Chapter 343 You'll Regret This Someday
Natalia's expression slightly changed as the guilt on her face became even more apparent.
At this time, even Aidan, who had no clue of what was going on, also noticed that something was wrong.
He looked at Clarissa and then turned to look at Natalia, with a deep furrow tangling in his brow.
"Natalia, do you know anything about it? Don't be afraid. I'm here. If you want to say it, just say it out."
As he spoke, he even held Natalia's hand, hoping to give her some strength.
Natalia didn't say anything. She seemed to be in a dilemma.
Clarissa was not in a hurry. She had been waiting for her without saying a word.
The chain of the necklace was relatively long. Hence, the pendant would be hidden in her clothes when Clarissa wore it.
Moreover, Clarissa rarely a wore low-collar top. Therefore, it was impossible to know that the pendant was made of ruby if one had not seen the necklace before.
Seeing that Natalia was in such a dilemma, so there must be something else behind it.
Now that the matter had been exposed, she knew that if Natalia wanted to say it, she would definitely tell her. If Natalia didn't want to say it, no matter how desperate Clarissa was, it would be useless for her to force Natalia to say it.
What's more, the relationship between her and Natalia was not bad, because Aidan and Anderson were good friends. So, she and Natalia were like sisters-in-laws.
If Natalia wanted to get along with Aidan in the future, she would never hurt her.
As a matter of fact, Clarissa's guess was correct.
After hesitating for a long while, Natalia decided to tell the truth.
She looked at Clarissa and said hesitantly, "Clarissa, in fact, I... I've seen the necklace you've worn before."
Clarissa raised her eyebrows.
"Where did you see it?"
"I don't remember too clearly. When I was very young and was playing in my aunt's room, I saw it in her room, but I don't remember the details anymore. It was a long, long time ago."
Clarissa's expression changed.
"Who's your aunt?"
Aidan explained, "The Levine family has only one daughter who was Natalia's aunt— Vivian."
Clarissa shuddered in shock.
Vivian?
How was this possible?
Natalia looked at her shocked expression and quickly added, "But my memory is vague. The one you wore before is very similar to the one I saw when I was young. As for whether it is the same one, I'm not sure, so maybe I'm thinking too much."
Clarissa's expression turned glum, but she did not say a word.
For some unknown reason, Clarissa suddenly remembered what Chloe had said to her when she took the necklace back a long time ago.
Chloe said, "Clarissa, one day you will regret it!"
Why did she say that?
What could she regret?
Clarissa did not dare to think about it. It seemed like an idea had been planted in her mind, and it was ready to break through the soil.
Seeing the glum look on Clarissa's face, Natalia couldn't help but feel a little regret. She was blaming herself for bringing it up.
Just then, Anne, who had been sitting next to them eating a lollipop, looked at the adults in a daze, as she could not understand what they were talking about. However, her eyes suddenly lit up.
She shouted "daddy" happily and ran to the door.
Clarissa finally came to her senses and looked up. As expected, Anderson was here.
The atmosphere was lightened up because of Anderson's arrival. Natalia and Aidan stood up and greeted Anderson with a smile. "Anderson, here you are."
Anderson held Anne in his arms and nodded at them.
As soon as he looked back, Anderson noticed that Clarissa did not look too well.
He could not help but frown as he asked, "What's wrong? What were you two talking about just now?"
Both Natalia and Aidan's expressions changed.
Anderson was known for doting his wife among his friends. If he were to find out that they had made Clarissa unhappy, he might seek revenge.
Therefore, Aidan said, "Anderson, we still have something on, so we won't disturb you three. We'll go first."
As he spoke, Aidan dragged Natalia and left in a hurry.
Anderson took a deep look at them and sat down next to Clarissa with Anne in his arms. He asked gently, "What did Aidan say to you?"
Clarissa shook her head.
She paused before looking up at him and said seriously, "It's not Aidan, it's Natalia."
Anderson's brows furrowed.
Clarissa sighed.
"Actually, it's nothing. It's just that Natalia said she saw the necklace left by my mom in the Levine family when she was a child. I find it a little strange. By right, my mother should have nothing to do with the Levine family. It's impossible for her to be in the Levine family more than ten or twenty years ago. But Natalia said that she had seen it. I can't understand it..."
Anderson's expression darkened slightly.
"Did she say when she saw it?"
Clarissa was stunned. Only then did she remember. She quickly shook her head. "No, I forgot to ask."
"Ask her about it later."
"Alright."
Soon, Clarissa found an opportunity to ask Natalia when she was alone.
But in fact, Natalia could not remember clearly. She only remembered that she was only a few years old. Because her father was still close to the Levine family at that time, she had the opportunity to go over there and play.
But later on, when Natalia's father was being deprecated, Natalia had less chances to go to the old mansion. As time passed, they wouldn't go over there unless there was a special event.
It was only during these two years that Natalia had more opportunities to step foot on the old mansion when she managed to stand out among the younger generation.
Therefore, if her memory did not fail her, the time when Natalia first saw the necklace would only be when she was a few years old.
After listening, Clarissa still didn't know the exact time, but she wasn't too disappointed about it.
After all, it was just their speculation.
Vivian had passed away. It didn't matter if the necklace had something to do with her or not anymore.
To her, it was nothing more than a relic that her mother had left for her, a token of remembrance.
After she thought it through, Clarissa didn't hesitate any longer. After dinner, she followed everyone to the garden at the back.
The garden was built by the water, and there was a large fountain in the middle. Near the lawn, there were plenty of small tables and counters with all kinds of wines, drinks and snacks on them. There was also a professional band playing on the other side of the lawn.
Old Madam Jordan had taken Anne with her, so Clarissa and Anderson were alone with each other.
Marty, Jameson and the others also came. Although Clarissa was still holding grudges against Jameson, she did not say anything because it was Old Master Levine's birthday banquet today and it was not appropriate for her to make a scene.
They gathered together and chatted for a while. They then saw a figure coming towards them in a graceful manner not far away.
"Anderson, Marty, Jameson, Natalia, and Clarissa, you're all here."
