Chapter 1059 Who Are You?

Of course, Coby did not know about these complaints at all.
After taking a sip of tea, he put down the cup and looked at Clarissa gently again.
"Definitely. I'm a man of my word. Miss Chapman, I'm glad you've given it some thought."
Clarissa stated coldly, "What did you mean in the villa when you said that? How did you know that I was being hunted ten years ago? You also claimed that Anderson was the one who sent the killers to murder me. What evidence do you have?"
Coby lifted his brows slightly as though pondering how to respond to her.
After a long while, he said slowly, "Did you really lose the three months of memory?"
"Yes." Clarissa did not evade the question.
"What do you recall from your visit to F Country ten years ago?"
"I remember everything after that. But before the incident..." Clarissa paused for a moment. "The only thing I remember is boarding a cruise ship, but everything else is a blur."
"So that's how it is."
Coby lowered his eyes slightly and seemed to be talking to himself.
Seeing this, Clarissa frowned. "So, can you tell me what happened at that time now?"
Coby remained silent for a few moments before looking up and smiling at her. Then, he added in a gentle voice, "Of course, I'll tell you since you saved me back then. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be sitting here today."
As she heard this, Clarissa gave a violent shudder.
"Save you? How is that possible?"
Her heart sank, and she suddenly thought of something. There was a flash of white light in her mind, followed by excruciating pain.
Clarissa instantly raised her hand to grasp the table's corner, and her face turned pale. She clenched her teeth and battled the want to say something.
Then, Coby stood up and walked to her side. He squatted down and covered her head with his hand.
"Relax and don't worry about anything. Take it easy, you'll feel a warm flow entering your scalp, and the pain will gradually subside. Yes, that's it. Don't resist it. Relax, take it slow..."
His gentle whisper echoed in her ears. At first, Clarissa still wanted to refuse him.
But, in the end, she felt as if she had been tossed into a pool of warm spring water, and she soon became calm.
After a long period, the pain in her head gradually eased.
With that, Coby let go of her and asked with concern, "How is it? Is it better now?"
Clarissa slowly opened her eyes. As soon as she opened them, she saw a pair of concerned eyes.
Immediately, she took a vigilant step back.
"What did you do to me just now?"
Seeing her retreat, Coby seemed to be hurt.
He was, nevertheless, good at concealing his emotions. So in a moment, he put away his expression and restored his calm and graceful demeanor.
"Your headache was triggered as you forcibly try to recall the memories that have been erased. I just infused some Qi into you to help you relieve the pain. It will only do you good."
"Really?"
Clarissa's brows tangled in an accusatory frown.
If she hadn't heard it with her own ears, she would have believed she was reading a martial arts novel.
Coby gazed at her with his brows lifted. He grinned as he noticed her doubt.
"You don't believe me? Then I'll show you again."
After that, he abruptly raised his hand.
The formerly wide-open window suddenly closed fast with a "bang."
However, the speed and strength were not caused by the wind but rather by someone rushing there and closing it swiftly.
Furthermore, the windows were built inside the room. Even if the wind was blowing, it should have come from the outside. It was impossible to blast the window out from the inside.
Not to mention the lack of wind in the room at the time.
Clarissa's face turned pale, and she looked at Coby as if she had seen a monster.
"Who... who are you? Just now..."
"I just closed the window with Qi."
Seeing Clarissa's startled expression, he giggled.
"You're still not convinced? Then I'll open it again."
As he stated that, he raised his hand again.
The window, which had just been shut tightly, was slammed open with a thud.
Clarissa's heart trembled as the window smashed on the wall next to her, making a loud noise.
Until now, she suddenly realized how scary the man in front of her was.
It wasn't because of his Qi, though it sounded a little incredible.
After all, it wasn't impossible to execute it with today's technological means and some magic acts.
She was terrified because she just realized he was not an ordinary man.
Coby seemed to know Anderson, Jara, and Emmeline very well.
Except for what they knew about the Marsh family, they knew little nothing about him.
What did this mean?
No matter how capable they were, it was as though someone had blindfolded their eyes with rags.
It was impossible to predict what Coby would do next because they didn't know his exact identity, background, or goal.
It was as though he was lurking while we were an easy target out there.
Clarissa's face grew paler and paler as she realized this.
Coby was completely oblivious to her thoughts. Seeing her countenance did not look well, he only thought that she was frightened.
He gave a soft smile and continued, "There's no need to be afraid. Although I have a strong Qi, it's useless in this era. After all, you have planes, rockets, cannons, and guns. No matter how powerful I am, I still can't beat those weapons."
Of course, Clarissa knew he was telling the truth.
But anyone who witnessed this scene with their own eyes would be astonished.
She swallowed a mouthful of saliva. Then, it took her quite a while to regain her composure.
Staring at Coby, she asked, "In our era? Aren't you from the same era as us?"
Coby shook his head.
On his warm and lovely face, a rare sense of nostalgia arose.
"My era and yours are too different. I won't be able to return even if I wanted to."
He stared out the window when he stated this. His gaze seemed to be fixed on a certain area of the sea, but he also seemed to not be looking at anything. He just stared off into the horizon as if wishing to go back in time.
Seeing him like this, Clarissa knitted her brows. "Why?" she wondered, perplexed.
