Chapter 191 The Cheesy Plot

On the contrary, Lara was quite concerned.
After all, the drama was still being shooting, and even the outtake had not been released. All the news could only be delivered by the sneak peek.
Therefore, as soon as the reporters came in, Lara put on airs and behaved like a gentle and kind fairy.
"Clarissa, the next scene is the most important scene in the whole drama. You must perform well and don't knock us back."
Clarissa glanced at her blandly and said unconcernedly, "You'd better worry about yourself!"
Lara smiled and said in a low voice, "Of course I will perform well because there are so many reporters present, but don't think that your acting skills are good enough just because you've been acting well these days."
"Being a good actress not only requires hard work, but also talent. This scene requires a lot of expression and acting skills. Everyone is watching us. If you can't perform well, I can't help you if there are any rumours about you."
Clarissa looked at her indifferently, as if she was a joke.
Seeing that she didn't speak, Lara thought that she was affected by her words. She smiled triumphantly and turned to leave.
After the camera positions were adjusted, the shoot begun.
In this scene, the female leading role Ashley finally bridged over all the difficulties and became the empress.
However, the original empress, Megan, stew in her own juice because her conspiracy was exposed. The emperor didn't love her anymore. She was deposed and sent to prison.
The new empress and old empress met in the cold palace. The new queen gave her a cup of poisoned wine and asked her to commit suicide.
The old empress didn't want the new empress to live a happy life before she died, so she told her that the real culprit who asked her to kill the whole family of the new empress was actually the emperor.
The plot was cheesy, but it was surprising and heartrending.
Such a scene was naturally the most important part of the whole drama.
Therefore, everyone prepared for this in advance.
Last night, Alvin asked Clarissa to go to his room in the middle of the night because he was worried that she would not perform well in this scene and wanted to teach her.
Although she had always acted well, those scenes were relatively stable and simple, and they didn't require violent mood swings.
Unexpectedly, they were schemed against.
Alvin was very depressed, and even the atmosphere in the whole crew was intense.
When everyone was ready, the shoot started.
Everywhere in the cold palace was shabby and dilapidated. The yard was overgrown with weeds, and a crooked willow was planted in the corner. It was spring, but most of the leaves were yellow. Obviously, no one took care of this place.
The green bricks on the ground were covered with moss, and people were easy to fall down if they didn't pay attention. There was an unpleasant musty smell everywhere, and the air was heavy with the stink of damp and foulness.
Clarissa didn't know how the crew found such a deserted courtyard.
The yard was not big, and she walked to the house in a few steps. The two maids behind her pushed open the door. An eunuch bent down and followed them, reporting, "The empress is here!"
However, no one came out to greet them.
The palace was gloomy and the light was very dim. When the door opened, a cloud of dust rose and the room smelled of mildew.
Clarissa frowned. The two maids next to her stopped in front of her and fanned the air, trying to fan the pungent smell away.
She raised her hand to stop their movements, and then lifted her hems and walked in.
She could already feel the depression and dilapidation of the cold palace from the outside, and this feeling becomes more obvious after she entered the palace.
Everything was covered with a thick layer of dust, and thick cobwebs hung in the dusty corners. There were some dead mosquitoes stuck on the cobwebs, and some tiny crawlers passed by.
There were no furnishings in the hall. Even the chairs and tables fell to the ground in a mess. The tables and chairs were all broken. At first glance, Clarissa could know that these things had been here for so many years and had never been replaced.
There was an unpleasant musty smell in the room. There was a simple wooden bed in a corner in the east, and someone was lying on the bed.
That person heard the footsteps and struggled to sit up.
The blue palace dress on her body was so dirty that the original color couldn't be seen anymore, and her hair was messy. When she saw Clarissa, her eyes suddenly glinted with resentment.
"What are you doing here?"
Clarissa waved her hand and ordered the maids to go out. Then she walked over with a faint smile.
"Your Majesty, I heard that you're sick, so I specially came here to see you. What's wrong, you seem to be quite surprised."
Hearing her words, Lara felt heartbroken as if her heart had been pierced through by a steel needle.
Back then, she was the powerful empress, the noblest woman in the entire empire. She could get everything she wanted. Her brother was the general in the army, and he was a man of great influence. Even the emperor had to respect her.
However, Clarissa was just an insignificant maid. She was under her control just like an ant. As long as she wanted, she could kill her ruthlessly.
But at this moment, Clarissa took her place and became the new empress.
She had to stay in this shabby palace and become an abandoned woman that everyone hated.
Haha...
How sad and ridiculous it was!
Lara laughed desolately with endless grief in her laughter.
After a while, she stopped laughing, stared at Clarissa coldly and said with a sneer, "I have been defeated by you and I have nothing to say. If you came here to laugh at me, you have got what you want. Get out! "
"How dare you talk to the empress like this!"
Clarissa raised her hand to stop the maid from scolding Lara.
She looked at Lara blandly and walked to her step by step.
"Do you still think you have anything to let me laugh at now?"
With Clarissa's footsteps, the light moved forward little by little, and finally stopped at the place which was a step away from Lara.
Clarissa bent down slightly and reached out to pinch her chin.
She was smiling, but there was no smile in her eyes. Under the light, her eyes were full of apathy.
Lara was forced to raise her head and look at her.
Obviously, she couldn't accept such a humiliating posture. She struggled a few times, but couldn't break free.
Instead, the pain on her chin penetrated from her skin and flesh into her bones, and then her mind became desperate. She only felt that her bones were about to be crushed by Clarissa.
Clarissa whispered word by word, "Now your life is not even as good as a dog's. Do you think I would be interested in a dog that wags its tail to beg for mercy? Huh?"
Her voice was grim and calm, like the ice in the lake surface. Lara felt a chill to the bone when she heard that.
Her heart trembled for no reason.
She was overwhelmed by an indescribable sense of panic.
