Chapter 450 She Got Jealous

Lauren rubbed her eyes and checked the time. It was 4:30 p.m.
She got up and walked out of the room. She saw Jameson taking the invitation card from the table and looking at it curiously.
"Your friend came here at noon. She gave it to you."
Lauren lazily left a sentence and was about to turn around and return to the room.
Jameson looked at her, put down the invitation card, and asked, "You didn't go out today?"
Lauren said angrily, "Didn't you ask me to stay here?"
In fact, Lauren just felt a little sleepy, and she was not interested in the scenery here, so she was too lazy to go out.
Jameson's lips curved into a teasing smile.
He seemed to be very satisfied with the fact that she had listened to him.
He took off his coat, threw it aside, and sat down on the sofa. He reached out his hand and beckoned to her. "Come here."
Lauren threw a side glance at him.
After a long while, she still walked over slowly.
Lauren walked up to him and stopped right in front of him. Jameson suddenly pulled her hand, and the next second, a cold object was put on her wrist.
Lauren felt a chill on her hand which made her wide awake.
Raising her hand, she saw a very exquisite bracelet inlaid with three star-shaped sapphires. Although it did not appear to be extravagant, it looked refreshing and stunning. Judging from its workmanship alone, it must be worth a lot.
She was a little stunned and asked, "What is this for?"
Jameson said nonchalantly, "Someone else gave it to me. It's called 'The Milky Way'. I think it will fit you, so I brought it back to you."
"Oh, I see."
Lauren paused. "Is there anything else? If there's nothing else, I'll go back to the room."
Jameson waved his hand.
Lauren turned around and walked to the bedroom.
She entered the room and closed the door.
Once she was alone in the room, her originally calm face suddenly twitched a little before the corner of her mouth curled up slightly. She raised her hand and carefully looked at the bracelet on her pale wrist.
The sapphire was embedded in the platinum bracelet. Looking at it carefully, there seemed to be a faint shooting star flashing across the sapphire. It was so beautiful!
For some reason, she felt her heart swell a little.
At this time, Jameson's voice came through the door.
"Don't sleep anymore. Get yourself changed and join me for dinner."
Lauren put down her hand and suddenly thought of something. She was about to speak when he added, "Just the two of us."
She swallowed back the words that she was about to say.
After a while, she said, "Okay."
The two of them went downstairs together and went to an open-air restaurant for dinner at the resort.
Halfway through the meal, Lauren suddenly felt that there was a burning gaze behind her and could not help but turn her head to look.
Gilly was sitting at a table not far away from them, surrounded by a group of young men and women. Judging from their outfit alone, it could be seen that they were a group of artists. Lauren could vaguely hear that they were discussing arts.
Lauren smiled politely at her.
However, what was rare was that Gilly did not respond, she stared at the bracelet on her wrist instead.
Confused, she turned around and glanced at Jameson.
Jameson was still eating the steak gracefully, as if he did not notice Gilly who was not far away.
After a while, Gilly came over.
"Jameson, what a coincidence. You guys are also here for dinner?"
Jameson seemed to only see her at this time. He picked up a napkin to wipe his mouth and said, "Yes. You and your friends are having a gathering here?"
Gilly nodded and smiled softly, coupled with her bony figure, she seemed to be piteous as ever.
"Will you be coming tonight?" Gilly asked in a tone full of anticipation.
It might be Lauren's illusion, but she felt that Jameson seemed to frown slightly at that moment.
Then he nodded and asked, "What time?"
Gilly couldn't hide the joy on her face. "It will start at nine o'clock."
"Okay! I'll go."
"Then I'll wait for you."
After that, she took a deep look at Jameson, and then her eyes swept past Lauren next to her. Without stopping, she turned directly and walked back to her table.
Lauren had been treated like air from the beginning to the end.
Even she herself did not understand why she had done to Gilly to deserve this.
When they left after dinner, Gilly was still enjoying her meal at the table. A gentle and feeble woman was surrounded by a group of men and women dressed in flamboyant outfits, whispering and smiling softly. It was supposed to be a very bizarre scene, but surprisingly, it looked extremely harmonious.
Jameson took her hand and said, "What are you looking at? We're leaving!"
Only then did Lauren react and was dragged out of the restaurant.
Lauren could feel her gaze burning holes right through her back, which made her very uncomfortable.
The two of them did not return to the hotel. Instead, they went to a lake in the resort and hired a boat for rowing.
The lake was crystal clear, and all kinds of fish could be seen swimming in it. At a glance, the management seemed to be doing a great job in preserving the environment. The two people sat on a wooden boat and didn't stop rowing until they reached the center of the lake. Looking around, they could see the mountains in the distance. With the cool breeze in the evening, it was very delightful.
Lauren leaned over on the ship bow and stretched out her hand to gather a handful of water. Surprisingly, she managed to catch a red goldfish. She was instantly overjoyed.
"Hey! Look, I caught a small fish."
Jameson put down the oars, squatted down beside her, and faintly smiled.
"Do you want to put it away?"
"Yes! Of course!!"
The euphoric feeling when she became a kid at heart.
Seeing this, Jameson did not say anything. He quickly returned to the cabin and took a bottle of mineral water. After opening the cap and pouring the water out, he refilled it with half a bottle of lake water before letting Lauren put the fish in.
"Hurry up! Let's see if we can get more."
After Lauren's first successful attempt, her interest was piqued. She leaned over the bow and had her hands in the lake water.
Jameson did not stop her. He was quiet today. Sitting next to her, Jameson was watching her quietly, holding the water bottle in his hand.
But Lauren did not manage to catch any for a long time.
In fact, this kind of fish was agile and small. Moreover, the lake was so big that it was very difficult to catch the fish with one's hands. Lauren naturally understood that she got lucky when she caught the fish. Therefore, even though she failed to catch any fish in the end, she was not too disappointed.
After she got tired of playing, she sat down at the bow of the boat as Jameson did. She stretched out her arms and legs comfortably.
"This place is so comfortable. I feel so relaxed as soon as I step out of the room."
Jameson nodded. "You've been working hard during this period of time. You deserve to relax in the next few days."
Lauren was taken aback. Only then did she realize that it had indeed been a long time since she had such a relaxing time.
Thinking of Gilly who was acting weird just now, she couldn't help frowning.
"What's the relationship between that woman and you? Why do I always feel that she has a crush on you?"
Jameson's face remained expressionless, and he only gave her a faint glance.
"So?"
Lauren glared at him.
"Are you jealous?"
Her expression changed. After a while, she snorted.
"Nobody is jealous."
However, her mood became even worse.
Jameson explained, "I owed Gilly's father a favor. I just didn't want to embarrass her for her father's sake. There's nothing more between the two of us. What's more, we haven't seen each other for many years. She has a fiancé too. The reason why I accepted her invitation today is that I once promised her father that I would help her whenever necessary, but it doesn't mean that there is something between the two of us."
