Chapter 1014 Reminisce About The Good Old Times

Zachary then got out of Lauren's arms.
"You may hide, and I'll find you," he added, waving his hand liberally.
Anne turned back to stop Marf with a nod.
"Can Marf play with us?"
This time, Zachary didn't say anything.
He just pursed his lips and looked at Marf with hostility.
After Clarissa's explanation just now, Marf had already somewhat understood that Zachary did not bully Anne; he was just friendly.
However, Marf had been fond of saving face since he was a child. It was fine in front of his own family, but not so much in front of strangers, especially since it was their first encounter. He would never admit that he had made a mistake.
As a result, the two kids stood there, defiantly staring at each other. Their faces were flushed, but neither of them was willing to concede defeat.
Seeing this, Clarissa and Lauren couldn't help laughing.
In the end, they did not manage to play hide-and-seek.
After all, these two boys were both smart and stubborn. They were also concerned that if they played together, something would go wrong.
So, the servants took them to play some simple games, such as blowing bubbles or playing with Legos.
After handing over the children to the servant, Lauren brought Clarissa to her bedroom upstairs.
"Clarissa, I've heard about what happened to Emmeline. They've already arrived and called me yesterday. Do you want to visit them later after dinner?"
Clarissa nodded.
"Is Mr. Ramsey also one of today's guests?" she inquired after some thought.
Lauren shook her head.
"No, he's a distant relative of the Ethanbez family with a business in this city. He came here this time to celebrate Elicia's birthday and also to take care of his business."
"We're having a family dinner today to welcome you guys. Well, the most important thing is to let the two old ladies reminisce on the good old times. The actual birthday celebration will take place tomorrow evening. Mr. Ramsey should be here at that time."
Hearing this, Clarissa nodded again.
"In that case, there's no hurry to meet Emmeline. Well, it'll be too late later. Let's see if we can meet her in the morning tomorrow."
Lauren had no objection.
After that, she drew Clarissa to the sofa and sat down.
She then examined her over and over before smiling and said, "You gained some weights."
Clarissa's heart skipped a beat, and she rushed to the mirror to check herself out.
"Really? Am I much fatter?"
She didn't think much of herself since she looked in the mirror every day. The main reason was that Anderson changed a batch of clothes for her now and then. She didn't wear the previous clothes, so she had no idea whether she gained weight or not.
Despite this, she maintained careful control over her own physique.
Nevertheless, she didn't expect to grow fatter.
Lauren couldn't help but chuckle when she saw how nervous Clarrisa was.
"You've gained a pound or two. But don't worry, you're too skinny, and it's best if you gain some weight."
As she spoke, she pulled Clarissa back again.
Upon hearing her comments, Clarissa finally calmed down a little.
Then, Lauren questioned again, "I heard you're pregnant again? How many months has it been?"
Speaking of this, Clarissa gave a faint smile.
"Almost four months."
"Really?"
Lauren's eyes lit up. She raised her eyebrows in bewilderment as she peered at Clarissa's belly.
"Hey, this belly is a little bigger than usual. Have you checked it?"
"Yes, the doctor says it's twins," Clarissa responded, nodding.
After hearing her reply, Lauren widened her eyes again.
"Twins? That's great! I'm so envious of you."
Clarissa clicked her tongue. "Why are you jealous of me? You can also have a baby at any time. It's not as if Jameson doesn't want it!"
Lauren flushed shortly when Clarissa said it.
She then gently patted Clarissa and remarked, "Please don't make fun of me. I don't have any plans for now."
Lauren was a lazy person. She had already find Zachary difficult to look after. Therefore, she would be considerably more troubled if she had another child.
Hearing this, Clarissa didn't say anything.
For a while, the two of them chatted about what had happened recently until it was time for dinner.
Dinner was inevitably lively because there were so many people.
In the afternoon, Anderson also went to see Jameson and had a chat with him. Clarissa could tell Jameson was more gentle and cheerful than previously at the dinner table.
Jameson had been frigid in the past, but now he was a lot more friendly.
In fact, he was more welcoming and comprehensive.
This was a good thing!
After all, he would eventually take over the Ethanbez Family. In the business world, no matter how powerful you were, you had to consider the big picture from time to time.
After dinner, Elicia arranged for them a place to stay. Anderson and the others opted to stay at their residence without hesitation.
Later, Anne went back to her room to sleep. Because Marf was still young, Clarissa had to coax him into sleeping.
Lying next to him, Clarissa was telling him a story.
After a while, she put the pillow behind him, covered him with the quilt, turned around, and walked out silently while she watched him slowly fall asleep.
She bumped into Anderson as soon as she walked out the door, who had just returned from nowhere.
Anderson was holding a cup of milk when he spotted her leave Marf's room. "Is Marf asleep?" he inquired.
Clarissa nodded.
Then, she dragged Anderson to her room because she was scared they would wake Marf up.
After entering the door, she let out a sigh of relief. "Where did you go just now?" she asked after closing the door.
"I went to pick up a call." He paused and continued, "My personnel claimed to have discovered a piece of Jade of Heaven."
Upon hearing this, Clarissa was taken aback.
"So fast? Where did he find it?"
"A quarry in Trikstin."
Anderson appeared to be a little skeptical when it came to this.
"Clarissa, do you have a strange feeling about it?"
"What's the matter?" Clarissa sat down and asked, a little dazed.
Anderson produced an agonized frown and stated in a low voice, "We've been helping Jara in the search for Jade of Heaven. Even though it isn't easy, it isn't too difficult. With Coby's tactics and the Marsh Family's intelligence, I think he'll be able to find it without our help. So, why would he ask Jara to look for it when he can do it himself?"
Clarissa was stunned after hearing that.
Well, she had never thought about Anderson's question before.
That's right. The Marsh family wielded considerable power.
It was an unfathomable force that even her uncle and the Sapphire family couldn't match.
Besides, Coby was such a well-prepared person. Why didn't he search for it on his own?
Thinking of this, she knitted her brows tightly.
