Chapter 1082 The Surgery Went Well

Anderson looked at her, and after a long while, he realized that his whole body was trembling.
Right away, he nodded.
When Nora heard their conversation, she pursed her lips and stepped on the gas.
At the same time, Clarissa directed Anderson to call their family.
Well, since her amniotic fluid was broken, she would have a premature delivery no matter what because the expected delivery date was actually two weeks away.
Therefore, they not only had to let Carlos and Matteo know, but they also had to ask Sierra and Robert to come over.
Clarissa wanted to call Robert because he could help out if anything went wrong with her labor process.
As for Sierra, her presence alone could calm Clarissa down.
Besides, asking Sierra to stay by Clarissa's side was better than letting her imagination run wild at home.
Anderson listened to Clarissa and did as he was told.
After he called everyone, the car arrived at the hospital.
Before that, he had called the hospital. So, they had prepared a stretcher at the entrance of the hospital.
Instantaneously, Anderson carried Clarissa onto the stretcher and pushed the cart into the hall with other medical staff.
At the same time, Robert and Sierra arrived.
Knowing that the hospital had an internationally well-known professional obstetrician, Robert didn't enter.
Instead, he just stood outside and waited, just in case he could help out with any emergencies.
While everyone was isolated outside the operating room, the door closed, and the red light on it lit up.
At that moment, everyone was like a cat on hot bricks.
Especially Anderson. Until now, his hands were still trembling.
Upon seeing that, Sierra went to comfort him. She told him that Clarissa would be fine and the operation would be successful.
But before that, they had to calm down first!
Although Anderson responded with a nod, how could he not be worried and anxious? He was Clarissa's husband and her children's father.
Originally, he wanted to go into the delivery room with her, but she had to receive emergency treatment. By the time he disinfected himself, changed into sterile clothes, and so on, he would take up much time.
Therefore, he was not allowed to enter.
After all, saving Clarissa was their priority, and he could only cooperate with them.
At the entrance, everyone was waiting anxiously.
Meanwhile, in the operating room, Clarissa had reached the most painful stage.
Although it was not her first time giving birth, she had never felt such pain before.
It was as if her organs were being torn apart.
Despite the rupture of her amniotic sac, her cervical canal was not opened. So, she had to undergo a cesarean section.
Soon, an anesthesiologist came to give Clarissa an anesthetic.
In fact, all the doctors and nurses were the best in the country. When Anderson found out that Clarissa needed to undergo a cesarean section, his face instantly turned pale.
Several times, the doctor assured him that it would be safe. Even so, when he thought that there would be a big incision at Clarissa's abdomen, he would still...
Just then, Sierra made a prompt decision and signed on Anderson's behalf.
"Stop hesitating, Anderson. Women know the best when it comes to giving birth. The more hesitant you are, the more you can't make up your mind. Go ahead, Doctor. I'll sign the consent form."
Needless to say, Sierra was Clarissa's mother, so she had the right to sign.
After a long time, Anderson finally came to his senses and nodded his head.
"Alright, I'll sign it."
Later, under his request, he changed into a sterile suit and entered the operating room.
In the operating room, Clarissa was lying on the operating table.
With heavy footsteps, he walked to her, took her hand, and called, "Clarissa."
At this time, Clarissa had taken the anesthetics.
However, she still had consciousness. As soon as she saw Anderson, her blanched face turned even paler.
"Why did you come in?"
"Don't be afraid, Clarissa. I'll be here with you."
Nevertheless, Clarissa didn't want him to be here.
"Don't look..."
As a woman, she knew how bloody and messy it was to give birth to a child. She did not want Anderson to see this side of her.
However, Anderson just tightly held her hand.
Clarissa didn't have the strength to resist, and soon, she was exhausted.
Throughout the surgery, he stayed by her side.
Fortunately, the surgeon had great skills. Although Clarissa's amniotic fluid was broken for a long time, she and her children were safe as she came to the hospital in time.
With that, she gave birth to dizygotic twins.
One was a male, while the other one was a female.
After the twins were born, she went completely unconscious. Then, the surgeon and Anderson sent her back to the ward together. As for the twins, he did not look at them at all.
That was because he was utterly heartbroken from seeing Clarissa go through a mid-death crisis, and he couldn't be bothered about anything else.
Fortunately, Sierra and Robert were still around, so they went to take a look at the twins.
At the same time, Matteo and Carlos were also here after receiving the news.
When they saw their great-grandson and great-granddaughter lying in swaddling clothes, they grinned ear to ear.
Clarissa was in a coma for half a day.
When she woke up, it was already the next morning.
After she opened her eyes, she stared blankly at the spotless white ceiling for a few seconds before realizing where she was.
Next to her, Anderson was back-facing her while helping her to get some nutrient fluid.
As she was in a coma before that, she temporarily couldn't eat, and she had lost too much nutrition. Hence, the doctor suggested that she should consume some nutrient fluid first to maintain her metabolism.
Staring at his back, Clarissa called him softly.
"Anderson."
The moment Anderson heard her voice, his back stiffened.
The next second, when he turned back and saw Clarissa, who had just woken up, he was ecstatic.
Right away, he put down the things in his hands and ran over.
"Clarissa, you're awake!"
Clarissa forced a smile. It wasn't because she was unhappy, but because she couldn't laugh, or it would affect her wound.
Before that, she didn't feel much pain as she was given an anesthetic.
Now that the anesthetic was gone, she started to feel the pain.
However, she did not say anything but asked him, "Where are the babies?"
For a moment, Anderson paused before he turned around and pushed a large cradle to her side.
Excited, Clarissa stretched her neck to catch a glimpse of her twins.
With that, she saw two cute babies were sleeping soundly in the cradle.
They were so fragile and thin that it seemed like they would break with a gentle touch, which softened Clarissa's heart.
"Are they all right?"
"Yes, they are doing fine. Thank you for your hard work, Clarissa."
As Anderson spoke, he sat down and held her hand.
Upon hearing his words, Clarissa smiled.
"This is no hard work at all. I like children, and I am proud to be their mother."
Those people who had never been mothers before would never understand how happy it was to be a mother
She knew that Anderson must be heartbroken, but she didn't regret it.
Despite the pain and suffering, the moment she looked at her two healthy babies, she felt that everything was worth it.
