Chapter 397 Seducing Him In Front Of Her

Clarissa felt a little embarrassed.
Could she tell Arnie that she was just keeping it as a collection?
Anderson said nonchalantly, "You don't have to worry about it, Miss."
Arnie was speechless.
She didn't expect that the man in front of her would be so persistent. He refused to give in no matter what she said.
Clarissa, on the other hand, was a little embarrassed.
When Clarissa was about to say something, Arnie sighed and said, "Sir, to tell you the truth, this jade hairpin is actually a birthday gift for my sister. My sister has been ill for many years. On one hand, I heard that wearing a jade ornament could benefit people; on the other hand, my sister has seen a picture of the jade hairpin and she likes it very much. So I'm asking for your help to give to me."
Clarissa couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She couldn't bear to turn her down anymore.
"After all, it's just a hairpin. I bought it just for fun. It would not be of much use."
"Besides, her sister is seriously ill in bed. Since she likes it so much, I'll just give it to her!" Clarissa thought.
With this thought in mind, she tugged at Anderson's sleeve.
"Anderson..."
Anderson already knew what she meant, and he frowned slightly.
He looked at Arnie with a hint of ridicule.
"Since you've said so, please do as you wish!"
Seeing that Anderson was willing to give in, Arnie put on a surprised expression.
"Thank you. By the way, what's your name? Thank you for your kindness today. If there's a chance someday, I'll definitely make a visit to your house to thank you."
Anderson did not reply.
Clarissa felt a little embarrassed.
She tugged at his sleeve once more.
"Hey, we're in public now. You shouldn't embarrass her like that." Clarissa thought.
Otherwise, it would be so embarrassing with so many people watching.
Anderson's expression darkened as he said in a low voice, "Anderson Jordan."
As soon as she heard his name, Arnie's eyes suddenly lit up.
"You are... Anderson? The current head of the Jordan Family, the head of the Four Great Families?"
Anderson's frown deepened as he nodded his head.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you. My father and I have always admired you. I didn't expect to meet you here."
Her gaze fell on Clarissa, who was standing beside him. "Your wife is so beautiful. She's really blessed."
Anderson agreed with this statement. "Thank you for your compliments, but you're wrong. Having her as my wife is my blessing."
Arnie paused for a moment. The smile on her face was a little stiff.
"Since that's the case, I shall not disturb you any further. Thank you very much."
She turned around and returned to her seat.
The jade hairpin was finally bided by Arnie.
Clarissa noticed that Anderson seemed to be unhappy. She thought that he was angry about what had just happened. She could not help but whisper, "Are you angry? Is that necessary? It's just a hairpin."
Anderson ignored her.
Clarissa was embarrassed for a moment.
Was he really angry? Angry at her?
After all, they had been together for so long. Anderson, who was cold and stern outside, had always been gentle and soft to her. Except for the previous incident, when had he ever been angry with her?
But just for a hairpin? That shouldn't be the case!
He was not such a narrow-minded person!
Clarissa couldn't figure it out, so she looked at Marty on the opposite side and asked for help.
Marty covered his mouth with his hands. He was laughing so hard that his body was twitching. Nobody knew what he was laughing about.
She was a little pissed.
She always felt that the two of them were hiding something from her and she was the only one being kept in the dark.
Her expression darkened and she said in a deep voice, "Marty!"
In the end, Marty couldn't hold back his laughter anymore. However, he dared not laugh too loud in public. It was a long time before he stopped laughing and said, "Clarissa, do you know who that woman is?"
Clarissa was at a loss. "Didn't she say that her name is Arnie? That she was the daughter of some general in Ashax Country?"
"Hahahaha..."
Marty laughed so hard that he covered his stomach.
Clarissa was speechless.
"Is it very funny?"
Marty didn't stop until quite a while later. He held back his laughter and said, "When I was young, General Velazquez became a monk after a war. So he couldn't possibly marry a wife. Why would he have a daughter?"
Clarissa was stunned.
"It can't be! So, she lied to us just now?"
"I don't think so. It's just that in this world, you could have a lot of goddaughters even if you don't have any biological daughters."
Clarissa suddenly understood.
"Oh, I see. Then what are you laughing at? She's General Velazquez's goddaughter. How is that funny?"
Marty said, "I'm laughing not because of her identity, but because you were in such a hurry to push Anderson away. Be careful, or you'll regret this one day."
Clarissa frowned slightly. She roughly understood what he meant, but she felt that something was wrong.
"Huh? Do you think everyone is like you, who would throw yourself at a beautiful woman whenever you see one? Anderson would never do this."
Anderson was pleased to hear her words.
Anderson reached out and pinched the back of her neck. He said in a low voice, "There's no need for Marty to throw himself at her, she will do that herself first. That woman is cunning. Stay away from her."
Clarissa was stunned. "Why?"
Anderson frowned, as if he didn't know how to explain it to her.
Marty couldn't help but interrupted, "Do you know how many goddaughters General Velazquez has?"
Clarissa shook her head.
She had only heard of the name 'General Velazquez" today. How did she know how many goddaughters he had?
Marty made a gesture and said, "Twenty-eight."
Clarissa was so shocked.
Although goddaughters weren't as good as real daughters, there were still twenty eight of them, right? There were far too many of them!
Marty continued, "On surface, Arnie is his goddaughter, but in reality, it's just a tool that General Velazquez used to draw people to his side.
These women had been trained by him since they were young, learning all sorts of techniques to please men. Once they reached the majority age enough, they would be introduced to disturb the various military and political affairs of the various continents.
Over the years, a lot of people have fallen into his trap, so they have no choice to take his side and become a stepping stone for him to gain power. Humph! Now she is trying to fool Anderson. But she's way too inexperienced!"
Clarissa was stunned when she heard that.
She didn't know things could work this way.
This was way too despicable!
However ...
She looked at Arnie suspiciously before looking at Marty. "She is really that powerful? Why do I feel like it sounds a little shady?"
Marty smiled and said, "Don't look down on women. Look, our wise and mighty Mr. Jordan is willing to fall into the hands of a woman when he meets true love. Well, people say that there will be people who are willing to die for love. It's not a lie."
Clarissa's expression darkened as she glared at him.
What sort of crappy metaphor was that?
She was not that kind of woman with ulterior motives!
Anderson said in a deep voice, "Enough! Shut up."
Marty made a face, then shut his mouth and stopped talking.
Clarissa thought that since Arnie was so cunning, she could not be sure whether what she said about her sister's illness was true or not.
Soon, before Clarissa could probe further, a pair of crescent-shaped diamond earrings caught her attention.
