Chapter 639 He Was Jealous
Turning around, he glanced at her and snorted.
"So you still see me. I thought that you only see the others and no longer see me!"
While removing her scarf, Evelyn stopped and looked at him blankly.
After a few seconds, she came around and realized that he was jealous.
Suddenly, she did not know whether to laugh or cry.
"Who are you jealous of?"
Wrinkling his nose, Marty didn't say anything.
After taking off the scarf, Evelyn walked over, and squatted down in front of him. She placed her hands on his knees, and examined his face carefully.
Seeing that he looked grim, he said with a smile, "I was only having dinner with the crew members and drank a little. What are you talking about? What do mean I don't see you?"
Hearing that, Marty was speechless.
In fact, he knew in his heart that he was being unreasonable.
However, he had a strong sense of ownership over her that he didn't want to let her go.
He didn't like to see her smiling so happily with others.
Furthermore, he didn't like to see her drink in front of other men.
After some thought, he said, "Well, even if I'm jealous today, I don't like those men to keep eyeing you that way. Evelyn, you should understand what I mean. I didn't speak up today for the sake of your reputation and the commitment to my mother, but I won't do it next time."
Hearing that, Evelyn frowned slightly.
In truth, it was not as if she did not understand the meaning behind the photographer's words.
But this was how the entertainment circle was like.
Sometimes, it is very difficult to draw a line between right or wrong, and judge things.
There were a lot of gray areas in between. It was something she couldn't refuse, and it was impossible for her to refuse.
Hence, Evelyn didn't know how to explain it to Marty.
Because he was speaking from his point of view.
With his status and the environment that he grew up in, it was likely that he had never experienced such things in his entire life.
Never in his life that he needed to survive by accommodating someone's needs.
In the end, Evelyn sighed, and sat down next to him.
"Sorry, I didn't care about how you feel today. I'll pay attention next time."
After she said that, she lowered her head slightly.
Although she had admitted that she had made a mistake, in reality, he could hear the sense of helplessness and exhaustion in her words.
When he heard that, Marty's heart ached.
He didn't mean to blame her. But as a man, he had his dignity and he couldn't just stand by and watch his woman being bullied.
However, they didn't do anything that had gone too far.
Even if he wanted to get even with someone, he couldn't find a reason.
Looking at the disappointed face of Evelyn, he reached out his hands and held her in his arms.
"Evelyn, I know you like acting. If you want to pursue your dream, then just go for it. But remember, you are my woman, and my legal wife. In this world, no one can bully you except me, and you don't need to bow down to anyone.
I can give you anything you want, and I will pave the way for you. I won't allow it to happen again! I hope you can stay with me and don't let me lose you again."
While he was speaking, Evelyn was held tightly in his arms.
To the point where she could even feel the strength and temperature of his beating heart.
Suddenly, she felt the warmth through her heart, which made her relaxed.
After a while, she finally reached out slowly and hugged him as well.
With that, she whispered, "I know, I will."
After they cuddled for a while, Evelyn suddenly thought of something and said, "By the way, I have something to tell you."
Letting go of her, Marty looked at her, and asked, "What's the matter?"
But, Evelyn smiled. "Wait for me."
As she spoke, she stood up from his arms and walked towards the door.
When she came back, her bag was already hanging on the shelf at the door.
Walking over, she took her bag, and came back.
Then, she walked to him and sat down on the sofa, subsequently, removing a pair of keychains from her bag.
"When I came here last time, I realized this keychain was quite beautiful. At that time, I didn't know that you were here, so I bought it secretly. I planned to give it to you when I go back. I was so busy these two days that I forgot. I'll give it to you now."
There were two small characters on the key. One was a boy, and the other was a girl.
At first glance, it could be seen that they were a couple.
Although it was not something valuable, it was made exquisitely and it was sentimental.
All of a sudden, Marty's heart softened.
Then, Evelyn gave the keychain with a boy on it to him and said with a smile, "You won't think it's too childish to use it, will you?"
It was indeed slightly inappropriate for him to have such a keychain hanging on his body.
But to her surprise, Marty took the item and said, "It's not childish. It's nice."
As he held the keychain in his hand, and looked at it carefully, then looked at her again.
However, he stuffed his keychain into her hand suddenly, and took hers from her hand.
Confused, Evelyn asked, "What are you doing? That's mine."
Unexpectedly, Marty immediately hung the keychain with the female character onto his car key.
He held the other keychain in her hand and said, "Since it's a token of love, of course, I should have yours and you should have mine, otherwise, what's the point of having it?"
Hearing that, Evelyn was stunned for a moment, but after some thought, she realized it made sense.
However...
When she glanced at the car key in his hand which was worth tens of millions, she forced a smile.
"Are you sure you don't think it degrades your status?"
With a smile, Marty leaned over and held the back of her neck, then kissed her on the lips.
"As long as it's a gift from you, I don't mind it."
At once, the man's words warmed her heart.
Squinting and smiling, she stopped insisting and hung the keychain on her key.
After that, they hung out on the sofa for a while, then went to take a shower and sleep.
The next day, Evelyn finished her work on time.
In the afternoon, everyone got on the plane back home.
The trip abroad this time was neither too long nor too short.
And the next job on her schedule would only take place seven days later.
Evelyn specially asked Marissa to empty her schedule for a few days so that she could discharge her mother from the hospital.
And there was also another very important matter.
That was what they had agreed on earlier—to divorce Forbos.
When she thougth of it, Evelyn's eyes turned cold.
The investigation of Forbos's case had come out. He had committed multiple murders. The conviction was valid and he would be sentenced to death, but it was not executed yet.
If he was dead before he and her mother were divorced, their marriage would be dismissed automatically.
