Chapter 141 She Was Lying

"Excuse me, are you the guests of Room 6602?"
The three of them were stunned. The old lady said quickly, "I... we have something urgent to do right now. If you have anything to say, let's talk about it later!"
After speaking, she pulled Clarissa and Anne and ran inside.
However, they were stopped by the staff again.
This time, not only the staff in the hall, but also two security guards stood in front of them.
Their faces all looked serious. The staff stared at the old lady and said in a deep voice, "Sorry, your room has been in arrears for two days. You said that you would renew it today, so we allowed you and your granddaughter to live here, but we couldn't contact you since this morning. If you don't pay the bill today, I'm afraid that you and your granddaughter can't live here anymore."
Clarissa was surprised.
She turned to look at the old lady.
An embarrassed expression appeared on the old lady's face.
"Well... I originally planned to pay the bill today, but my wallet was lost in the restaurant, so can you give me two more days? When I find the wallet, I will definitely return the money to you."
The staff sighed helplessly.
"You have used this reason two days ago."
The old lady couldn't say a word.
Clarissa didn't expect to run into such an embarrassing scene.
Anne walked forward, grabbed the staff member's sleeve, and shook it gently.
She raised her cute head slightly, and winked her black eyes at the stuff.
"Do I and my great grandmother cause you trouble? I'm really sorry, but we really lost our wallet. If you don't believe me, ask Auntie Clarissa. She can testify."
As she said, she pointed at Clarissa who was standing behind her with one hand.
Clarissa was speechless.
What the hell was going on? Why did it suddenly have something to do with her?
How should she answer?
Seeing that Clarissa was somewhat hesitate, the old lady winked at her silently.
Clarissa felt so helpless.
She finally understood what was going on. Without looking at the old lady, she said directly to the staff, "How much do they owe?"
"The room rate for three days is totally 17,664 dollars."
Clarissa nodded. This was a very high-end resort hotel, and it was natural quite expensive.
She didn't say anything and took out her card directly.
"I'll pay the bill with my card!"
The old lady said awkwardly, "Well... I'm so sorry."
Clarissa smiled. She did not expose the old lady's lie, but only touched Anne's hair.
"It doesn't matter. Just regard it as my gift to Anne! We are so fated, but I haven't given her any gift yet!"
Seeing this, Anne opened a pair of big bright eyes and smiled happily, "Thank you, Auntie Clarissa."
Seeing this, the staff could only take Clarissa's card to pay the bill.
After that, Clarissa asked the old lady, "What are you going to do? Do you have anywhere to go now?"
The old lady was so guilty that she was not as talkative and outgoing as she was during the meal just now. She shrank back, "No..."
Clarissa paused, feeling a little dissatisfied with the old lady's behaviors.
After all, anyone could see that she was lying, including losing her wallet and going out to travel.
The old lady not only sponged off her but also chose such a hotel. She understood that some people were living a hard life, but...
Clarissa sighed and didn't want to say much. She bent over and held Anne in her arms.
"In this case, go to my house and live for one night. It's late now. Let's discuss it tomorrow."
The old lady's eyes lit up when she heard this.
Even Anne was so excited.
She put her arms around Clarissa's neck and celebrated happily, "Yeah! I can sleep with mommy again!"
Clarissa was speechless.
She had only changed the address for a few hours! Why did she call her mommy again?
She was helpless, but she didn't bother to correct Anne anymore. Seeing that the old lady had no objection, she walked out with Anne in her arms.
The car drove smoothly on the wide avenue.
Clarissa called Pattie in advance and told her that she would bring the guests back.
Anderson had a meeting that night, and he would probably stay very late at the company. He had told her in advance, so she didn't bother him, but just sent him a Wechat message. She knew that he would see it after the meeting.
The car stopped at Estdal Manor. Clarissa got out of the car, opened the car door for them, and carried Anne out of the car.
Pattie had been preparing at home when she received Clarissa's phone call. Hearing the sound of the car engine outside, she knew that Clarissa had come back and went out to greet her in a hurry.
"Mrs. Jordan, you are back! The guests are..."
Before Pattie could finish her words, she saw the old lady and Anne standing in front of the car and opened her eyes wide in shock.
The old lady glanced at her without saying anything.
But there was a warning look in her shrewd eyes.
Pattie covered her mouth subconsciously, and Anne had run into the house excitedly.
"Yeah, I'm finally here again! I'm going to sleep with mommy tonight."
Pattie's widened her eyes in disbelief again.
What the hell?
Mommy?
Had Mrs. Jordan and Miss Jordan recognized each other?
Oh my god! What the hell was going on here?
In Pattie's shocked eyes, Clarissa walked in with the old lady and Anne.
"Pattie, this is Anne. This is Anne's great grandmother, Matteo. Arrange two guest rooms for them, and they will live here tonight."
Pattie swallowed and wanted to say something. But facing Matteo's stern eyes, she could only bite back her words and turn around to clean up the rooms.
Matteo turned to look at Clarissa and said with a smile, "Miss Chapman, I'm really sorry. It's so nice of you."
Clarissa smiled blandly, "It's no bother. Anne is so young, and I can't let her suffer."
Ann pulled her hand. Clarissa thought she was going to say something, and subconsciously bent over to listen.
Anne suddenly stood on tiptoe and kissed her cheek.
Clarissa was stunned.
Immediately afterwards, she heard Anne's crisp voice, "Thank you, mommy."
Clarissa couldn't help laughing.
After Pattie cleaned up the rooms, Clarissa let them go to rest. Anne wanted to sleep with her, but Anderson would come back at night. How dare Clarissa promise her?
Finally, after a long time, she promised to tell Anne a story before she went to bed, and she wouldn't leave until Anne fell asleep. It was only then that Anne agreed.
Looking at Clarissa and Anne getting along so closely, Pattie had a complicated feeling in heart.
Last time when Anne came here, Pattie was on vacation, so she didn't know that.
At this time, seeing how much Anne liked Clarissa, she felt happy but a little sad.
It seemed that Miss Jordan had regarded Mrs. Jordan as her mother, and this was a good thing.
But Mr. Jordan's grandma had to hide their true identities. What should they do if Mrs. Jordan knew the truth?
Mrs. Jordan was too pitiful!
