Chapter 985 I Am Worried For Her

Clarissa frowned at Chantel's suggestion and said,
"Club B-Day? Isn't that place a bit rowdy? Aunt Chantel, I don't think it's safe for you to go there alone."
Exasperated with Clarissa's words, Chantel rolled her eyes and disputed,
"What do you mean by rowdy? I just need to bring some bodyguards. That's all. Besides, who would want to offend a family like ours? What do you think, Anderson?"
As she spoke, she smiled at Anderson collusively.
There was no objection from Anderson, and he understood Chantel's temperament—nothing could stop her from going out to enjoy herself.
So, he took out a card and gave it to her.
With a straight face, he told her, "Bring the bodyguards and stay out of trouble."
Immediately, Chantel flashed a smile and nodded, "All right, I'll bear that in mind. Thank you, my good nephew."
After that, Anderson and the rest went back to the hotel.
Back at the hotel, Robert fixed a time to have dinner with Clarissa. Then, he accompanied Sierra back to the room to rest as she was tired.
Clarissa and Anderson returned to their room too.
Once in their room, Clarissa could not help but complain, "You give in too easily to Aunt Chantel. We're new to this place. She is a magnet for trouble. That few bodyguards won't be enough if trouble breaks out."
Smiling at her indignation, Anderson hugged her from behind and explained, "Yes, my dear wife is right."
As he said these words, his hands were busy elsewhere.
He squatted down and held her waist tightly. Then, he pressed his ear against Clarissa's tummy.
"Let me listen. Is my son going to talk to me today?"
Clarissa stood still and allowed Anderson to listen to her tummy. She smiled and asked, "How do you know it's a boy?"
Looking up at her, Anderson answered, "Of course, I know what I'd planted."
His answer stunned Clarissa.
She felt an urge to beat him up!
Anderson kept at it for a while. Then, with a satisfied look, he stood up and helped Clarissa to the sofa. Afterward, he sat down.
With a laugh, Clarissa joked with him, "Did you hear what your son said?"
As he pretended to look serious, Anderson nodded and said, "Of course, I did."
"Oh yeah? What did he say?"
In a serious voice, he answered, "This is something I cannot tell you."
Of course, Clarissa knew that he was just pulling her leg, and in fact, he didn't hear anything at all.
She smiled and playfully threw a punch.
Her punch was no more than a scratch to Anderson, so he did not dodge.
The two of them teased each other for a while until Clarissa was tired and took a rest on the sofa.
As she rested, Anderson attended to some documents that David had sent which needed his attention.
The room quieted down.
Anderson did not stop until he had finished dealing with the documents. Only when he looked up did he realize that it was dark.
The time on his watch was eight in the evening.
It shocked him that it was so late, and he blamed himself for being too engrossed with his work.
Quickly, he stood and noticed that Clarissa had fallen asleep on the sofa. Perhaps she was too tired or waited for too long.
As she slept on the sofa, her frail body looked like a paper doll.
Her pale complexion was heart-rending and seemed in need of protection.
Lovingly, Anderson covered her with his jacket and felt for her temperature. It was normal, and he sighed in relief.
As he watched Clarissa sleeping soundly, he thought it must be these two days of traveling with him that tired her out.
All the more so, he could not bear to wake her up. He carried her to the bed and covered her with a quilt. Then, he turned and left.
At this time, Sierra and Robert were still in their room.
Anderson walked across to their room and knocked on the door.
Shortly after, the door opened.
It was Robert who opened the door. Dressed in a suit, he stood aside to let Anderson enter.
However, Anderson refrained and shook his head.
The noise brought Sierra out as well. Noticing that Anderson alone without Clarissa, she knew that something was up, so she asked, "What's wrong?"
Immediately, Anderson reassured her with a smile and said, "Nothing's wrong. Clarissa is fast asleep and can't join you for dinner. If you are hungry, why don't you go ahead and eat? I heard that there's a couple of decent restaurants nearby. In a while, I'll get someone to take you there."
It took a while for Sierra to understand. Not that she was stupid, just that her injury caused her to be wary and sensitive to unfamiliar people.
When Sierra understood, she smiled and said, "There's no need to. We'll take care of ourselves. Since Clarissa is tired, you keep her company and have a good rest."
Anderson nodded in reply and said, "Then take care of yourselves. Call me if there is anything."
Then, they nodded, and Anderson left.
When Anderson returned to his room, Clarissa was already awake.
Quickly, he walked over to her side.
"Did I wake you when I closed the door just now?"
Clarissa shook her head and looked at him.
"No." She replied, stopped for a while and looked puzzled at herself.
"Why am I asleep?"
Immediately, Anderson sat down beside her and patted her head reassuringly.
"You're too tired. You fell asleep waiting for me."
Then, Clarissa recalled and smiled sheepishly. Next, she thought of Sierra and Robert.
"Ah, what time is it now? Is it time to have dinner with Mom and Robert?"
As she spoke, she fished out her phone for the time.
Anderson reassured her with a smile, "Don't worry, I've gone over and told Mom not to wait for us. They'll go ahead and have dinner on their own."
His words were a relief to Clarissa.
That ten years when Sierra was missing was a personal loss to Clarissa. She could not help but worry and concern over the slightest about Sierra.
Her concern was perfectly clear to Anderson, but he did not say much. Instead, he tucked her hair, and asked her softly, "Are you hungry?"
In reply, Clarissa rubbed her tummy.
Now that he mentioned it, she did feel hungry.
She nodded.
Springing into action, Anderson asked her, "We have two choices. One is to order room service, the other is to eat in the restaurant downstairs. Which do you prefer?"
Instead of choosing, Clarissa asked, "Isn't there another choice? We can go out and walk around to look for a nice restaurant for dinner."
However, Anderson disagreed and shook his head, "You have walked enough today. You shouldn't walk anymore."
