Chapter 313 Let Her Down
He smiled unconsciously, pushed open the door, and walked in. Then, he saw Natalia standing in front of the window in a white sweater. She seemed to be lost in thought.
He coughed lightly, walked over and asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Natalia's expression changed, but she did not look back.
She only shook her head and said, "I'm fine."
Aidan thought for a moment and asked, "Why are you not happy? Is it because..."
He paused. Seeing that she did not speak, he hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Are you still angry because of what happened that night?"
Hearing his words, Natalia was stunned, and her face suddenly changed.
Aidan had been paying attention to her. When he saw that her expression had changed, his heart sank.
He explained in a hurry, "I didn't mean it the night before yesterday. I was drugged and couldn't control myself. Although I know that I can't use this reason to let you forgive me, I have to make it clear to you."
As soon as he finished his words, Natalia Wan suddenly turned her head and looked at him with a very complicated expression in her eyes.
After a while, she said, "You mean, you didn't do that on purpose the night before yesterday? If you hadn't been drugged, you wouldn't have done that kind of thing to me. Are you here to apologize to me today?"
Aidan nodded.
A sad expression flashed across Natalia's eyes. She seemed to be a little heartbroken and disappointed.
She forced a smile and said, "Okay, I see. I forgive you."
Aidan was slightly dumbfounded. He had never thought that she would forgive him so directly. Standing there, he suddenly didn't know what to say.
Before he came, he had imagined a lot of possibilities. How would she react? What would she say to blame him? Would she make a fuss? He even planned that if she really cared about it so much, he would go back and tell his family that he would marry her.
But she didn't say anything. She just said that she had forgiven him.
That was all...
Aidan stood there and became silent. He felt depressed and sombre for no reason.
At the same time, Natalia felt that her heart was beating violently, as if it was going to jump out of her chest.
Aidan had been standing there in silence. What was he thinking about? Why didn't he leave?
Finally, she couldn't help but ask, "You have apologized and I have forgiven you. Is there anything else?"
Aidan was taken aback and looked at her. For a moment, he didn't know what to say.
His silence made Natalia want to cry, and she felt more and more doleful.
Sure enough, he didn't like her. What happened that night was just a careless mistake made by him, and he could forget it so easily.
He came to apologize to her, hoping that she would forgive him, and then? Then they might part company, and they would never meet again! Otherwise, why didn't he speak?
Natalia's eyes were gradually brimming with tears. Aidan looked at her misty eyes, and his heart ached terribly. He felt somewhat painful and uncomfortable in heart.
Was she blaming him? She said that she had forgiven him, but in fact, she hated him very much!
After all, it was her virginity! She must hate him a lot because they were unfamiliar but he had sex with her by force!
He sighed softly. Originally, he wanted to say something, but he could no longer say a word because of her tears.
Finally, he sighed and said in a deep voice, "I'm so sorry. It's my fault. Even if you don't forgive me, it's reasonable. So you don't have say that against your will."
Natalia shook her head with a smile on her face, but tears had run out of her eyes.
She wiped her tears in a hurry and said, "I don't feel wronged and I didn't say that against my will. It's just something in the past, and I don't want to mention it anymore. You can leave now."
Seeing her like this, Aidan felt more painful in heart. He almost couldn't breathe, as if his throat had been seized by something.
But in the end, he just nodded and said in a muffled voice, "Okay, have a good rest!"
After a pause, he said, "Remember to call me if you need anything, and you can ask for leave for a long time as long as you want. You don't need to come back to work in a hurry."
Without looking at him, Natalia said in a cold voice, "Got it."
Feeling her aloofness, Aidan had a bitter feeling for the first time. He smiled self-mockingly and turned to walk out without saying a word.
When he went downstairs, he saw Lanze sitting in the living room, as if she was waiting for someone.
He walked over and said politely, "Auntie, I have something to do, so I'll leave first."
Lanze turned around and looked at him in surprise, "Why are you leaving so soon? Stay and have dinner here."
Aidan shook his head, "No, I have something to do in the hospital temporarily, so I must leave."
After that, he left.
Clarissa and Anderson did not know what had happened to Aidan.
Joy had been receiving treatment in the hospital. After more than a week, he finally recovered.
On the day he was discharged from the hospital, Clarissa went to pick up him and Lauren in person.
The Spring Festival would come in another twenty-some days. Clarissa let Lauren think about whether she should stay in Flaucford to celebrate the new year or return to Visstead.
Although his father did not want to contact her, they were still related by blood. Moreover, the problem between them was complicated and it could not be explained clearly with a few words.
Lauren promised to think about it. She had been busy with fitness recently and was ready to make a comeback after the new year.
Although it was hasty, if she was able to work, she would at least be busy so that she wouldn't have time to think too much, and her mood would get better.
Clarissa had no objection to her decision. However, Lauren's contract was still in the Jones Group. Back then, in order to force her to give in, Dexter kept her contract and didn't allow any director to cooperate with her. Hence, if Lauren really wanted to make a comeback, she should go back sooner or later.
However, although Joy had been discharged from the hospital, Lauren was still worried and nervous all day long.
Seeing this, Clarissa made an appointment with Aidan and asked him to do a detailed check-up for the child when he was free.
She just wanted Lauren to be relieved.
She worried about the child too much. As long as he felt a little uncomfortable, she would be so disturbed.
Clarissa felt that she couldn't be in such a state for a long time.
In fact, she could understand Lauren. She gave birth to this child without telling her father, which meant that she had broken off all relations with the Jones family. She had no relatives and no husband. For a single woman like her, the child was her only spiritual support.
If anything went wrong with the child, she might not be able to live.
Aidan received Clarissa's call and rushed over in the afternoon.
He was professional, and he was always stable and calm, so Lauren trusted him very much.
After he had a check-up for the child and said that there was nothing wrong with him, Lauren completely believed that the child had indeed recovered.
