Chapter 958 To Guide With Patience

Then, she turned to look at the driver who came in with Anne. "What happened on the way?"
The driver lowered his head, looking a little guilty.
"Nothing happened on the way. But when we came in, we bumped into Ms. Chantel."
Upon hearing that, Clarissa frowned.
Chantel?
Looking up at her, he quickly added, "Ms. Chantel told Miss Anne something."
As he spoke, Clarissa's face darkened. Recalling what Anne had said earlier, she already knew what Chantel said to her.
Then, she said in a deep voice, "I understand now. You may leave."
After the driver left, she went to Anne's room.
In the room, Anne was sitting on the bed and was sulking.
When she saw Clarissa coming in, she ignored her and turned to look away.
Looking at her angry look, Clarissa smiled helplessly.
"Tsk. What happened to my little angel? Who has the guts to make her angry?"
Clarissa sat down with a smile, turning Anna around to face her and asked in a soft voice.
Anne shrugged off her hand and replied angrily, "No one! I'm not angry."
Seeing her reaction, Clarissa couldn't help but smile. "You're not angry? Who was the one who shouted at me just now?"
Anne twitched her mouth and felt a little wronged.
Then Clarissa let out a sigh.
"Anne, what did Mommy tell you before? No matter how angry you are, you can't ignore people. If there is anything that makes you unhappy, you have to say it. The problem can only be solved if you say it out, right?"
Anne hesitated for a moment.
After a long while, she turned to look at her reluctantly.
Clarissa asked seriously, "Tell mommy, what happened?"
At this moment, Anne's eyes were red as she pouted, looking like she had been wronged. "Mommy, Great-aunt Chantel said that you will not love me anymore when the baby is born, and you wanted to send me to Great-grandma's place because of that. Is it true?"
When the words came out, Clarissa was stunned.
Initially, she assumed Chantel would only say something bad to Anne, which made her angry, but she didn't expect that she would say something like this.
At the thought of it, Clarissa became serious. "Do you think she's telling the truth then?"
Hearing that, Anne was stunned, and a trace of confusion flashed across her face.
Then Clarissa continued to guide her thought process. "Listen to your heart. If Mommy is having a little sister, will I stop loving you and abandon you?"
The questions seemed to get to Anne as she was still in a daze and remained silent for a long time.
Clarissa rubbed her head. "Think about it carefully. Tell me when you have an answer."
After a while, Anne finally opened her mouth and uttered in a low voice.
"No, you won't."
"Then why would you believe what she said?"
"I..."
Anne was at a loss for words for a moment, as she looked at Clarissa, and the corner of her lips twitched with grievance.
"I'm just scared. Mommy. I don't want to leave you."
As she spoke, she suddenly burst into tears and threw herself into Clarissa's arms.
Clarissa's heart softened, and suddenly, her eyes were turning red as well.
Hugging Anne in her arms, she stroked her back repeatedly. She didn't say anything and just let Anne cry.
After a while, Anne stopped crying and looked up at her.
Clarissa gently wiped away her tears. "Anne, you are mommy's baby. Just like your brother and sister, I love all of you. I am sending you to Great-grandma's place because I am worried that I can't take care of all three of you. Your brother is so naughty that he will disturb Great-grandma if he goes there, so I wanted to send you instead. But if you don't want to go, you can choose not to as long as you behave yourself in the future, so I don't need to worry too much about you. Is that okay?"
After that, Anne nodded heavily and wrapped her arms around Clarissa's waist.
"I'm not going anywhere. I want to stay with Mommy."
Clarissa couldn't help but laugh. In a soft voice, she said, "Okay, you won't go anywhere. You will stay with me."
After the talk, Clarissa finally calmed her down.
Because Anne was crying earlier, she felt tired, so Clarissa coaxed her to take a nap. She waited for Anne to fall asleep before leaving the room.
When she came out, she closed the door softly, only to see Pattie standing nearby, looking at her with concern.
"Mrs. Jordan, is Miss Anne alright?"
Clarissa shook her head and pointed outside, indicating that they should talk outside.
Then, the two returned to the living room. Clarissa sat down on the sofa and took a sip of tea before saying, "It's Aunt Chantel. She told her that I'm pregnant with a baby girl now and that I don't want her anymore. She even says that I send her to live in grandmother's house because I am abandoning her."
Upon hearing that, Pattie widened her eyes in shock.
"How could she say that? Doesn't everyone seek peace in the family? Instead, she is still trying to sow discord!"
Clarissa gave a mocking smile.
Pattie continued angrily. "It doesn't matter what others say, but I believe you're not that kind of person. Furthermore, I have seen how you treated Miss Anne all these years. There is no doubt that you treat her like your own child."
Then Clarissa spoke in a soft voice, "Anne didn't have a biological mother since she was a child. Such a poor kid. So she will be more sensitive and careful than other children in this respect. I can forgive Aunt Chantel for everything she has done in the past, but she shouldn't have provoked Anne and used her to achieve her purpose."
At this point, Clarissa was also a little angry.
Pattie agreed and said, "Yes, that's true. Ms Chantel really went too far this time."
After some thought, Clarissa let out a sigh.
"Well, let's talk about it later. I'm tired now. I'll go back to my room to take a nap."
Pattie nodded and helped her back to her room.
In the evening, when Anderson returned home, Clarissa told him about this matter.
She didn't complain, but whether it was the words Chantel said to Anne, or that she wanted to borrow one billion dollars from her, Clarissa thought Anderson should know.
After hearing this, Anderson was incensed.
He shouted directly, "We are not lending her the money!"
Seeing his reaction, Clarissa smiled and said, "You don't need to reject her so soon. Although I am angry that she talks nonsense to Anne, if she is really doing proper business this time, it doesn't hurt to give her the money."
But Anderson replied coldly, "What can she do? She's probably using it to gamble again."
Clarissa shook her head. "Not necessarily."
However, after Anderson pondered for a moment, he still agreed in the end.
"You can do as you see fit. If it is a legit business, you can give it to her."
After a pause, he added, "Don't let her get near the kids too much in the future, lest she rubs bad influence to them."
As Clarissa looked at his angry face, she felt less angry. With a smiled, she agreed. "Okay, okay, okay. Noted. Now go take a shower. We'll have dinner after you're done."
Only then did Anderson walk into the bathroom.
At dinner time, Anne's mood was much better, and she also knew that her Great-aunt Chantel had lied to her. So not only was she not angry, but also felt a little embarrassed.
Clarissa just pretended that she didn't see anything as they happily enjoyed dinner as usual.
Then, Anne took a piece of pork ribs and placed it on Clarissa's plate, then said with a smile, "Mummy, eat this."
