Chapter 1078 Life is Too Short

In the evening, Anderson returned from work, and he played with them for an hour. Only then did he manage to dispel their resentment.
This time, Clarissa and Anderson had been away for so long. So, naturally, they would be very busy.
The two of them busied themselves in the company for a long period of time before they were able to relax a little.
Lauren knew that they came back, so she brought along her child and came to pay a visit.
Now that her child, Olivia, was already five and a half years old, her relationship with Jameson was very good.
Although there were many misunderstandings between the two of them before, they were now very close to each other.
At first, Dexter didn't agree with her being with Jameson, but that was only because he knew that the relationship between Jameson and the Ethanbez Family was more complicated. He didn't want his daughter to suffer and regret it afterward.
But after so many years, it was clear that Jameson was really good to Lauren.
After all, Dexter was reluctant to part with his daughter. Now, the relationship between the two of them had eased up a lot.
Moreover, with the presence of Olivia between them, every year during the New Year, Dexter would urge them to go back home so he could have a good look at his grandchild.
In truth, he was the only person who had a clear idea as to which child he wanted to see.
Lauren was pregnant again. After an examination, she found out that it was a girl.
She and Jameson had always wanted a daughter. When they saw Anne, they had always liked her.
Now, they finally got what they wished for.
Clarissa and Lauren chatted for a while and agreed to go shopping together.
They went to the most prosperous and high-end shopping mall in Flaucford.
Unexpectedly, as soon as they got out of the car and before entering the mall, they saw a crowd ahead of them as if they were discussing something.
The two of them walked forward curiously, passing through the crowd, and realized a gray-haired old lady was sitting on the ground.
The old woman sat there with her hands covering her legs, crying out in pain and blood was flowing out from her legs.
However, none of the onlookers around her was willing to come forward to help.
With a frown, Clarissa said in a low voice, "What are these people doing? Why didn't they help her out?"
As she spoke, she was about to step forward to help the old woman.
Unexpectedly, Lauren grabbed her.
Clarissa looked at Lauren in confusion. Subsequently, Lauren pointed her lips in a direction not far away, indicating for her to look.
Raising her head, Clarissa saw a muscular man walking in their direction.
As he walked, he was mumbling something under his breath.
The old woman trembled slightly when she saw him.
The man walked up to the old woman and growled angrily, "What are you doing acting pitiful here? Don't you think you've embarrassed me enough? Do you think there's anyone who will help you if you cry and pretend to be pitiful?"
As soon as he finished his words, some people next to him couldn't stand it anymore.
"Hey, Deon, what's wrong with you? She is your mother after all. How can you do this to her?"
"Yeah. She raised you since young. Even if you were not his biological son, she did more good than to give birth to a child. Can't you have a little conscience?"
The crowd who had been watching and did not dare to come forward to help the old madam immediately shouted.
The young man, Deon Lynch, glared at the crowd and yelled angrily, "What does my family have to do with you? She's my mother, not yours. If you're so compassionate, take her home with you."
"Hey, watch your words."
"We made a comment only because we can't stand it anymore. Listen if you like to, otherwise leave it."
"You're so heartless. Beware of karma."
Everyone shouted angrily.
Clarissa didn't expect that this man was the son of the old woman.
According to the onlookers, seemed like he was not her biological son.
However, no matter what, how could he let his adoptive mother sit in the middle of the road and left her unattended?
A hint of anger appeared on her face.
At this moment, the old woman slowly got up.
Her old face and red eyes were filled with shame as she said to the people around her, "Stop it. It's all my fault and I didn't blame my son. I fell down by accident."
"I mean, Madam, how come you're still so protective of him until now?"
"You have raised him for over ten years. Now that he is married and has children, he doesn't treat you as a human being. Why do you continue to spoil him?"
"I say we should go to the court and sue him for being abusive to the elderly."
When the Deon heard their words, he immediately glared at them.
On the other hand, the old woman was so anxious that she kept on explaining herself.
"My son didn't abuse me. Don't talk about him anymore. If you talk about him again, I'll sue you!"
When everyone heard what she said, they got angrier.
Lauren and Clarissa, who were standing not far away, also had a hard expression on their faces.
It was no wonder that when the old woman fell to the ground, no one came forward to support her.
It now seemed that no one else could be blamed on this matter.
After all, judging from how the old woman had spoken for her adopted son, she probably could not tell whether the others were kind or malicious.
It was possible that before she could help out, she might end up getting himself into trouble.
No ordinary person would be willing to do such a thing.
A hint of satisfaction flashed across Deon's face when he heard his mother's words.
Then he added indifferently, "Enough! I don't need you all to get involved with my family's affairs. If there is nothing else, you'd better go home! Don't humiliate yourself outside."
Looking at him, the old woman pouted her lips.
In the end, she didn't say anything further as she clutched her leg and limped back home.
Then, Deon followed behind.
Seeing that, Lauren sighed.
"Alright, let's go in."
Clarissa nodded.
The two of them walked into the mall and forgot about the short episode they had just heard.
It had been a long time since Clarissa came out shopping and to relax a little. On top of that, it was a rare opportunity to go shopping with her best friend today, and she didn't want it to be ruined.
Therefore, after walking around for a while, they went to the beauty salon nearby for a spa treatment.
Lying on the massage bed, Clarissa suddenly uttered. "Lauren, this time when I'm abroad, I've suddenly figured something out."
With her eyes closed, Lauren responded, indicating that she was listening.
Clarissa sighed and said, "Life is too short. You really have to cherish the person in front of you. I know that you and Jameson have a good relationship. I am really glad that both of you are very happy. No matter what you have encountered in the past, you and Jameson always stick together in the end. Unlike Coby, he was left with regrets in the end."
Lauren's eyelids moved slightly, and the corner of her lips curved into a smile.
"Clarissa, everyone's life is different. Your character is what determines your life. In this case, Coby's character decides that he will not have a good ending. He is too selfish. Whether he is alive or dead, he has never respected Cara's decision. Do you really think that the reason he wants to revive Cara was because he loves her?"
