Chapter 109 Live For Two Days

Lauren shook her head.
"I'm fine. Don't call the police."
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.
"Clarissa, help me get the clothes, okay?"
Clarissa stared at her.
She knew that since Lauren had a high social position, ordinary people would not dare do this to her. Besides, she was followed by bodyguards at any time, so no gangsters could get close to her.
Seeing Lauren like this, Clarissa felt that... there was inside story.
She didn't say anything, turned around and went out to find Lauren's clothes. After taking them in, she helped her go to the bathroom and take a simple shower before taking her away.
In Estdal Manor.
When Pattie saw that Clarissa brought back a girl who she had seen on TV, she was very happy.
"Pattie, this is my friend, Lauren. She may live here these few days. Please cook some light supper for me."
"No problem."
Clarissa helped Lauren into the room.
"Clarissa, I want to take a bath."
"Okay."
The guest room had never been used, and there were all kinds of daily necessities.
Clarissa poured the water into the bath for her and let her take a bath herself. Then she went out and asked Pattie to call a doctor.
After she moved into Estdal Manor, Anderson hired a female family doctor for her. Although the Spring Festival was approaching, the doctor came quickly because she lived not far away from them in Visstead.
After Lauren took a bath, Clarissa asked her to have a check-up for Lauren.
"The doctor is one of us. Don't worry! She won't say anything to others."
Seeing Lauren's vigilant gaze, Clarissa explained.
It was only then that Lauren was relieved. The doctor asked her to take off her clothes. Clarissa couldn't bear to see it and turned around to leave.
After about more ten minutes, the doctor came out.
Clarissa asked her a few questions, knowing that in addition to the wounds on Lauren's body, she also had some private lacerations. Clarissa could guess what had happened. Without asking more, she asked the doctor to make a prescription and then leave.
She walked into the guest room again, only to see that Lauren was already dressed. She was leaning on the bedside and looking out the window in a daze.
"What happened? Can you tell me now?"
"Clarissa, I don't want to say it."
Lauren's face was a little pale, and her eyes were washed-out. Even her tone was light, and she looked extremely weak.
Clarissa frowned hard.
"I'm so hungry. Is there anything to eat?"
As if feeling that Clarissa was angry, Lauren turned her head and smiled weakly at her.
Clarissa was mad and said, "Since you can feel hungry, you won't die for the time-being."
Although she said harsh words, she went downstairs to bring up the supper made by Pattie in person.
After Lauren finished eating, she was very tired.
Clarissa couldn't bear to bother her. Since she didn't want to say anything, she must have a reason.
Therefore, although Clarissa was still somewhat annoyed in heart, she didn't say anything and let Lauren have a rest.
The next day.
On new year's eve, Anderson called her and said that he would be back in the afternoon to celebrate the Spring Festival with her.
Clarissa was a little surprised. He once said he was going back to Flaucford, and she thought he would celebrate the Spring Festival in Flaucford
She had been living a vagrant life all these years. After she came back from aboard, she had no relatives and no friends at home. Elliot had to go back to the Duncan family during the Spring Festival, and naturally, it was impossible for him to accompany her. Therefore, she didn't have to spend the Spring Festival with others.
She always felt that it was nice to be alone.
Thinking about it, she thought that she had probably got used to be alone!
Hearing that Anderson was going to come back, Pattie was very happy. She prepared a few more dishes and wine in the evening, which could be regarded as a lively family reunion dinner.
Anderson arrived home at five o'clock in the afternoon.
As soon as he got home, he keenly sensed that there was a guest at home, because there was a pair of extra shoes at the door.
Sure enough, the next second, he saw Lauren coming downstairs with a glass in her hand.
"Mr. Jordan, hello! Nice to see you again."
Anderson frowned hard.
"Why is she here?"
He asked Pattie next to him.
Pattie was a little confused.
"Mr. Jordan, Miss Jones is a friend of Mrs. Jordan. She said she would live here for several days."
"No!"
As soon as he said this, Clarissa walked out from the bedroom.
"Why not?"
She stepped forward to hold Lauren and raised her eyebrows, "Lauren is my best friend. I asked her to spend a few daysl here with me, and she won't disturb. Why not?"
Anderson's face darkened a little.
Clarissa knew that Anderson had complaints against Lauren because of the previous incident.
But since Lauren had suffered from such a thing, she couldn't leave her alone.
So she walked to Anderson in a hurry, and pulled the hem of his clothes.
With an obedient face, she whispered, "Anyway, she is my friend. Don't embarrass me."
She had never talked to him so softly.
Besides, her tone was a little coquettish.
Anderson couldn't remain calm immediately. He glanced at her, and finally said coldly with a sullen face, "Just two days."
Lauren sneered, "Don't worry. Even if you ask me to stay here after two days, I won't stay!"
After that, she turned around and went back to her room arrogantly.
Anderson's face darkened even more.
Clarissa smiled awkwardly and comforted him.
"You must be tired after flying for a whole day, right? Sit down and wait. I will pour you a glass of water."
After a night of rest, Lauren was in a much better spirit.
Almost all the injuries were on her body, and she was wearing a high-necked sweater. Except for her paler face, she looked the same as usual.
Lauren still refused to tell Clarissa the truth, and Clarissa couldn't force her.
In the afternoon, Dexter, the chairman of Alphatube, called Lauren. Clarissa passed by her door accidently and vaguely heard a quarrel inside.
This must be the reason why Lauren refused to go home.
No matter how worried Clarissa was, she could only respect Lauren's choice.
It was the New Year' Eve. Fireworks were banned in the city proper, but people can set off fireworks in the suburbs.
After dinner, Clarissa wanted to go out for a walk, so Anderson took her to Harborview Grounds in the suburbans to watch the display of fireworks. Lauren didn't want to go out, so she went back to her room to sleep.
When they arrived there by driving, there were already a lot of people.
Anderson booked a table in the revolving restaurant in advance, where they could not only see the fireworks, but also the busy traffic on New Year's Eve. The scene outside was so beautiful.
"Sir, Madam, here are your drinks."
A waiter came with a tray. Clarissa was looking out the window and didn't pay attention to him.
When she reached out to take the drink, her fingertips were suddenly touched by something.
She was stunned slightly. When she turned around, she saw the meaningful expression in the waiter's eyes.
Her face changed slightly.
Fortunately, Anderson was answering the phone at this time and didn't see her.
She withdrew her hand quickly. After the waiter left respectfully, she still felt that her fingertips were trembling slightly.
"Sit down and I'll go to the bathroom."
As Clarissa said to Anderson, she stood up.
She walked to the bathroom and closed the door before she opened the note in her hand.
There were only a few simple and scribbled words on it, "Seven, long time no see!"
Clarissa's face changed.
Was it him?
