissa frowned.
She lay with her back to him, and she could even feel the warmth of his chest.
The position was so ambiguous...
She gritted her teeth and rolled again.
However, Anderson seemed to stick to her and leaned close to her again.
Clarissa was extremely angry.
She opened her eyes. In the darkness, she could hear his steady breathing after he fell asleep.
She was not sure whether he was really asleep or he was pretending to be asleep like her. After thinking for a while, she took a deep breath and finally moved to the bedside.
No matter how big the bed was, after she rolled three times like this, she reached the edge of the bed.
If she rolled again, she would fall to the ground.
However, Anderson seemed to have made up his mind to go against her.
As soon as she stopped, he leaned close to her again.
This time, he even put his strong arm on her soft waist.
