Chapter 1055 Could Not Catch Up

"I remember that there's a bay about 372 miles away from Karc. It is the nearest city to Karc and has a sea.
Upon hearing that, Clarissa was suddenly in a state of high spirits.
However, she did not show it since there were cameras in the room.
"Mom, are you sure?" she asked in a low voice.
Sierra nodded. "I'm very sure this place doesn't have an airport, so we'll have to drive. But, because it's only 372 miles away, it should just take a few hours assuming the direction is correct."
Clarissa fell silent for a while.
If she guessed right, they should be in that place now.
After all, if Anderson and Robert learned Clarissa had gone missing, they would immediately close the airport and all exits.
They could easily block the routes around the airport. However, the city was surrounded by deserts, so exits were available in all directions. As a result, closing all exits in a short period of time was difficult.
Therefore, Coby definitely had time and opportunity to leave through these exits.
He was unable to board the plane after he had left. If he had to choose a place in a hurry, he would go to the city Sierra had mentioned.
As she considered it, a glimmer of hope arose in her heart.
This was because she believed that Anderson and Robert would be able to recognize this as well.
Anderson and Robert had already searched the entire Karc at this point, but they had found no trace of Clarissa and Sierra.
Thus, they had grounds to believe that Clarissa and Sierra had left Karc.
But since they closed the airport very timely, the other party could not possibly take a plane to leave, forcing them to travel by land.
Eflium, 372 miles from Karc, appeared to be the quickest driving destination on the map.
Thinking of this, Anderson promptly issued an order. He ordered some people to continue their quest in Karc, while the rest followed him to Eflium.
At this time, Jara and Emmeline had also arrived.
Jara agreed with Anderson that Coby was most likely hiding there after hearing Anderson's analysis.
So, the group of people went to Eflium together.
At the same time, in a luxurious villa in Eflium.
Coby had already received the news that they were coming over.
At this point, a subordinate stood in front of him, respectfully informing him of the other party's movements.
Following the report, the subordinate expressed concern, saying, "Mr. Marsh, if they come, they will find us sooner or later. What should we do?"
Coby calmly stated, "What's there to panic about? They'll take at least three to four hours to be here. Pack up their belongings and take them to the ship now."
Only then did his subordinate turn around and leave.
Clarissa was soon informed that they had to leave.
Two men came in and tied her hands again. They did not, however, tie her feet this time, possibly for convenience.
Seeing this, Sierra couldn't be more anxious. She tried to stop them by yelling, "What are you guys doing? Didn't you say Clarissa is a guest? How can you treat her like this?"
"Mom, you don't have to say anything," Clarissa remarked lightly.
Coby had been fine the day before, and now he had abruptly shifted their setting. What did this mean?
It was only possible that Anderson had already realized they weren't in Karc. Instead, they had come to look for them.
Just as she was considering, she gave Sierra a look. With a nod, Sierra indicated that she was aware of her plans.
While no one was paying attention, Clarissa threw a handkerchief in a blind spot of the camera.
Then, Sierra and Clarissa were escorted to the ship together.
This was a massive ship. In fact, it was more like a fancy cruise ship than a ship.
Clarissa wondered how Coby could get such a cruise ship in such a short period of time. He appeared to have planned ahead of time this time.
But why?
In fact, if he really wanted to take her away, he could have taken them out of here last night. No matter how quickly Anderson reacted, he wouldn't have guessed they had already left the city. Besides, they would have already traveled a long distance base on the cruise ship's speed. Till then, Anderson would not have been able to catch up to them even if he wanted to.
At that point, wouldn't everything be at Coby's disposal since she was in his hands?
But why hadn't he done it sooner? Why did he wait till Anderson caught up with them today before taking her away?
This approach didn't seem like he wanted to take her away, but rather that he was drawing Anderson here on purpose.
At the thought of this, Clarissa was puzzled. Sierra, on the other hand, was concerned as well.
Later, the two of them were tied up and left on the deck, surrounded by bodyguards in black. They surrounded them, their waists bulging with something. At first sight, it was clear that the
As long as the two of them had any little tricks up their sleeves, the men would take out their weapons and kill them at any time.
Sierra was terrified. "Clarissa, what should we do now?" she questioned in a hushed voice, looking out at the endless sea around her.
"Don't panic. Calm down. Let's see what Coby wants to do first."
Clarissa comforted her gently.
Pursing her lips, Sierra nodded. At the end of the day, she forcefully suppressed the panic and unease in her heart.
Noticing this, Clarissa didn't say anything.
At this time, there was a steady sound of footsteps behind her.
Without a doubt, she knew who was coming.
Clarissa didn't turn around. Her face was even bright with a smile. Even though the smile appeared to be a touch forced, it was still incredibly natural and relaxed.
"Mr. Marsh, you came all the way here to get me and forced me to stay here, but you did nothing. But as soon as Anderson caught up with me, you took me away. I'm not sure why you're doing this."
She paused, her lovely eyes softly smiling as she gazed at Coby, who had already approached her from behind.
"Are you secretly in love with me and planning an elopement?"
When Sierra heard these words, her brows twitched.
Coby narrowed his eyes. He didn't admit it, and he didn't deny it either.
Clarissa's heart skipped a beat as she saw his face, which was as gentle as a lamb. "What the f*ck!" she cursed in her heart.
Was that true?
How could Coby possibly like her? Although she didn't know much about him at the time, she could tell he wasn't sentimental.
At such a young age, he was able to control Rowan and manipulate the entire Marsh family.
