Evelyn's facial expression changed when she saw that. She quickly reached out to pat her back to help with her breathing.

Evelyn hummed and said, "Mom, take good care of yourself. I'll come to see you next time."
Iris smiled and said, "I'm all right. You should take care of yourself too. You can come over at any time when you're free."
Evelyn nodded and exchanged a few more words before hanging up.

Marty was still working overtime in the company. Aria came in with a document and put it on his desk with a poker face.
"Mr. Blaine, I've done with the investigation you asked me to do. This is the information you want."
Marty glanced at the thick stack of documents and waved at him in dismissal. "I got it. You may leave."
Aria turned around and left.
There was dead silence in the office. Marty didn't straighten his back until he finished his work. He leaned back in the chair and pinched the gap between his eyebrows before his gaze fell on the stack of documents.
He reached and picked up the materials.
It was all about the things that had happened to Evelyn over the past ten years when they had driven apart.
Including how Iris had fallen ill and how Forbos had hurt the mother-daughter pair.
The more Marty looked at it, the glummer his expression was.
