Chapter 15 Her Own Company

"Clarissa!"
"Clarissa, calm down... Don't be impulsive!"
"Clarissa, that's not what Mr. Duncan meant!"
As soon as Clarissa finished speaking, all the top managers became anxious.
They all tried to persuade Clarissa to stay.
There might be some people among them who were dissatisfied with Clarissa, but it was just because she was young and she became a top manager by her own ability. They were jealous of her.
But no one wanted her to quit.
Because she was very capable. In the past two years, it was because of Clarissa that the public relations department could be better and better.
If the public relations department was capable enough, the actor department and the agent depart could avoid many troubles.
Especially for the agent department, what they feared the most was that their actors got into trouble. In the past, as long as there were any negative news about their actors, Clarissa could definitely solve it. Sometimes she could even make the negative news come right for actors.
But she wanted to resign!
On the one hand, no one could solve the problems of the two other departments after she left. On the other hand, although they heard about Erin before, they had never cooperated with her and didn't know much about her ability.
What if Erin was not as capable as Clarissa?
Everyone was in a panic, and Elliot's face darkened.
"Clarissa! Don't make a fuss! Think twice before action!"
Clarissa sneered and said, "What? Mr. Duncan, you said so much just because you want me to resign on my own, didn't you? In this case, you wouldn't make yourself so heartless and ungrateful. I've resigned as you wish. What else do you want?"
Elliot's face darkened to the extreme.
"I said that I don't want to force you to resign! Erin has more experience than you. She should be the manager of the public relations department."
Clarissa shrugged indifferently.
"It's up to you! Anyway, even if you don't bring her here today, I'll resign! Mr. Duncan, I wish Twilight could strive for further improvement!"
After saying that, she sneered and closed the notebook in her hand naturally. Then she strode out without looking back.
The door of the meeting room was slammed shut.
There seemed to be Clarissa's remaining prestige in the office, cold and determined.
Elliot gritted his teeth and clenched his fists tightly.
He had expected this result before bringing Lara and Erin here.
He just didn't expect that she would be so determined.
Looking at the resignation letter beside him, Elliot's eyes were cold. But after a short while, he felt a faint sense of joy in his heart.
In the past two years, although Clarissa had worked hard and made great contributions to the company, she had always been more capable than him.
She was the manager of the public relations department, but she always talked to him about the company's development plan and the current situation of the whole company in private.
Sometimes he was really annoyed. It was not because she was wrong, but that she was right!
He didn't want to feel that he was not as good as a woman when running the company.
He even felt that it was really good for her to leave.
At least in the future, he would not faintly feel that he could make such an achievement because of her.
After a long time, Elliot's unhappy face gradually eased.
His assistant asked him in a low voice, "Mr. Duncan, what should we do now?"
He took a deep breath and turned to look at all the top managers.
"Since Clarissa insists on leaving, we can't ask her to stay. From today on, Erin will be in charge of the public relations department. At the same time, she will continue to work as Lara's agent. Pablo, take Erin to complete the entry procedure."
All the top managers looked at each other in dismay. However, since it was a done deal, no one dared say anything more. They could only agree.
Clarissa walked out of the meeting room and went straight back to her office.
At this time, all the top managers were still in the conference room, so there were only ordinary employees in the office.
Seeing that she came out with a cold face, Millie was worried and hurried to follow her.
"Clarissa, has Mr. Duncan really announced that Erin will be in charge of our department? Are you leaving?"
Clarissa walked into the office and asked her to close the door, then she nodded.
"Yeah. You can work with Erin in the future. I don't know what kind of person she is, but she is capable. You guys might not even have a chance to work with her even if you want to pay her ten years ago. Just make use of this opportunity!"
Hearing this, Millie was so anxious that she almost cried.
"What about you?"
"Me?" Clarissa looked up at her and smiled, "I have my own place to go. The world is so big. Is Twilight the only entertainment company in this world?"
"Clarissa, have you found your next job?"
Clarissa lowered her head slightly and smiled.
"I don't intend to... look for my next job. It's better to set up my own company rather than work for others, right?"
Millie's face was full of shock.
Clarissa patted her on the shoulder and chuckled, "Just work hard. When we have time in the future, we can still get together."
As she spoke, she had already packed up her things. She took the windbreaker off the shelf, put it in the crook of her arm and was ready to leave.
However, Millie suddenly ran over and stopped her.
"Clarissa, do you want to set up a company on your own?"
Clarissa reached out a finger and made a "shh" gesture.
"Don't tell others. Before you do something successfully, you'd better not breathe a word of it to anyone. Otherwise, I may fail to do it. Don't cause me any trouble."
Millie stared at her with serious eyes and nodded heavily.
"I know, Clarissa. When you set up your own company, you will need employees, won't you? Then I will come over and work for you!"
Clarissa was stunned. She was a little surprised.
In fact, she was too aloof in her daily life and didn't have a trusted subordinate in the company.
Millie was quite loyal to her. However, it was simply because she had just graduated from college and she was not scheming.
So Clarissa didn't expect that she would make such a request.
She looked at Millie's sincere eyes and then smiled.
"The work in the new company will be very hard, and you will get much tireder than working here. Aren't you afraid?"
Millie shook her head firmly.
"I'm not afraid."
After a pause, she whispered, "Clarissa, although you don't get too close to us in ordinary times, I can see that you are a good person. If we have any difficulties at work, you will always teach us. No matter how hard it will be to work with you, I can learn something."
"But Erin is different. I went to inquire about her when I heard the news this morning. I heard that she is selfish and indifferent, and she likes to bully employees. Others work hard, but full credit must go to her. I don't want to work for such a manager."
Clarissa looked at her disgusted expression and smiled.
"Okay, but it will take some time for the new company to be established. If you are still willing to work with me at that time, I will inform you."
A smile immediately appeared on Millie's face.
"That's settled then."
"Okay, it's a deal."
