Chapter 11 Don't Show Off Your Love

Clarissa's cold words did not make Elliot stop talking to her.
He said seriously, "It's nice to see you here. I have something to ask you. Where did you go last night? Why didn't you answer my call?"
The expression in Clarissa's eyes changed slightly.
Last night, Elliot call her a few more times indeed, but she was with Anderson at that time, so she didn't hear it at all.
She saw it this morning, but she didn't want to pay attention to it.
No matter he wanted to care about her or scold her, it was inappropriate, because they had broken up.
Thinking of this, she grabbed her hair and answered lazily, "Elliot, who do you think you are?"
Elliot was stunned, "What?"
"Why do I have to answer your phone when you call me?"
Elliot was stunned for a long time before he finally understood what she meant. He immediately flew into a rage.
"Clarissa! Don't be so ungrateful! I'm concerned about you!"
"Oh? Does Lara know that you care about me so much?"
She raised her eyes eyebrows and looked at him with a faint smile.
Elliot's face changed slightly. He was angry and annoyed, but he couldn't say a word.
Just then, a clear and sweet voice came from the gate of the villa.
"Elliot!"
As soon as Elliot turned around, he saw Lara running out in a lavender long-sleeved dress.
Seeing her, Elliot's face softened a little as he strode toward her.
"Why did you come out? Why do you wear so little? It's windy outside."
"I'm fine. I'm not cold." Lara raised her head and smiled at him. Then, she got stunned for a while when she saw Clarissa.
She showed a sweet smile and walked towards Clarissa quickly.
"Clarissa, haven't you left yet? You didn't drive your car here? How about letting the driver send you home?"
Looking at Lara's gentle and kind face, Clarissa smiled sarcastically and said, "No, thanks. I can take a taxi myself."
Lara paused for a moment and said with a smile, "Clarissa, don't be so stubborn. It's not easy to hail a taxi here. Besides, it's so late. It's not safe for you to go back alone. Just let the driver send you!"
As she spoke, she beckoned for a maid to come over.
"Go find a driver to drive Clarissa back."
The maid nodded in agreement. Then she turned around to call a driver.
Seeing that Lara behaved like the owner of the Chapman family, Clarissa suddenly felt a little disgusted.
Five years ago, Lara was just a little village girl. At that time, she and her mother were not qualified to speak in the Chapman family. In just a few years, the situation had changed dramatically.
She sneered in her heart. Of course, she wouldn't treat Lara warmly. She said coldly, "Lara, can't you understand what I said? When did I agree to let the driver send me?"
Lara was stunned for a moment. When she saw Clarissa's apathetic eyes, she took a step back as if she was scared by Clarissa's harsh words.
"Don't be angry, Clarissa. I'm just caring about you."
"Caring about me?" Clarissa sneered and walked to her with a playful look, "A few minutes ago, you were trying to threaten me with your grandmother, but now you say that you're caring about me? Lara, aren't you afraid that you won't be able to remove your hypocritical mask after wearing it for a long time?"
Lara's face turned slightly pale, and her weak eyes were brimming with tears instantly.
"Clarissa, I'm just worried about you. How can you say this..."
Her trembling body looked really thin and fragile. Elliot couldn't bear it anymore and strode forward to hold her in his arms.
He turned around and glared at Clarissa fiercely.
"Clarissa! Can you stop being so malicious every time you speak? You're like a hedgehog. Anyone who approaches you will be hurt by you! Lara just wants to care about you. It's fine if you want to refuse her, but why do you have to say something like this to hurt her?"
Clarissa paused for a moment when she saw how Elliot was trying to protect Lara.
She sneered mockingly, but her heart was sad.
During the six years she had been with Elliot, he didn't treat her badly. He was even gentle and considerate.
Otherwise, it was impossible for her to love him for six years.
She just didn't understand since he liked Lara so much, why didn't he break up with her earlier?
She was not a person who couldn't accept failure. If he broke up with her openly before being with Lara, she would not say anything no matter how sad she was.
But he didn't. She saw him cheating on her with her own eyes. They quarrelled and things became so embarrassing!
Clarissa turned her head and said coldly, "Stay away from me if you don't want to be hurt. I've warned you not to show off your love in front of me. Don't you know that the couple who always flirt with each other in the public will break up soon?"
"You!"
Elliot was furious. Lara stopped him in a hurry, "Elliot, forget it! Clarissa is in a bad mood. Let's not argue with her..."
Elliot pointed at Clarissa hatefully, but he put down his hand fiercely.
"Okay! I won't argue with you. But since you're so cold and hard to get along with, no man will love you! Don't regret it then! Lara, let's go!"
After he said that angrily, he went into the villa with Lara.
Clarissa stood alone in the cool wind at night and shivered for no reason.
No man would love her?
She suddenly felt a dull pain in her heart and she wanted to cry.
But she raised her head and blinked hard to hold back the tears in her eyes.
Then she laughed at herself.
"What are you crying for?"
"No matter how harsh the words are, you've heard them before. What can you expect from a dog but a bark? Do you want to argue with a dog?"
She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down.
At this moment, the tooting of a car sounded in front of her.
Clarissa looked up. In the dark night, a black Rolls-Royce was driving to the direction of where she was standing.
The bright lights of the car were so dazzling that she raised her hand to cover her eyes. Soon, the car passed by her and stopped in front of her.
"Miss Chapman! We meet again!"
The person who got off the car was Anderson's assistant, David. Clarissa knew him, of course. After all, she saw him this morning.
She forced a smile and looked a little embarrassed, "Why are you here?"
"Mr. Jordan just came back from a banquet and happened to pass by here. He saw you standing on the side of the road, so he ordered me to stop the car."
As he said this, he opened the car door for her with a smile and bowed respectfully, "Miss Chapman, please."
Clarissa was a little hesitant.
She looked up at Anderson who was sitting in the car. He sat there quietly, with an elbow on the window. He looked out of the window and seemed to be looking at something. He looked leisurely.
In the night, his handsome side face could not be seen clearly. Only his cold aura made her feel that he was still detached and indifferent.
She hesitated for a few seconds and finally got in the car.
As soon as she got on the car, she smelled a strong smell of alcohol.
She was a little surprised and asked subconsciously, "Did you drink?"
