Chapter 976 Wanting to Meet Her

"You can be mad, but besides being angry, aren't you supposed to be happy for her too? After all, she is now living a peaceful and happy life that you've always prayed for her to live in."
Upon hearing his words, Clarissa stared at him blankly.
After a while, she broke into a smile. "Well, you're right."
Lovingly, Anderson caressed her head. "So, can you tell me what's going on?"
She contemplated before explaining to him what had happened today.
After listening to her explanation, Anderson was bewildered.
For a while, he was quiet before he said, "So, what are you going to do now?"
Clarissa shook her head. "I have no idea. She doesn't remember anything now, and she doesn't know me. So, I don't know how to tell her."
"Don't worry." Anderson consoled her. "Those past incidents have deeply hurt her, so, understandably, she isn't willing to recall. Luckily, she's still alive, and destiny has brought you to her once again. No matter what happens next, we should be grateful, okay?"
To that, Clarissa nodded.
In fact, she also understood it was a blessing that Sierra was still alive after so many years.
Thus, she shouldn't ask for more. Before that, as she didn't want to be forgotten by Sierra, she lost her composure.
However, with Anderson's consolation and enlightenment, she had come to terms with it.
Having that thought, she sighed.
"Actually, it's good that she doesn't remember her past. In that case, she won't remember how Gianni hurt her. As she said, this is a chance for her to live a new life. If she can firmly grasp this chance, it would be great."
Upon hearing that, Anderson embraced her and tightened his arms.
"You're right. As long as you think this way, you will feel much better."
Snuggling up in his arms, she replied with a slightly hoarse voice. "But I really want to see her and spend more time with her. Besides, I am curious if she has been doing well these years. This afternoon, I don't mean to blame her. It's just that I don't know how to express my feelings."
"I understand." Anderson nodded.
After a pause, he looked at her and consoled, "Don't worry. When you feel better, we shall meet her. Anyway, she is in Flaucford. That means you still have plenty of time and chances to tell her what you really want to say."
Clarissa nodded in agreement and closed her eyes.
While hugging her, Anderson could feel that her breathing gradually became calm, and soon, she fell asleep. Seeing that, he smiled helplessly.
Then, he carried her toward the huge bed.
That night, Clarissa had a deep sleep.
During the middle of her sleep, she had a long and pleasant dream.
In her dream, she had returned to her childhood when she lived in the Campos family's mansion. At that time, she was playing the swing in the yard with two goat-horn braids. Meanwhile, her grandfather was sitting in a rocking chair, smiling at her. After that, Sierra came out with a plate of fruits and called out to her with a smile, "Clarissa, come over and have some fruits."
Thrilled, she jumped off the swing and threw herself at Sierra. However, she accidentally knocked over the fruits on Sierra's hands.
As the fruits were scattered all over the ground, she was startled and burst into tears.
Panicked, Sierra tried to comfort her while wiping her tears, "It's alright. You didn't do it on purpose. Don't cry, alright?"
Clarissa's tears flowed down silently.
Perhaps, she knew that Sierra would never comfort her in such a gentle way again.
Moreover, Sierra would never give her the warmest hug again, let alone love her and protect her.
That was why Clarissa felt sorrowful.
Although Sierra was still alive, her mother was dead.
As she grew up in the Campos family, she didn't have any impression of her biological mother. Since she was young, Sierra was her only emotional support.
However, that wasn't the case anymore.
In tears, she woke up.
Noticing that she was weeping, Anderson—who was by her side—pulled her into his arms and coaxed her in a gentle voice.
"Don't cry, Honey. You're breaking my heart."
Clarissa held his waist tightly and buried her face in his arms.
"Anderson, I've dreamed of my mom," she sniveled.
The moment he heard that, his heart ached.
"I want to see her," she murmured.
"Alright, when it's morning, I'll accompany you to see her."
After that, Anderson lowered his head and kissed away the tears on her face. In a hoarse voice, he coaxed, "You should sleep a little longer. If you sleep well, you'll be in a better condition to see her, alright?"
Clarissa nodded.
Once again, she buried her face in his arms, and fell asleep.
The next day.
Accompanied by Anderson, Clarissa came to the Stone-gambling Event again.
After yesterday's incident, Mr. Jenkins had learned about her relationship with Sierra. Although he was bewildered, a huge sense of joy welled up in his heart.
He wasn't sure whether Clarissa and Sierra would acknowledge each other one day.
However, he was clear about Sierra's situation over the years and knew that her condition wasn't well. If she could reunite with her family, that would be great.
In addition, he was a businessman who attached great importance to profit. So, he could tell when there was an opportunity and what could benefit his future the most.
Even though he had no intention to take advantage of Sierra, this was his perfect chance to build up a good connection.
As he thought about this, joy rose from the bottom of his heart.
Then, with respectful and attentive footsteps, he welcomed Clarissa and Anderson.
"Good to see you, Mr. and Mrs. Jordan. Please have a seat inside."
While grinning, he led them to the reception room. After they sat down, he ordered his secretary to make coffee.
Suddenly, Anderson raised his hand to stop him.
"No thanks. I suppose you've figured out the purpose of our visit today, haven't you?"
Hearing that, Mr. Jenkins froze, and embarrassment flashed across his face.
Immediately, he waved off his secretary, closed the door, and looked back at them with a troubled expression.
"I know why the two of you are here. However, I am an outsider, and I couldn't say much about this matter. If you wish to see Miss Campos, I can arrange a meeting for you, but I can't promise that she will turn up for sure."
When they heard that, Anderson was tranquil, while Clarissa responded in a deep voice, "I won't be seeing her for now, but I have a few questions to ask you. I hope you can answer me truthfully."
Although Mr. Jenkins was shocked, he instantly nodded.
"Sure. Ask away, and I will tell you everything I know."
Clarissa nodded and questioned, "How did you get to know my mother?"
To that, Mr. Jenkins told Clarissa that during his tour to the desert, he was separated from his tour group and had lost his way. Later, by chance, he was rescued by Sierra and Robert.
