Chapter 477 A Precious Gift

After the ceremony, it was time for the banquet.
Although the ceremony was relatively simple, just from the banquet alone, one could tell that the Jordan Family really had put their heart and soul into it.
If they couldn't make the wedding ceremony grand and high-key, they would spend efforts in something else.
The dishes at the banquet were exquisite and looked appetizing with the perfect combination of color, aroma and taste. Obviously, it was not something that one usually saw.
They later learned that it was prepared by the state banquet chef that the Old Madam Jordan had specially hired.
Therefore, it was no surprise that it turned out to be perfect. Since the chef was willing to cook for such a small ceremony, one could easily tell that he had spared no effort in preparing for the banquet.
After the wedding banquet, Old Madam Jordan then arranged for everyone to leave.
Clarissa and Anderson's bridal chamber was still at the Starbay Villa.
It was surrounded by mountains and rivers, and had beautiful scenery. Outside, there was a winding mountain road, so the place was safe and secure.
The most important thing was that this place was very near to the Jordan Group's company.
For them, the wedding was just a formality anyway. So it didn't matter where the bridal chamber was.
The two of them walked out together. David had already been waiting outside in his car, ready to send them home.
Unexpectedly, as soon as they got to the door, they met a person who would never expect to meet here." Clarissa, we've met again."
Clarissa let go of Anderson's hand and looked at Harrison who was standing in front of her. The joy on her face instantly fell. "Mr. Hampden," Clarissa said. "I heard that you are getting married today, so I prepared a special gift. It seems that I'm late." Harrison said.
As Harrison spoke, he took out a gift box from the car.
Clarissa glanced at him with no expression on her face. "Thank you. That's nice of you." She said.
Her tone was so cold that the atmosphere froze.
After all, today was a joyous day. Nobody wanted to ruin that.
Anderson gave David a look. The latter quickly stepped forward and was about to take the gift box from Harrison.
When Harrison saw this, he did not say anything but passed the item to him. He said to Clarissa, "I know that you do not wish to see me now, but no matter what, you are still Justin's child. I should come to your wedding no matter what."
Clarissa sealed her lips together. "I understand."
"Hey, isn't that Mr. Hampden?"
A laugh suddenly came from behind. Everyone turned around and saw Old Master Jordan getting out of the car with the help of the butler.
Harrison curled his lips and said, "It's been a while since we last saw each other, you seem to be in better health."
Old Master Jordan looked at him with a smile. "It's all thanks to your family that have given me such a good granddaughter-in-law. Of course I'm happy. I'll be healthy as long as I'm happy."
It was obvious from his words that he was showing off, so Clarissa couldn't help but twitch the corner of her mouth.
"Grandpa, it's windy outside. Please hurry and get in the car!"
"Don't worry, Harrison. Since you are already here, why don't you come with me to my house? After all, we are old friends! Let's have a meal and talk about the old days. What do you think?"
Harrison smiled and said, "Since you are so kind to invite me, it would be disrespectful of me to decline."
Old Master Jordan nodded and looked at Clarissa next to him.
The look in his eyes immediately softened.
"Clarissa, why don't you and Anderson go home and have dinner together?"
Clarissa turned to look at Anderson. When she saw him nod his head in agreement, she agreed.
So the group of people went back to the old mansion.
As soon as the group of people sat down in the living room, the servants served tea.
Old Master Jordan looked at Harrison proudly as he drank his tea.
"Alas! You came here today to give Clarissa's wedding gift, right? What is it? Come! Bring them for me to see."
It was obvious Old Master Jordan couldn't wait to tease Harrison about it.
Clarissa felt embarrassed for him, but the others acted as if nothing had happened. Even Harrison, who had been teased, looked calm.
"I've already given it to Clarissa. I can't bring them to you now even if you want to see it."
Now the ball was in Old Master Jordan's court.
Old Master Jordan turned to look at Clarissa.
"Clarissa, what did he give you? Show it to me. If there's something wrong with the item, just throw it back to him. Anyway, we don't need it anyway."
Clarissa was so amused by Old Master Jordan that she couldn't help but laugh. She turned to look at Anderson.
Anderson gave David a look before the latter immediately went out.
Soon, David walked in with a gift box in his arms.
The gift box wasn't large, it was only about half an arm's height. David placed the box on the table and left respectfully.
Old Master Jordan gave a cold snort. "Clarissa, go! Open it and take a look."
Clarissa had no choice but to stand up and open the box.
When she opened it, she saw an exquisitely crafted, black and shiny box inside.
The box was made of wood, but no one knew what kind of wood it was. It was of such a strange color of paint that it did not look like it was sprayed. Instead, it looked like it had been naturally formed.
Not only that, the wooden box was also giving off a faint, intoxicating aroma. It was a bit like sandalwood, but it was not so.
Clarissa couldn't help but frown. She couldn't help but be curious about what was inside the box.
Harrison, who was watching from the side, smiled.
She then untied the knot on the box with her slender fingers.
It was a translucent jade plate inside the box with a hole in the middle. On the surface, there was a  phoenix and dragon carved on it. The workmanship was exquisite, and it looked vivid.
Clarissa was in awe for a moment and couldn't help reaching out her hand to touch it. However, as soon as her fingertip touched the jade plate, coldness began to spread all over her body.
Clarissa was so shocked that she took a step back.
Anderson's expression changed. He quickly rushed forward to hold her and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
Clarissa shook her head and looked as if she was in a daze.
After a moment, she finally came to herself and turned to look at Harrison, who was sitting by the side with a mysterious smile on his face.
Harrison's gaze was blazing as he looked at her with a smile.
The atmosphere in the room was a bit quiet. Old Master Jordan was a little puzzled when he saw that everyone was silent.
"What's wrong? Clarissa, what did he give you? Why aren't you talking?"
Clarissa pursed her lips and moved away slightly. She said to Old Master Jordan, "Grandpa, Harrison's gift is way too valuable. I can't accept it."
Old Master Jordan was stunned, so did Harrison.
"What's too expensive for you to accept?"
Old Master Jordan walked up to the box curiously. When he saw the jade plate in the box, his eyes lit up.
"This..."
Old Master Jordan quickly stepped forward and said excitedly, "This... This is..."
Harrison curled his lips slightly and said, "Old Master Jordan, don't be too excited. If you get too excited, it'll be bad for your health."
His tone was obviously filled with ridicule.
However, at this time, Old Master Jordan didn't even bother to bicker with him. He just stared at the jade plate in the box and couldn't take his eyes off it.
