Chapter 526 Stubborn

Even though the Buick family could be considered as a rich family in the country, they had never eaten in such a place.
Sophia flipped the menu over and over again, but in the end, she gave up.
She couldn't bring herself to place an order.
Roland did not force her as well. He ordered some food eloquently and added, "Take out the bottle of wine that I've kept here. My wife and I are celebrating our marriage tonight."
"Sure!"
After the waiter left, Sophia said nervously, "Roland."
Roland's facial expression darkened. "Call me honey!"
Uh...
Fine! Sophia had no choice but to compromise for the time being. "Well, I want to make it clear that I don't think it's necessary to marry me because we had sex. You are a man, so you're not at a disadvantage, but I don't need you to be responsible for me either. If you really feel wronged, I'll compensate you in another way. What do you think?"
Roland faked a smile. "No way!"
Sophia was speechless.
"He is so stubborn, isn't he?" Sophia thought.
She pursed her lips. In a fit of the sulks, Sophia did not know what to say at the moment.
For some reason, only the two of them were present at this restaurant tonight. Sophia could only think of two possibilities— Roland might have the whole restaurant booked; or the business was poor as it was too expensive.
After a while, the waiter brought the wine over. While they were waiting for the wine to sober up, the two of them sat face to face and said nothing.
Once the wine sobered up, the waiter poured a cup for each of them and then left. Roland picked up the cup in front of him and asked, "Do you really want to know why I married you?"
Sophia nodded repeatedly.
She really wanted to know. After all, the man in front of her was undoubtedly outstanding in every aspect. It was too far-fetched for her to believe that he just wanted to be responsible for her.
She had never believed in love or hatred for no reason in this world.
Roland narrowed his eyes and looked at her with a faint smile. Holding the glass of red wine in his hands, he looked extremely charming. All of a sudden, he waved at her.
Sophia was a little confused, but she still got up and walked over.
Much to her surprise, when she came near him, she was suddenly grabbed by the wrist. Sophia let out an exclaim as she fell into his arms unexpectedly.
"What are you doing?"
She was a little panicked. Pushing his chest, Sophia struggled and wanted to stand up.
"Don't move."
Roland wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly as he said in a low voice, "Don't tempt me."
Sophia was stunned.
She actually felt the lower part of his body...
A deep and gorgeous voice rang in her ears at the right time, deadly sexy.
"Do you feel it? That's why I married you."
What?
Sophia's face suddenly reddened. She was ashamed and angry at the same time. She pushed Roland away and stood up abruptly.
"You.. You jerk!"
Roland slightly curled his lips and looked at her flushed face with satisfaction, and his eyes were full of joy.
"We're husband and wife. It's normal for a husband to make mischief with his wife, isn't it?"
Sophia's face was flushed with anger. For a moment, she was at a loss of words.
Fortunately, at this time, the waiter came to serve the dishes, which slightly alleviated the embarrassment.
Sophia went back to her seat and looked at the exquisite food in front of her. She completely lost her appetite. But when she looked up again, she saw that the man opposite her was gracefully savoring the food. While eating, Roland raised his glass and gave her a charming smile. Roland said, "Honey, cheers!"
Sophia was even more speechless.
Since he didn't want to talk it out, then she would stop trying. After all, it was not a loss for her to have an eligible bachelor as her husband. Therefore, she had nothing to worry about. She picked up the cutlery and was ready to eat.
"Whatever. I'm hungry now, so I'll think about it after my stomach is filled." Sophia thought.
From morning till now, she hadn't eaten anything. In addition, the chef here was a Michelin star chef specially hired from Flintland. Not only the food tasted authentic and delicious, Sophia didn't have much chance to eat here previously, so she wolfed down the food without caring how it looked.
Roland curled his lips slightly up into a weak smile when he saw Sophia was binge eating out of anger.
Sophia had a small appetite and soon she was full. When she put down the cutlery, Roland was still gracefully slicing foie gras.
The warm yellow lighting in the dining room was a little dim. Once her hunger was satisfied, she was in a much better mood. Looking at Roland having his meal gracefully, the light complemented his facial features well. There was a tinge of blue in his eye color.
Sophia was slightly taken aback. She wondered what color of his eyes was his eyes exactly?
She finally came to herself when her phone started buzzing in her bag. Sophia took it out to have a look. It was her father.
She quickly got up and went to the other side to answer the call.
"Hey, Dad."
She deliberately lowered her voice because she didn't want Roland to hear her.
"Sophia, why did your phone turn off? I couldn't get through it for a long time!"
Collin sounded a little angry. Hearing this, Sophia was slightly startled.
Did she turn off her phone? No!
She had just taken it out of her bag.
Sophia didn't have time to think about it. She was still angry with the fact that he didn't believe her this morning, so she asked indifferently, "What's the matter?"
"Where are you?"
Sophia hesitated for a moment, then chose to answer honestly, "I'm at a restaurant."
"All by yourself?"
Sophia fell silent.
She could vaguely remember that it was Roland who had taken her away from the wedding. Collin's question was definitely not out of concern for her. Furthermore, anyone could tell that Roland was not an ordinary man. She did not wish for her family to have any misunderstanding.
But Collin was shrewd enough to tell something was amiss when Sophia hesitated for a little while.
The voice at the other end of the phone was a little gentler, and he sounded quite sure, "Are you with Mr. Blaine?"
Sophia looked at Roland, who was not far away. She frowned and denied, "No."
"No? Then what are you doing outside alone?"
Sophia didn't know what to answer. She wasn't good at lying, so she just kept quiet.
Collin's voice sounded again. "It's normal for you to have a boyfriend. There's no need to hide this from us. You know, because of this, it caused a huge misunderstanding this morning."
"He's not..."
"Well, I'm glad that you're alright. When you're free, bring Roland back for dinner. Do you hear me?"
"Dad, we..."
"Okay, I still have something on. That's it! Talk to you later."
Collin was quick in hanging up the phone that Sophia was still in a daze when she saw the call was ended on the screen.
What did Collin just say?
"Bring Roland home for dinner?"
Sophia was at a loss of words.
She was on the verge of bawling her eyes out...
She then returned to her seat with her mobile phone.
