Chapter 422 An Assassination

"Of course, we never lie. Besides, it's useless to keep a person in the organization forcefully if he or she doesn't believe in it anymore."
"Okay, I promise you!"
"Very good, Dylan. You've never let me down. This time, I hope you won't either."
Dylan laughed coldly.
She hung up the phone without saying anything else.
The wind at night was very strong. She walked to the balcony outside and looked at the dim lights in the darkness, narrowing her eyes.
After a while, she curled her lips and took out her phone from her pocket.
When the phone was turned on, she looked at the phone number that had just been connected not long ago, and there was a complicated look in her eyes.
"Seven, I've done my work. I've already sent someone to inquire about the thing that you asked me to help you with. Now I have some information. Is it convenient for you to see me now?"
On the other end of the line, upon hearing what she said, Clarissa immediately agreed. "Okay, where are you? I'll be right there."
"I'll send you the address."
"All right."
After hanging up the phone, a cold light flashed across her eyes, and then she quickly typed a text message and sent it over.
Clarissa and Anderson drove the car to the address given to her by Dylan. Upon their arrival, they discovered that this was a luxurious hotel.
She quickly took the elevator to the 48th floor according to the address given by Dylan.
As soon as they walked out of the hall, they came to the open-air garden outside and saw Dylan sitting on the sofa.
She was surrounded by a group of men, who seemed to be having a good time. They were trying to get Dylan drunk.
Clarissa frowned. Seeing that Dylan did not look too well, she quickly ran over and pushed the men away. She snapped, "What are you doing?"
When the few of them saw someone walking over, they smiled and said, "Yo, where is this girl from? She's pretty!"
As he spoke, he reached out his hand to caress her face.
However, before his hand could reach her, he was held down by someone. Then with a click, his wrist was broken by someone.
The man shrieked and fell back. He scolded, "Which sc*mbag dares to lay a hand on me?"
In the next second, he was kicked in the knees and then both of his legs went weak. He fell and knelt on the ground with a "bang".
Anderson's expression was stern. "Watch your mouth!"
Having to be at the losing end, the man looked up at him and glanced at Anderson's outfit. At a glance, he knew that the man was from a powerful background. Immediately, he dared not say anything and left pathetically with his hand covering his painful arm.
At this point, Dylan seemed to have sobered up a little. When she saw Clarissa, she immediately said with a smile, "Seven, you are here. Come over and have a drink with me!"
Clarissa's frown deepened seeing how drunk Dylan was.
Anderson couldn't help but frown too.
"Didn't she say that there's news for us? How come she's so drunk?"
In fact, Clarissa also felt something was off.
But after all, she hadn't been in contact with the Lost Vanguard for several years. Although Dylan used to be her good friend, she hadn't contacted her for a few years, so she naturally didn't know much about her.
Therefore, she did not make any comment about it and said to Anderson in a low voice, "We'll bring her back first. This is not a good place to talk."
Anderson nodded in agreement.
Thus, Clarissa stepped forward and snatched the glass from her hand. She said sternly, "Stop drinking. Follow me!"
As she spoke, she helped her up from the sofa.
"No, no! Have a drink with me! I haven't had enough."
Dylan yelled, trying to reach her glass.
Clarissa ignored her as she focused on helping her to leave.
However, Clarissa was petite. It was very difficult for her to hold the drunken Dylan.
Anderson couldn't stand it anymore so he went up to help. "I'll help!"
As he spoke, he took over Dylan from Clarissa and the two of them helped her to leave.
However, at this moment, the reflection of something small suddenly flashed by.
The next second, with a "bang", Anderson was kicked as he stumbled backwards.
There was blood projecting through the air. As Anderson did not take notice of it, he snorted and half knelt on the ground.
Clarissa was shocked. She stood still on the spot and was at a loss of what to do.
Then, she saw Dylan take out a dagger from somewhere and flew forward, stabbing Anderson's chest with it again.
At that moment, Clarissa found herself stopped breathing.
She stood still in a daze with her mouth agape, as if time had stopped. She could no longer hear any sound.
Until...
With a "poof", the man spat out a mouthful of blood and fell to the ground.
Clarissa came to her senses. She let out a scream and threw herself at him.
"Anderson!"
The people around them gathered as soon as they heard a scream. When they saw someone lying on the ground with blood splattering all over the place, they were shocked and screamed in panic.
The dining hall was in a mess. Clarissa managed to rush to Anderson's side, only to see that his chest had been stabbed twice, and he was bleeding profusely.
She wanted to reach out and press him, but she didn't know where to press. The blood instantly dyed his upper body. She did not know where to place her hand.
Clarissa raised her head and looked at the culprit, only to see her standing there in a daze. Her eyes were bright and clear, and there was no sight of drunkenness in her.
Clarissa's tears streamed down her face in an instant. She stared at Dylan with hatred in her eyes.
Dylan's face was a little pale, but she did not say anything.
They used to be so close. But at this moment, it seemed like they were strangers and this was the first time they had met. It was really scary.
"Call the ambulance, I'm begging you, is there anyone willing to call the ambulance!"
Some kind-hearted people quickly helped to call the ambulance.
Clarissa held Anderson in her arms, weeping so hard that she could not even utter a word.
There was a flash of self-mockery in Dylan's eyes, as she turned around
No one around her stopped her. They watched the murderer turn around and quickly disappear along with the panic crowd.
Clarissa hugged Anderson tightly and said in a trembling voice, "Anderson, please be safe. Open your eyes and look at me. You can't let anything happen to you. Hold on, you must hold on."
Fear welled up in Clarissa's chest, as if there was someone grabbing her violently, trying to push her into an abyss.
She had never been as afraid as she was now.
She was so scared that she didn't even have time to go after the murderer. She was so scared that she didn't even have the strength to ask Dylan why.
She only knew that nothing could happen to him. He must not die.
Absolutely not.
Anderson closed his eyes and couldn't say anything. He could only hold her hand tightly.
His grip was so powerful, almost crushing her fingers, but she didn't feel any pain at all.
Clarissa held him in her arms, and her mind was in a mess. She thought of the purpose of her coming to F Country, and the sudden phone call from Dylan.
As realization hit her, she sobbed, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault. It's all my fault! I shouldn't have asked you to come with me. I was too stupid to trust her. I beg you, please be safe, please!"
