Chapter 35 Even If I Die

Anderson smiled. Even his face, which had always been indifferent, became delighted.
"Okay, I'll be back soon."
"Okay."
"Okay, bye."
After hanging up the phone, he looked at the phone and smiled happily.
The sun was bending in the west, and the evening sun warmed the ground to a radiant glow. Even his heart was warm.
He put away his phone, turned around and walked into the conference room.
All the top managers were waiting for him. Standing in front of the projector, the manager of the marketing department was about to report his work plan, but Anderson raised his hand and interrupted him.
"Well, you must be tired today. So much for today. Go back and revise the plans I reminded just now. Report them to me again tomorrow morning. That's it. You can leave now!"
As he said this, he had already left in a hurry.
All the top managers were shocked.
What was going on...
Did Anderson declare the meeting over like this?
In the past, whenever Anderson held a meeting, it would always last until eight or nine o'clock in the evening.
Sometimes, it even lasted until the middle of the night!
They thought, "Why does Mr. Jordan end the meeting so early today?"
"It's only five o'clock in the afternoon now!"
Not only the top managers were stunned, but David was also slightly shocked.
Just now, when Anderson went out to answer the phone call, he accidentally caught a glimpse of the caller ID on the screen. He knew that it was a call from Clarissa.
But he didn't expect her to be so charming!
She could make Anderson, who had always been known as a workaholic, stop working and went back home to have dinner with her!
David decided in his heart, "Well, it seems that I have to change my strategy in the future!"
"It doesn't matter whether Mr. Jordan is satisfied with me or not. I must flatter Mrs. Jordan first!"
......
After Clarissa called Anderson, she called Chloe.
At this time, the Chapman family was in a depressed atmosphere.
Conner asked Elliot to go back, so he was not here. Chloe, Lara, Gianni, and Lena were sitting in the living room.
The atmosphere was very awkward, and no one spoke.
Therefore, when the phone rang, it sounded very abrupt and harsh.
Chloe glanced at Marcus impatiently, and then Marcus quickly walked over to answer the phone.
A few seconds later, he trotted back and whispered, "Mrs. Chapman, it's Miss Chapman."
Chloe sneered.
"How dare she call back!"
Marcus lowered his head and dared not speak.
Lara said in a soft voice timidly, "Grandma, could it be that Clarissa has realized that she has gone too far this time, so she called to apologize?"
Gianni cursed angrily, "Does she think I will forgive her just because she apologizes to me? Our company has suffered such a great loss. Can she afford to pay me back?"
Chloe's eyes lit up when she heard Lara's words.
She seemed to have thought of something. Then she got up and walked over to answer the phone.
"What's the matter?"
Clarissa smiled.
"Mrs. Chapman, have you been well last night?"
Chloe's face darkened as she said coldly, "You don't have to call back and mock me. Such a thing has happened and we're disgraced. But as a member of the Chapman family, it's also demeaning to you!"
"Really? I'm a little surprised. It turns out that I'm still a member of the Chapman family in your heart!"
Her words were obviously sarcastic, and Chloe got so angry.
She almost wanted to curse Clarissa immediately.
But she suppressed her anger and asked in a deep voice, "What do you want to say?"
"Nothing. I can't inherit my mother's effects until I get married. Since I have got married, shouldn't you give it to me now?"
The expression on Chloe's eyes changed slightly.
She did not refuse, but said coldly, "When do you want it?"
"The sooner the better."
"The earliest date is the day after tomorrow. The notary is not in Visstead now. I need time to inform him."
"No problem!"
Then both of them stopped talking and got silent.
Just as Clarissa was about to hang up the phone, Chloe suddenly sighed.
"Clarissa, I know that you hate me and the Chapman family so much, and I admit that I have done a wrong thing."
"But no matter what, I am still your grandmother, and they are your father and sister. You can hate us, but that's the business of our own family. How can you collude with outsiders to hurt us?"
Upon hearing this, Clarissa suddenly laughed.
"Mrs. Chapman, when you discussed with Matthias to frame me, did you ever think that we're family?"
Chloe couldn't say a word.
"If you want to move me and hope me to persuade Anderson to let you go, I'm sorry. I can't do it."
"How dare you!"
Chloe was so angry that her face flushed. She gritted her teeth and said in a low voice, "This is also your mother's property! Can you really bear to see them be ruined?"
Clarissa's tone suddenly turned cold.
"Since you know that it belongs to my mother, you should return it to me! Otherwise, even if I die, I will not let you go!"
After that, she suddenly hung up the phone.
Chloe covered her chest with her hands. She was so angry that she was short of breath and her face turned pale.
Seeing this, Lara came forward in a hurry to hold her and exclaimed, "Grandma, are you okay?"
Lena stepped forward quickly and helped Chloe walk to the sofa and sit down. Then she took the medicine and fed Chloe.
Only then did Chloe look a little better.
She hit the ground with her walking stick fiercely and said with a face full of grief, "Clarissa is a b*satrd!"
Gianni had heard what they said on the phone. He asked worriedly, "Mom, what should we do now?"
Chloe shook her head and looked tired.
"Don't ask me. I don't know either. Let nature take its course!"
......
At the same time, Clarissa was in a good mood after hanging up the phone.
She looked at the clock and guessed that Anderson was about to arrive home. Then, she went downstairs.
It was six o'clock in the afternoon. As soon as she went downstairs, she saw a black Rolls-Royce parked at the gate of the yard.
David opened the car door for Anderson. Anderson got out of the car under the setting sun. The evening sun warmed his tall figure to a radiant glow, and he looked so noble and attractive.
There was a coat in the crook of his arm. He smiled when he saw her standing at the door, wearing casual clothes and looking like a virtuous wife.
"Are you waiting for me?"
He walked to her and rubbed her head with his hand.
Clarissa was slightly stiff, and she was not used to the intimate and spoiled way of getting along with him.
So she took a step back slightly before she said, "I came out to see the sunset."
Anderson smiled more brightly.
He knew that the balcony upstairs was the best place to enjoy the sight of the sunset. What's more, she could see more beautiful scenery and could see it more clearly on the balcony.
He just rubbed her hair with a smile before he bent down to change his shoes.
After changing into slippers, he took her hand and walked inside the house.
The dinner had been prepared in the kitchen. It was a hearty dinner because it was Clarissa's first meal in Estdal Manor.
