Chapter 576 Of Course, We Have to Take a Shot

"It wasn't until what he said that moved me. Only then did I know that he is the backbone of all directors in Ascijan. That's the reason why I admire him."
Then, Freddie repeated what Khalid had said to him at that time to Clarissa.
When Clarissa heard it, she too was shocked.
It was hard to believe that the words came from such a young director.
He said, "In the past few years, locally produced science fiction movies have always been outdone by foreign countries. It is not because we are weaker, but because we lack updated technology and creative ideas. He hoped that he could be the first person to break the barrier and take locally produced science fiction movies to another level, and to be recognized internationally for the first time. He wanted to let them know that the people from Ascijan yearn to visit the universe as well, and are capable to produce good science fiction movies."
After Freddie finished speaking, suddenly, the office was quiet.
Sitting there, and leaning against the back of the chair, Clarissa did not say anything for a long time.
But Freddie didn't push her. He placed a list that included all the estimated budgets, and the things needed in front of her.
After a while, Clarissa said, "You may leave first. I will have to think about it."
After all, it was a 5 billion dollar investment, so it shouldn't be taken lightly.
Of course, Freddie knew that it was difficult to persuade Clarissa in his first attempt, so he did not force her. Standing up, he gave a nod before turning around and went out.
After Freddie left, Clarissa started to look at the information again and read it carefully.
By the time she finished reading the materials, two hours had passed.
Stretching herself tiredly, Clarissa stood up and stretched her body.
She had to admit that based on this information, Freddie had poured his heart into preparing it.
It didn't matter whether he did it for his friend's last wish or he really wanted to contribute to building Ascijan's sci-fi movies' reputation.
In short, just by looking at the information, this was a feasible project.
After some thought, Clarissa made a phone call to Anderson.
At the moment, Anderson was in a meeting at Jordan Group headquarters. When he received a phone call from her, he raised his hand to stop one of the executives of Jordan Group who were reporting a statistical presentation. Then he went aside, and asked with a softened voice, "Clarissa, what's wrong?"
Sat on the chair, Clarissa was rubbing the space between her eyebrows. She smiled and said, "Am I disturbing you?"
In front of a large group of people who were staring at him and waiting for him to hang up the phone to continue the meeting, he replied, "No, I just got free. I was just about to call you."
After hearing that, the executives were speechless.
Upon hearing his reply, Clarissa smiled and said, "That's good. There's one thing that I'm a little hesitant about, and I want you to help me make a decision."
"Sure, tell me."
Then, Clarissa told Anderson the truth about the project.
After listening to her explanation, Anderson did not voice his opinions. Instead, he asked her, "What do you think?"
While hearing the question, Clarissa hesitated for a moment, but in the end, she chose to tell the truth.
"The risk is big, but if it succeeds, it's not only about monetary benefits, it's a milestone for the science and fiction genre."
When Anderson heard that, his lips curled up slightly.
Then, he made a decision without hesitation. "Then, let's do it."
"What?"
Without expecting that he would agree so soon, Clarissa was surprised.
"Wait, did you understand what I meant?"
Anderson smiled, but It was the kind of smile that was filled with adoration and confidence.
"I understand, but since you said that it might succeed, then, of course, we have to take a shot."
"But what if it fails? This investment is not a small amount. And from what I see, everyone has lost confidence in this material, so there might not be many external investments. Energence International Crop needs to cover everything."
However, Anderson continued to smile, as if it didn't bother him at all.
"It's precisely because there is a big risk that we have to do it."
A little confused, Clarissa didn't quite understand what he meant.
Anderson let out a deep sigh casually.
"Didn't you say that if it succeeds, it will make a huge milestone? Other than Energence International Crop, who else has the confidence to do it? If we are afraid to take this risk, even if it only has a ten percent chance to succeed, it will never happen."
Suddenly, Clarissa was completely shocked.
Anderson continued, "Even if it's a loss, at least we've tried it. There won't be any regrets, don't you agree?"
It was quiet on the other end of the phone.
After a long time, Clarissa's voice was heard.
Somehow, she smiled unexpectedly, and her tone was slightly complicated.
"Anderson, I really..." After a pause, Clarissa said with a smile, "I really like you more and more."
Hearing this, Anderson's eyes squinted joyfully.
In the meeting room, the top-level managers, who were waiting for Anderson to finish his phone call and continue the meeting, did not hear what Clarissa said on the phone.
However, they saw their boss, who usually had a cold expression, suddenly smiled gently and dotingly.
Hissing sound was heard.
Everyone couldn't help but to have cold chills running down their spine.
Glaring at them, Anderson then said to the phone, "If there's nothing else, let's call it a day."
Hearing that, Clarissa nodded. "Mmm, in that case I'll make the final decision?"
"Yes, it's up to you."
After hanging up the phone, Anderson returned to the conference table. With his usual impassive look, he swept his gaze at everyone around the table and sat down.
The manager, who was reporting the statistics earlier, immediately returned and continued to report the work.
Everyone acted as if nothing had happened just now, as they sat tight, but they were already gossiping secretly.
And on the other side.
Under Anderson's guidance, Clarissa immediately understood what he meant.
Indeed, with such a large investment and such a great risk, only Energence International Crop had the strength and financial capabilities to do so in the industry.
If this succeeded, it would be a great improvement.
And if it failed, there was nothing she could do. Someone would do it sooner or later anyway.
However, if no one was brave enough to take the first step, the rest would never dare to do it. In that case, the sci-fi genre would never have its days in the country.
With this thought in mind, Clarissa called Freddie and asked him, along with the screenwriter, to make time for an appointment at night, and she would talk to them in detail.
Upon hearing this, Freddie was overjoyed.
Initially, he thought that it would be a long time before he would hear from her, and it might not necessarily be good news.
But he didn't expect that he would receive Clarissa's call so soon.
On the other end of the phone, he asked in disbelief, "Really? Is this project really approved?"
In response to the question, Clarissa said with a smile, "I'm not sure, but I'm very interested. I want to know more about it, okay?"
