Chapter 338 It's Really you

After all, Clarissa knew how hard Lauren's life had been in the past year.
She had cursed him countless times before, the heartless man who had no responsibility at all, even when Clarissa didn't know who he was. He didn't show up when she gave birth to their child. Lauren had to go through all the sufferings by herself.
Clarissa's expression darkened at once. She obviously looked displeased now.
Although Clarissa also knew that there might be some undisclosed twists and turns that they had experienced, she still couldn't help but to make snarky remarks.
Jameson wasn't not bothered about it. He knew that Clarissa and Lauren were close, so he would not really take such a trivial incident to heart.
After they fetched Joy, Jameson took Lauren home.
Although Clarissa still disagreed with Lauren being with him in this matter, it was, after all, their private affair. She was in no position to intervene in it.
Fortunately, Lauren had found her contract back. She was planning to make a comeback in a few months. With Alex's help, the contract, which was originally signed with the Jones Group, was void. However, Dexter was still very angry, especially when he found out that she had gotten married to Jameson without informing them. Dexter even made a statement saying that whoever dared to sign Lauren as their artiste would be effectively against the Jones Group!
Dexter seemed to have the intention of banning her.
As a result, many companies, who were originally interested in her, did not dare to approach her.
After all, although she was famous, Lauren was famous for being unambitious. She had her own idea and was unwilling to follow the company's arrangement. It was still unclear whether it was a blessing or a disaster to get her on board.
Secondly, there were still rumors that Lauren had given birth to a child overseas, albeit Lauren had tried to keep it as a secret.
Everyone felt that there was no need to offend Dexter because of Lauren, who could be a ticking bomb.
Lauren's comeback plan was hindered because of this. After Clarissa learned the news, she got Lauren signed to her company Starlight.
Anderson had no objection to this matter. Clarissa was his wife and her friend would be his too.
However, Lauren was upset for a long while because of this matter.
In the tugs of war between father and daughter, in fact, not only did Dexter feel upset about it, the feeling was mutual for Lauren too.
If there was a third choice, no one would have wanted to be in such a situation today.
As for this matter, Clarissa couldn't be of any use, but could only sigh helplessly.
On this day, Clarissa had made an appointment with Teddy and another sponsor to have dinner together. Teddy had a new movie and he planned to let Clarissa take up one of the roles. Therefore, he needed to communicate the idea with her in advance.
Clarissa and Teddy had known each other for a long time. The sponsor sitting opposite them was very polite to her because he knew Anderson.
During the meal, everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest as the discussion went on very smoothly.
Clarissa promised to accompany Anne to read a picture book at night, so she did not stay longer after the meal. She said goodbye to Teddy and the others and left.
When Clarissa entered the parking lot and was about to get in the car, she suddenly heard a quarrel coming from the corner next to her.
Her car was not parked too far from the corner. It was less than ten meters away. Because there was a concrete pillar in the middle, they couldn't see Clarissa, nor could she see the people there.
Their voices sounded familiar to Clarissa. Curious for a moment, she couldn't help but stop in her tracks.
It seemed that a woman and a man were quarreling over there.
The woman said, "Who do you think you are? Even if I'm pregnant, it has nothing to do with you! Get out of here if you know what's good for you! If someone takes a picture of us, I'll never let you off!"
The man's voice sounded a little pitiful, as if he was begging.
"I know it's my fault, but for the sake of the child, can you forgive me once? You don't want the baby to be born without a father, do you?"
"Oh! Give birth to him? Aaron, you think too much, don't you? When did I say that I would give birth to him? And you want to be my child's father? Who do you think you are? You don't even know what you want to do with your future, you don't deserve to be the father of my child!"
"Gabriela! How can you say that?"
"I'm telling the truth! Aaron, I really don't like you at all. Please face the truth! What happened that night was just an accident. Can't you let it go? Just pretend that nothing happened and stop bothering me anymore?"
"Gabriela, I know that I'm a good-for-nothing. My career was going well but now it's ruined. But I'm serious about you. Believe me, I'll work hard and I will make it one day. I'll never let you suffer with me..."
"That's enough!"
Gabriela suddenly shouted and tried to yank off his hand, which made her take a few steps back to behind the pillar.
When Clarissa saw her, she quickly lowered her head and got into the car.
The car's glass had been customized in such a way that it was tinted and only the person inside the car could see what was going on outside but the people outside won't be able to see what was inside the car.
With a light "bang", the car door was closed. Gabriela paused for a second and looked towards the car unhappily.
Clarissa didn't say anything. She just pretended that she didn't know her and started the car engine.
The car reversed from the parking lot and drove outside the car park.
When Gabriela saw the license plate on it, her expression changed. Aaron wanted to pull her back and continue their conversation, but she shook it off again.
"Aaron, I'm warning you! You're not allowed to tell anyone about us, or I'm going to get you killed!"
"Gabriela..."
"And! This child is just an accident. I won't keep him. You don't deserve to be his father either, so don't be delusional. We are people of different social standing. If you keep pestering me like this, things could end up badly for the both of us.
"As long as you are willing to let go, I will give you a sum of money for you to leave this place and start afresh. Take your pick— do you want money or to be down-an-out like this? Give me a call after you've made up your mind. That's all."
After finishing her words, Gabriela also got in the car in a hurry. She threw the door open and drove out at a high speed.
As Aaron looked at the back of the car leaving, his eyes turned red as he clenched his fists tightly.
Clarissa didn't go far before she was forced to stop by a red Ferrari.
A minute later, there were few knocks on her car window. Clarissa lowered the window and saw Gabriela's delicate face.
"Is it really you?"
Gabriela looked really displeased.
Clarissa felt a little helpless and could only wave her hand to greet her. "Hi! Miss Levine, long time no see."
In contrast with Clarissa's excitement, Gabriela's expression was sombre.
Gabriela looked around and said in a low voice, "Miss Chapman, is it convenient for me to get in the car and talk to you?"
Clarissa forced a smile. "There's no need. We don't seem to have anything to talk about."
Gabriela said with a cold face, "Miss Chapman, I have never been hostile to you. Even if you have snatched Anderson from me, I still gave you my blessings. Why did you have to keep me away?"
