Chapter 433 It's Not That Simple
Right at this moment.
Bang!
There was a loud gunshot and everyone was shocked. They all turned around to look and saw Issac's eyes wide open. There was a hole in his forehead where fresh blood flowed out. He was dead.
David was the fastest to react. He immediately took out his gun and stood in front of Anderson and Clarissa, looking around vigilantly.
This gunshot also alarmed the other bodyguards not far away, and they were all on the alert.
After a long time.
There was no more movement.
Anderson slightly frowned and said, "Don't look, it was a sniper. The person should have already run away."
David was shocked.
However, Anderson no longer had any expression. He held Clarissa in his arms, while the fishing boat was already driven ashore.
After getting off the boat, they saw several police cars parked on the shore. Behind Jameson, a large group of fully armed police boarded the fishing boat with guns.
A fat middle-aged man came down from the police car. When he saw Jameson, he immediately came up with a face filled with fear and ingratiation.
"Mr. Green, are you all right? I just received the news and immediately brought some men here. I didn't expect that someone would have the courage to kidnap your friend! When I catch him, I will bring him to justice!"
Clarissa touched her nose and whispered, "He's already dead!"
"Huh?" The man was a little surprised, and then he put on a bitter face with an embarrassed expression.
"Umm...Mr. Jameson, I know that you are very angry, but you don't have to kill... I know that he is a suspect. He deserves to die, but..."
"Did you witness that I killed someone?" Jameson was expressionless. "The accomplices of the suspect have an internal strife with the suspect and he was killed. Mr. Byler! Such a thing happened in your territory, I hope you can give me an account as soon as possible!"
Mr. Byler was stunned.
"There is an accomplice?" Mr. Byler thought.
But he only received the news that there was only one suspect.
He was about to ask, but Jameson ignored him. He was already asking Anderson and Clarissa to walk to the Hummer parked on the other side.
Mr. Byler still wanted to stop him, but David had already stopped him from behind. He smiled and said, "Mr. Byler, please ask me if you have any questions! I was also present when the suspect was killed. I can go back with you to take down!"
......
Clarissa followed Anderson into the car.
The car was steadily driving on the road, with two Hummers in front and another two behind, which protected the car they were in.
There was a lot of space inside the car and it was very quiet. Besides Clarissa and Anderson, there was only one driver in the car.
Clarissa had never met the driver before. He was probably not someone who had been hired by Jameson on a temporary basis. He looked resolute and was driving the car attentively.
There should have bodyguards in the car in front and behind. Clarissa intuitively felt that these people were a little different from those bodyguards she usually met, but she couldn't tell exactly what was different.
She felt a pang of uneasiness in her heart.
Anderson didn't say anything since he got into the car. He slightly frowned as if he was thinking about something.
Clarissa was afraid of disturbing him, so she didn't say anything. She silently rubbed the bruises on her wrist that were previously tied by ropes.
"Does it hurt?"
A low and deep male voice sounded. Anderson suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Clarissa was stunned. When she saw Anderson holding her hand to take a look at it, she hesitated for a moment before nodding her head honestly.
There were two deep strangulation marks on her pale wrist which had turned blue.
Anderson's brows furrowed slightly. "Is there anywhere else that you are hurt?"
When he rescued her just now, he only got to observe her roughly and confirmed that she did not suffer from any obvious injury, but he was not sure if she had been hit or injured somewhere.
Moreover, she was pregnant now. She was still in an unstable condition days ago. Although she had gotten better after a few days of recuperation, it might not be all right after she had experienced such a terrible incident.
Clarissa shook her head and said, "I'm fine. Issac didn't do anything to me apart from threatening me. Apart from that, I knocked my head on the cabin door, so it hurt a little."
Anderson's expression darkened slightly.
"Where's the injury?"
Clarissa pointed to a place on her head.
Anderson helped her over and asked her to lower her head slightly. His slender fingers gently ran through her hair.
"Hiss—"
Clarissa suddenly gave a light hiss and said, "It's right there. Don't press it, it hurts..."
"We'll go back to the hospital immediately." Anderson said in a serious tone.
Clarissa nodded, paused, and said, "It is probably just a small bump. I'll be fine in a while. It's nothing serious. Don't worry."
Anderson didn't listen to her. He gently touched the swollen bump on her head, as his eyes turned cold. Only then did he let go of her.
"Were you scared when you were on the boat just now?" Anderson asked.
Clarissa nodded, then paused for a moment, and shook her head. "I was scared before, but I'm not afraid anymore after you were there."
Anderson curled up his lips. He liked how Clarissa had placed so much reliance on him. His previous terrible mood was washed over by the happiness he felt at this moment. He reached out and held her in his arms tightly.
Clarissa was being held by Anderson in his arms just like that. She didn't know what was on his mind, but she didn't move. She could hear the steady, powerful thumping of his beating heart...
Her tensed heart seemed to be completely relieved at this moment.
She thought of the wounds on his body and hurriedly asked, "How are your injuries?"
Anderson shook his head.
"It doesn't matter. I've asked someone to bandage it specially before I came here. I'm fine."
Clarissa didn't believe it and tried to rip his clothes off, only to find that there were traces of blood on the bandages on his chest.
Her eyes reddened in an instant.
"I thought you said you're okay? You're still bleeding."
Anderson smiled lightly when he saw that Clarissa was about to cry.
"So you have to be obedient and don't let me worry about you. That way, I can go back to bandage my injury in peace and rest."
Clarissa nodded repeatedly in a hurry.
After nodding her head, she looked at him guiltily.
"I'm sorry. I always get you into trouble."
Anderson didn't say anything.
Moments later, he finally lifted his hand and caressed her hair. His pitch-black eyes lit up.
"It's not your fault. I've failed to keep you safe."
Clarissa quickly shook her head. "It's none of your business. I overheard Issac's secret. That's why he did this to me. Next time, I'll be careful. I won't let this happen again."
She explained hurriedly, causing Anderson's breathing to tense up a little. His heart ached for her and he felt a little bit helpless at the same time.
"It's not as simple as you said."
Clarissa didn't know what he meant. From her point of view, it was obvious that the reason she was kidnapped by Issac was that she overheard the conversation between Issac and Lia.
After that, Issac did not succeed in killing her on his first attempt. That was why Clarissa had the chance to tell Anderson the truth and was faced with his retaliation later on.
