Chapter 912 The Guardian Angels Are Watching Over Her
At the castle, Anderson and Clarissa completed their preparations and were waiting for Jara.
As soon as Jara stepped into the main hall, Anderson asked him, "How did things go at Luca's place?"
Jara threw his stuff on the table and said gravely, "Just as we thought. He isn't involved in this matter. Those men were under the immediate command of headquarters."
Wearing a thin smile, Anderson added, "I received news from the men I sent out. The three spies had informed them that they were ordered to kidnap Emmeline. The order was issued by Bret, one of the elders in the Marsh family."
Jara thought furiously with his brows knitted.
"Bret Marsh?"
"Yes, that's right."
Then, Anderson placed the information that had just come in on the table and explained quietly, "Beneath the tranquil facade of the Marsh family are many complicated and competing factions."
"Our investigations reveal that everyone swears allegiance to the head of the family, Rowan. However, Rowan lives in Uqobia all year round and is seldom in the country. He hardly manages the family over the past few years. The family elders who are the next in line are the one who manages the family now."
"There are four elders, namely Glen, Callum, Shay, and Bret. They are either brothers or nephews of the former patriarch. Bret is the one who planned this kidnap."
"As far as I know, the four are not close to each other although they are blood relatives. Glen and Shay are close to each other while Callum and Bret follow their own paths."
"However, they respect and support Rowan as the head. So, there are no outright disputes or whatnot until now."
"About half a month ago, such a dispute happened a few days before Emmeline's disappearance. We don't have the details but there was a flurry of activities at that time, which we suspect should be related to the latter part of their plan."
"Our investigation shows that Emmeline's disappearance can be traced directly to Rowan. We can deduce that any subsequent actions by the Marsh family will have the support of Rowan and Callum."
"Skylar may be right when he said that Emmeline's kidnap is a direct threat to you and time for a confrontation with the Lost Vanguard. Of course, there could be other reasons that we do not know about."
After listening to his analysis, Jara looked incensed.
He growled, "They are looking to kill two birds with one stone."
"That's possible."
Nodding in agreement, Anderson replied, "He sent someone to intervene when the Icarus Association took action against Emmeline and fanned the fire of anger towards us. When both of us are badly weakened in our fight, he will enter the fray as the third force. After he has annihilated the Icarus Association swallowed their territories, he will come and deal with us."
"At that time, our ability to fight against them will be badly affected. Your hands are tied with Emmeline in their hands. Then, it'll be easy for them to swallow the Lost Vanguard."
His words made Jara's face darken with rage.
At the same time, Clarissa was stunned too.
She could not imagine that behind this disappearance case was such a huge conspiracy.
Her voice sounded worried as she asked, "What shall we do now?"
Both Anderson and Jara looked at her.
Anderson smiled and replied, "Since we know what they are up to, we'll disrupt their plans, and take the fight to their doorsteps."
The following day, Jara set off with his men.
This time around, Anderson and Clarissa did not need to be involved. The Marsh family was big and powerful. However, this time they acted covertly and played dirty tricks.

Watching her, Jara felt a lump in his throat.
That night, she was brought back to the castle. Back in the castle, Jara had a doctor examine her immediately.
The doctor found nothing wrong with her but that she was in a coma from too many sleeping pills.
That was probably the reason why her mind was unstable too.
The doctor's diagnosis filled Jara with rage.
Just as well, Anderson and Clarissa were around to prevent Jara from doing something rash.
Fortunately, the doctor concluded Emmeline was not in danger. After sufficient rest and medication, she should recover fully.
Everyone was relieved with the good news.
It was getting late into the night.
Clarissa gazed at the frail and innocent woman on the bed then she realized that she was looking at Jara's love for the first time.
She smiled warmly and consoled him, "Thank goodness Emmeline's been rescued. Her guardian angel must be watching over her. Things will be fine. Don't worry so much, Jara."
Jara avoided her eyes and nodded.
