Chapter 1022 To The Desert

A desolate desert landscape surrounded them.
The countryside was yellow, with only a few green spots visible. Only a few of them might be seen if one looked closely.
Seeing this, Clarissa sighed in her heart. It turned out that her mother had been living in such a place all these years.
She didn't think it was a poor place. However, she knew in her heart that Sierra had always been the Campos family's favorite daughter. As a result, she had been protected and respected since young.
Later, she married Gianni. Though he was not loyal to her, he did not dare to snub her.
At the very least, she had never experienced much suffering in her life.
After all, no matter how rich one was, some resources still could not be obtained in time in the desert.
Sierra must have had a difficult time when she first moved here.
At the thought of this, Clarissa couldn't help but feel a little depressed.
Anderson seemed to have read her mind. "Don't overthink, alright?" he said softly as he raised his hand and held hers.
Turning to face him, Clarissa nodded after a while.
After some time, the two kids were probably bored though they were intrigued at first. They later discovered that the car continued to go forward, but there was still nothing but sand and loess outside the window.
Thus, coupled with the summer heat, they lost interest. They couldn't help but feel tired as they sat in the car.
Anderson sat them down by his side and held them both in his arms, allowing them to sleep in his embrace.
At this point, Clarissa was feeling a little uneasy.
She was, after all, expecting a child. She could hardly endure such a long journey, even if she had been nursed to a good body through the years.
As a result, her complexion began to shift after about half an hour.
In fact, Anderson had been secretly watching her. When he noticed her face was becoming pale, he worriedly asked, "Clarissa, how are you? Are you feeling unwell?"
Clarissa shook her head.
"I'm fine. I'm just a little nauseous."
In front, Ameer heard her. With a kind smile, he offered her a bottle of chilled water from a small fridge beside. "You may have a heatstroke. It's fine. You'll be okay after drinking some iced water. This is how those who have just arrived in the desert will be. You'll get used to it in a few days."
Anderson took the ice water over and felt that it was frighteningly cold when he held it in his hand.
He was concerned that drinking such cold water would upset Clarissa's stomach, especially because it was burning hot outside.
Therefore, he didn't open it for her to drink. Instead, he just let her place it on her forehead to cool off.
Noticing this, Ameer said nothing and quietly lowered the temperature of the car's air conditioner.
About an hour later, the yellow sand outside the window finally disappeared.
The car finally drove into a lush green town.
According to Ameer, despite the city's size, it was basically a desert outside, and only a small area could actually accommodate people.
Besides, there was a river nearby. The river was claimed to have a history of over 2,000 years. A small prairie surrounded it, and the sight was breathtaking. They could go check it out if they were free.
Clarissa and Anderson remained silent as they heard this. Well, Clarissa's condition had been ideal since the beginning of her pregnancy.
The twins in her belly were quite peaceful and never caused her any problems. She didn't even have morning sickness.
However, a feeling of vomiting rose from her stomach when she came out this time. She didn't even have the strength to open her eyes, let alone speak.
On the other hand, Anderson didn't want to speak too because he was worried about her.
The two kids had fallen asleep in his arms. He hugged them and maintained his eyes on Clarissa from time to time. It was a true multitasking situation.
As a matter of fact, Nora had followed them this time as well.
However, they left Nora to look for their grandparents since they were concerned about them.
Actually, the Ethanbezs had a close relationship with Matteo, and nothing could happen to them.
However, they were outsiders, after all. Also, they were in a different place. It would be inconvenient for them not to have someone on their side.
Nora was skilled at martial art and was extremely cautious. Most importantly, they chose to keep her because of her loyalty.
The car continued for another stretch of road before coming to a halt in front of a beautiful building in the city's center.
Clarissa sensed the automobile had come to a halt, so she slowly gathered her strength and opened her eyes.
In front of her was a white castle. It looked exactly like a structure from Uqobia's medieval era. The castle's summit was pointed, looking as beautiful as a painting.
Only then did she pull herself together. She forced herself to sit up and drew open the curtains of the car window to look outside.
At the carved gate, she noticed several security guards. Ameer was only allowed in after presenting an identification card to the guards. Only then did he slowly drive into it.
There was a change of scenery on the way into the manor.
Such a fragile plant as the lily would naturally not be able to survive in such an environment.
But even so, it still didn't affect the scenery here.
The inside was lush with greenery, with large green trees and modest plants strewn about. Each of them seemed to have been meticulously crafted, with even the positions perfectly aligned.
The center ground was paved with smooth marble. It reflected a beautiful light under the sun as the car drove through it, as though driving on white glass.
Clarissa couldn't help but sigh in her heart.
This was a very opulent place!
Those who didn't know would believe they had arrived at a palace.
That's right. In Clarissa's opinion, this style was identical to the Uqobia palace in the medieval era.
The car proceeded forward for approximately five or six minutes before coming to a halt in front of a tall building.
Ameer got out of the car and walked to the back to help them open the car door. With a smile, he added, "Sir, madam, we've arrived. Let's get off."
Only then did Anderson get out of the car with the children in his arms while Clarissa followed. Seeing this, Ameer stepped forward and helped her out.
Clarissa saw immediately after exiting the car that the buildings in front of her were all built in the ancient Uqobia palace style. Every stone pillar and the details on them were lifelike as if they had entered the fairyland.
Walking in front of them, Ameer then led the way. "Please come with me."
The few of them soon kept up with him.
A long flight of stairs about twenty or thirty stories high stood in front of the building.
They had just walked halfway when they heard the excited voice of a woman.
"Clarissa and the others had already arrived? Why didn't you tell me earlier? I'm heading out now to get them."
