Chapter 426 He's Going To Be A Dad

After Luke left the building, he went to the hospital first.
After learning that Anderson wasn't in a critical condition anymore, he let out a sigh of relief.
At this time, in the VIP ward.
Clarissa opened her eyes and subconsciously lifted the quilt. When she was about to get off the bed, she was stopped by a nurse.
"Miss, your condition is still unstable. You need more rest."
The nurse was about to help her to lie down when Clarissa grabbed her hand and asked anxiously, "Where's Anderson? Has he woken up?"
Luke, who was about to come in with the chicken soup, felt an unspeakable discomfort in his heart as soon as he heard her words. Tears were welling up in his eyes.
The first person she cared about was not herself when she woke up.
Luke took a deep breath, and soon he regained his composure. He walked in with a smile and looked at Clarissa who was still determined to go out, and comforted her softly,
"Anderson is fine. He just had a major operation so he is still in a coma. Don't worry, Clarissa. You have to take care of yourself first, so that when he wakes up, he will be relieved when he sees that you are fine."
Clarissa lowered her eyes subconsciously. As her fingertips lightly caressing her belly, her anxiety slowly subsided.
Now that she was no longer alone, she needed to take good care of herself. She wanted to tell him personally that she was carrying their child after he woke up.
The corners of Clarissa's eyes curved slightly, as if she could imagine Anderson's surprised expression when he found out about the news.
When Luke saw that she had calmed down, he glanced at the nurse, indicating that she could go out first and he would look after her.
After the nurse left, Luke asked Clarissa to have breakfast first. So many things had happened recently and Clarissa had eaten so little. Not only did she need to replenish the nutrition, her child also needed it.
Clarissa tried not to worry about Anderson too much. After eating, she wanted to go to Anderson's ward to have a look. Luke knew that he couldn't stop her, so he just took her there.
"I want to keep him company. You can go now."
Clarissa sat quietly in front of the bed. She felt her heart ache even more when she looked at Anderson whose face was pale. Her voice couldn't help but become a little hoarse.
"Alright, we'll be outside. Tell us if you need anything."
Luke and others then left, no longer disturbing her.
Clarissa held his hand, and her movements were very soft. She had been so tired for days. As soon as she held his hand, her energy seemed to come back to her. She felt safe.
She bent over, leaned against his body, nestling on him.
"Anderson, you have to get better!"
"You have to get better, our child and I are waiting for you."
Anderson woke up the next afternoon.
The dim light of the evening light shone through the window, making the whole room golden.
He opened his eyes and saw a person sitting on the edge of the bed. Her back was facing the warm and golden sunlight, with her head slightly bowed. Anderson could see that she was peeling an apple.
Clarissa was so focused that she didn't notice that he had woken up.
He looked aside and found that several peeled fruits had been neatly placed on the bedside table. Anderson didn't know how long she had been sitting here peeling.
Anderson's heart was warm and soft.
Clarissa was very good-looking, especially when she was focusing on doing something.
A sense of tenderness rose in his heart. He raised his hand, which had a needle inserted into it, to gently hold Clarissa's wrist with his slender fingers. "Clarissa."
Clarissa was slightly stunned.
Her back was almost stiff. She turned around and saw Anderson, who was pale but had already woken up.
He was awake!
The next second, before the man on the hospital bed could react, Clarissa suddenly pulled him into her arms. "Anderson."
Clarissa's body was delicate, but she was able to hold him in her arms at this moment.
Clarissa was holding Anderson in her arms tightly, almost squeezing him and binding them so close together as if they couldn't be separated forever.
"... Clarissa?"
"Anderson! Do you know how scared I was? At that time, there was blood on your body... and blood scattered all over the ground. I was really afraid that you would leave me... Do you know how happy I was when I saw you alive? I... Our..."
"I know... Clarissa."
Anderson moved away from Clarissa's embrace and wiped the tears of joy from her face. "I know."
Clarissa lowered her head and kissed Anderson.
She stood in front of Anderson and looked into his dark eyes, solemnly saying, "Mr. Jordan, congratulations."
As she spoke, she bent down as she brought her eyes level with him.
She was really close.
Anderson thought.
"I'm pregnant. You're going to be a dad."
Her voice was soft and pleasing to his ears.
"You're going to be a dad"
Becoming a dad?!
Anderson's brain went blank for a full three seconds. Three seconds later, he pulled Clarissa, who was caught off guard, into his embrace. He was so excited that his voice was trembling.
"Really?" ".
"That's right."
"Our child."
Anderson turned his gaze to Clarissa's flat belly as he spoke.
"It's our child." She repeated.
There was a knock on the door outside the ward.
Anderson could tell from the voice that it was David.
Only then did the two of them sort out their moods. Clarissa got Anderson to let go of her. Wiping away the tears on her face, she turned around and opened the door for David.
"Did you catch Dylan?"
Clarissa led him to the front of the hospital bed, sat down and took a toothpick. She then picked up a slice of apple with it before handing it to Anderson.
"She's caught. But her emotions are unstable right now, so I've moved her elsewhere. When she's feeling better..."
David was a little hesitant.
"Bring her here."
Anderson did not give David any more chances to hesitate.
He stared at the wound on his chest, and the tenderness in his eyes gradually disappeared, as it was replaced by a hint of ruthlessness.
After hesitating for a while, David still sent Dylan into the ward.
Clarissa was slightly stunned.
Dylan was no longer the person she had known.
Her beauty and elegance had completely vanished. Her hair was disheveled, as if she was a wild animal caught in a trap. She glared fiercely at Anderson, who was sitting on the hospital bed with a calm expression. Clarissa could tell that Dylan was trembling all over.
"Dy— " Clarissa was about to say something.
"Mr. Jordan... you're so lucky."
Dylan raised her head and said. She sounded a little sarcastic.
Clarissa turned to look at Anderson.
Seeing Anderson's calm expression, Clarissa shifted her gaze to Dylan.
"Anderson! People like you always dress decently, and take the moral high ground. But in fact, all you do is harm others for money. You have no regard for human life! You dare do anything for money and power!
Hahaha... Let me tell you, sooner or later, you will pay for what you have done before!"
All of a sudden, all hell broke loose. She had been holding all her emotions back for so long. No matter how calm and elegant Dylan used to be, at this moment, she was shrieking like a lunatic.
She was no longer Clarissa's best friend. The woman in front of Clarissa was so pathetic and pitiful that she couldn't see the old Dylan in her anymore.
