Chapter 442 She Is Here

Jack looked up at her and replied politely, "Thank you!"
After finishing his words, he couldn't wait to open the gift.
It turned out to be a complete set of painting tools.
Clarissa smiled and said, "I heard that Jack likes to paint since young. I don't know what to buy, so I just picked a set of painting tools. Hope this is not too shabby for you!"
When everyone heard this, they all laughed. The Ethanbez Family was rich and affluent, and they had seen all types of valuable things before. They didn't care about the value of the present.
Anderson also handed over the gift he brought.
However, he was much more straightforward and gave Jack a black card. When Bowen saw this, he was a little fearful. He said that it was too expensive and refused to accept it.
However, he was rebuked by Anderson's words.
"Keep it. It's for your marriage in future."
When the group of people heard this, they immediately burst into laughter.
Seeing this, Bowen smiled and accepted it.
Elicia sat in the middle of the sofa and stroked Jack's head with a smile. She asked with a smile, "Jack, when you grow up, do you want to get married?"
Jack's hands didn't stop fiddling with the paint brushes ever since he had unwrapped Clarissa's gift.
Upon hearing that, he looked up with a smile and said, "Yes! I want to marry a woman as beautiful as Clarissa!"
Hearing this, the crowd couldn't help but laugh again despite his childlike words.
Everyone was sitting in the living room, talking and laughing.
Clarissa was, after all, an outsider. She wasn't like Anderson, who was able to discuss politics and economy with Bowen, Jameson, and the others. She felt a little restrained.
After sitting for a while, she got up and walked to the small garden in the back.
It was already autumn. There were no fresh flowers in the garden other than a few fall mums. Clarissa could tell that the Ethanbez Family was not into gardening.
This reminded her of the flower shed in the Starbay Villa. Even at such a time, it was still full of all kinds of flowers. Not only there were seasonal flowers for sight-seeing, but also the edible plants such as the Chinese peony. There were many of them, which were far too many to be mentioned.
Anderson's and her room were right in the direction of the flower room. Every night, when they lay down on the bed, they could smell the faint fragrance of flowers. It was an intoxicating experience.
Suddenly, Clarissa felt that the Starbay Villa seemed to be much more cosier than the magnificent villa of the Ethanbez Group.
She strolled through the long corridor and sat down on the swing in the garden.
Soon after she sat down, she heard footsteps behind her.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that it was Anderson.
She didn't move, sitting on the swing, slowly moving.
Until Anderson's voice sounded above her head.
"What are you doing?"
Clarissa raised her head and looked at him. The amber sunset was reflected in her eyes.
She smiled and said, "I'm on a swing! Do you want to help me to push it?"
She meant it as a joke. Much to Clarissa's surprise, Anderson just raised his eyebrows slightly and agreed.
"Okay,"
He held the steel chain with his slender fingers and gently pushed it forward.
The swing was swung too high, and he knew how to control his strength, which kept the swing swinging within a safe range.
Clarissa pursed her lips and said nothing.
The swing was swinging to and fro in the sunset. Both of them were very quiet, as if they had nothing to say or anything to say.
The two of them enjoyed such a quiet and sweet time, which brought them into a better mood.
After sitting in the garden for a while, a servant came to find them and asked them to go to the dining hall for dinner.
Clarissa got up and followed Anderson into the dining hall.
The meal was a happy and harmonious one.
After eating, Elicia had arranged for the cutting of the cake. Everyone was having a good time in the front hall, but Yasmin was dragged by Lia to the second floor.
After all, the relationship between the two was between mother and daughter. So no one would feel strange even if they left together while whispering to each other.
Maybe it was Clarissa's misconception, but when she left, she could feel Yasmin taking a glance at her.
There was something strange in her gaze.
It was nearly ten o'clock. Everyone was tired of playing and left one after another.
Clarissa and Anderson had also returned to the hospital. After a long day, she was also a little tired. After taking a bath, she fell asleep.
Lauren had quietly come to F Country when Clarissa was asleep.
The relationship between Lauren and Jameson had not been recognized by the Ethanbez Group.
The Ethanbez family had always wanted Jameson to marry the daughter of a business tycoon in F Country, but Jameson disagreed. None of them was willing to compromise for nearly a year.
Recently, Elicia was finally showing signs of compromising. Therefore, Jameson did not force his family to accept Lauren and instead, he had given them some time to think it over.
This time, Lauren did not inform him in advance of her arrival.
Therefore, Jameson was very surprised when he received her call the next day.
"Jameson, are you at work? I'm in F Country. I'm downstairs of your office building now."
Jameson was stunned and thought that she was joking.
"Stop messing around. I'm still working."
Unexpectedly, he heard a soft laugh from the other side.
Lauren tried her best to make her voice sound sweet and gentle. "I'm not kidding with you. If you don't believe me, ask your assistant to come down and have a look. And I brought you some snacks."
There was silence on the other end of the line before a noise came. It sounded as if he was talking to someone else.
Immediately, he said, "The 18th floor!"
Jameson hung up the phone.
Lauren looked at her phone and frowned. She was a little dissatisfied with his cold attitude.
But the next second, when Lauren thought of the purpose of her trip, she felt a little guilty.
She walked into the lift and pressed the 18th floor button.
When the lift opened, a tall woman stood in front of Lauren. She had wavy hair and dressed in a black business suit. She looked like she was shrewd and capable, but feminine at the same time. She was very attractive to men.
She bowed politely and said, "Is it Miss Jones? Mr. Green has asked me to pick you up."
Lauren was stunned for a moment, then she smiled and nodded.
However, she secretly lamented that Jameson had hidden such a beautiful woman in the office. No wonder he liked staying in the office so much!
Lauren followed the secretary to Jameson's office. The secretary then knocked on the door. It was Vans who answered the door.
Vans was the son of Ryder. He was currently working for Jameson.
The secretary and Vans nodded and then left.
Vans was wearing a formal suit and a tie in the office, which was not a common sight to see. He looked like a social elite. From his appearance, Lauren could not tell that he was a cunning person as he was before.
With a faint smile, Vans moved to a side and allowed her to enter.
The office was very big and was divided into two rooms. She was in the outer room, with the door to the inner room closed. But through the glass window on the wall, she could still see five or six men of different ages standing with their backs facing her.
Jameson sat behind the table and was flipping through a document in his hand. His well-trimmed brows slightly frowned while he chimed in from time to time.
The room was well soundproofed. She could only see his thin lips gently opening and closing, but she couldn't hear what he was saying.
