Chapter 1011 Work Together

Anderson nodded and accompanied Clarissa out.
As they walked to the living room, he supported Clarissa and sat her down on the sofa.
"What's wrong?" Anderson asked with concern.
Clarissa replied lightly, "Remember when I asked Lauren to help us in the search for Jade of Heaven? She found some news, claiming that a piece of it was in Mr. Ramsey's hands. I've already told Emmeline, and I'm sure they'll be on their way soon."
"Well, Emmeline and Jara are unfamiliar with the Ethanbez Family and have only met Lauren and Jameson a few times. Besides, didn't Grandma say she'd like to attend Elicia's birthday party? Why don't we accompany Grandma so that we can look for her as well as assist Emmeline?"
Hearing this, Anderson looked at her and frowned.
"But your body..."
Clarissa shook her head.
"I'm fine."
Smiling gently, she held Anderson's hand and placed it on her stomach.
"Look, your kids are so obedient. They don't bother me at all."
Seeing that he still had some concerns in his eyes, Clarissa added, "In addition, I'd like to use this trip to visit Mom and Mr. Lane. Although I found that she's doing quite well since our previous visit, I'm still a little worried. I want to personally visit her place and see how things are for them. Just think of it as a chance to relax and accompany me, okay?"
Anderson could never stand Clarissa's pleading.
In his heart, Clarissa was everything to him. So what was the problem if she wanted to do something?
Therefore, with a helpless sigh, he reached out and took Clarissa into his arms.
"Okay, I'll go with you."
Seeing that he had finally agreed, Clarissa curled her lips into a contented smile.
Then, she put her head in his chest, stretching out her hand to hold his thin waist.
"Anderson, you're the best!"
......
The next day.
Clarissa didn't go to the company. Instead, she let Nora drive her to the old house.
At the old house, Grandma and Grandpa had already been informed of her arrival.
As a result, they specifically instructed the servant to meet her at the entrance.
In fact, Clarissa thought they were making a big deal out of it. She wasn't an outsider, and it wasn't her first trip here, let alone that she didn't know how to get there. Moreover, Grandma would let a servant pick her up every time she came alone.
However, Grandma was very persistent. She claimed it was because Clarissa was pregnant and walking would be inconvenient. The consequences would be severe if she inadvertently hit something.
So, every time, Grandma would let a trustworthy servant come to pick Clarissa up personally. That was the only way she could rest assured.
Clarissa didn't know whether to laugh or cry at Grandma's concern for her.
In fact, she didn't think it was inconvenient for her to walk now. After all, she was still in the early stages of her pregnancy.
If it was inconvenient for her now, imagine how inconvenient it would be when she was eight or nine months pregnant.
Nonetheless, they must have been doing this out of goodwill. She would upset them if she turned them down.
Thus, she did not say anything.
Just as she entered the house, she noticed Grandma seated on the sofa in the living room, watching TV.
When Grandma saw Clarissa arrive, she turned off the TV and said with a smile, "Clarissa, come over. Let me have a look at your belly."
"It's still rather small. Grandma, don't be too anxious." Clarissa laughed.
Then, Grandma assisted her onto the sofa and sat down. "How can I not be anxious? For people our age, the future is uncertain. Of course, we must seize the chance to meet our grandchildren. Otherwise, what if an accident occurs and we are unable to meet them in the future?"
Upon hearing her words, Clarissa immediately darkened her face.
She said angrily, "Touchwood! Grandma, don't talk nonsense. You and Grandpa both will live to a ripe old age."
How could Matteo not know that Clarissa was comforting her?
It was a happy day, and she didn't want to be too negative. Thus, she agreed with Clarissa. "Alright, alright. We're going to live a long time. By the way, you mentioned over the phone that you had something to tell me; what is it?"
At this time, Carlos might have gone to take care of his plants since he was not in the living room.
Clarissa pursed her lips and said, "Didn't you always say you'd go to Mrs. Ethanbez's birthday party? Anderson and I felt that leaving you and Grandpago alone was not a good idea. Coincidentally, we met Mrs. Ethanbez before and liked her very much, so we planned to go with you in a few days. What do you think?"
Matteo was taken aback.
She then looked at Clarissa in confusion.
"You guys are going too? Why?"
Without hesitation, she shook her head. "No. Aside from the fact that you and Anderson are exhausted from work, you are still pregnant. You'll then have to fly a long distance. What's more, there are a lot of people at the birthday party. What should we do if someone happens to bump into you? No way. It's too dangerous."
Clarissa responded with a smile, "It is not dangerous. After all, we're all together, and we'll bring a doctor along. Besides, this isn't my first pregnancy, so don't be too worried, Grandma."
Matteo's eyebrows were still tightly knitted together.
It was not a smart idea for Clarissa to confront her about Jara. On the one hand, even though the Jordan Family and the Holland Family's relationship had lately improved, they were still business competitors.
She was afraid that if she spoke too much, Grandma would still not grasp their friendship with Jara and Emmeline. Later, she not only failed to explain the situation clearly but also made things more difficult.
Second, regarding the situation with Jara and Emmeline, the fewer people who knew about it, the better.
She told Lauren because she needed Jameson's assistance in F Country. Lauren would undoubtedly know if Jameson knew, so there was no point in hiding it.
However, Grandma was different.
Thinking of this, she sighed.
"Actually, Grandma, the reason I'd like to go out this time is not solely to celebrate Mrs. Ethanbez's birthday. I also want to look for my mom. I've missed her ever since she left the last time. I really want to check how she's doing.
When Matteo heard this, she came to a sudden realization.
"Ah, I was wondering why you want to come along."
Matteo pondered for a moment before nodding. "I see. I know you miss your mom very much. Oh, I heard your mom's husband is Robert Lane? He is a great doctor, right?"
Clarissa nodded.
"Then I'm relieved. Well, they probably won't mistreat you with your mom around. Furthermore, with the best doctor, you can rest assured about your or your child's health. In this case, you can go."
Only then did Clarissa smile.
