Chapter 122 Cecily Fainted into Darian's Arms
Darian paid no mind to Ophelia, turning away without a backward glance.
He received a call from Larkin informing him that Cecily had left the hotel about fifteen minutes before. After her departure, her phone location had disappeared, likely because her phone had died or been turned off.
Then a security footage clip from the hotel was sent to Darian's phone, and his heart clenched as he looked at the person in the video.
Cecily had left the hotel with Blaise.
Ophelia stood frozen as she watched the determined departure of Darian, unable to move a muscle.
For a moment, she did not know if he trusted Cecily too much, or if he mistrusted her...
However, that was okay.
Even if Darian hadn't seen it with his own eyes, it didn't matter because she had asked Elysia to record a video.
After watching the whole thing, she believed the impact on him would be even greater.
That's right, without a doubt.
"Somebody framed me, someone betrayed me... I didn't do it willingly, it was Cecily who framed me…"
Hearing the voice cry out desperately, Ophelia stood still as stone, unable to move.
After what seemed like an eternity, she slowly lowered her head to look at Elysia, whose clothes were tattered.
Her breath hitched.
It was as if all hope collapsed in her eyes, she stepped back, staring wide-eyed.
"Elysia? How is it you!"
Elysia's hair was disheveled, her face pale as a ghost, and the skin exposed on her body was covered in red marks. It was evident what had happened to her.
Elysia grabbed Ophelia's clothes tightly, "Cecily, she hurt me, she harmed me... How did it come to this? Why did it turn out this way?"
"Cecily! She framed me, you have to go catch her, arrest her, go on..."
Elysia was pulling at Ophelia like a madwoman, then tugging at the officers.
"Go, you have to catch her, it was her, she's the reason. Go!"
Elysia's voice was filled with a desolate plea.
The four thugs originally hired by Cecily were brought out, their clothes disheveled.
Elysia, out of control, rushed forward to hit and kick the men, yelling, "You animals, you beasts! I'll kill you! I'll kill all of you!"
She couldn't accept that she had been violated in such a way.
In such a shameful manner, that even the police had come to arrest them on prostitution charges.
Elysia slumped to the ground, paralyzed, feeling like she was going insane.
Ophelia was shaking with hatred.
'Cecily!'
'Well done!'
'She should manage to escape.'
Ophelia closed her eyes, breathing deeply a few times, quickly regaining her composure. She couldn't concern herself with Cecily now; this scandal couldn't be allowed to get out of hand.
Otherwise, it would be hard to settle.
Ophelia looked at Elysia, who was being held down with her hands behind her back, and gave Elysia a stern look.
However Elysia, now oblivious to everything around her, was like a madwoman, her eyes filled with pain and despair.
Ophelia really wanted to silence this fool.
Elysia, not listening to Ophelia, ended up being taken into police custody for investigation with clear evidence at the scene.
After a tumultuous night that did not bring Cecily down but instead cost Elysia, Ophelia leaned against the wall, exhausted. Taking deep breaths and finally calming her temper, she pulled out her phone and dialed, "Dad, I've got a situation here, I need your help..."
...
Cecily sat in Blaise's car, the cool evening breeze easing some of the heat from her body.
However, at the same time, she felt alternating waves of hot and cold.
Pain pulsed in her head, and Cecily supported it with her hand, leaning against the car window.
"Just take me home, I don't need to go to the hospital."
Blaise pursed his lips, his expression cold and silent as he controlled the steering wheel, "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, it's not like I'm sick, it's not serious enough for a hospital."
Blaise followed her request and drove her home.
Cecily muttered a thanks as she prepared to step out of the car in front of her apartment. Just as she set foot on the pavement, her legs gave way, and she almost stumbled to the ground.
Blaise saw what was happening, got out of the car, and quickly made his way to her side, grabbing her arm to steady her. "Are you sure you can make it on your own?" he asked.
"I'm fine, I'll just head back," Cecily replied, propping herself up and making her way home.
"Cecily!" A deep and chilling voice called out to her.
She frowned upon hearing it.
Out of the corner of his eye, Blaise noticed an imposing figure striding toward them with a fierce disposition. He lightly raised an eyebrow but did not let go of Cecily's hand. Instead, he pulled her closer to him.
Cecily turned around to see Darian approaching with a distinctly unpleasant expression. His dark eyes radiated an icy glare.
Before Cecily had a chance to speak, Darian’s fist flew toward Blaise. The punch, loaded with fury, whistled past Cecily's cheek, its terrifying speed and strength almost paralyzing.
Startled, Cecily was released and took a couple of steps back, watching the scene unfold before her.
Blaise dodged the punch with a tilt of his head, a faint smirk crossing his face as he looked at Darian defiantly.
"Get out of the way!" Darian barked, grabbing Cecily's arm. At the same time, Blaise took hold of her other hand.
Blaise's lips curled into a cold smile. "What if I don't?"
Cecily looked up to see both men glaring at each other with enough anger to exchange blows.
Exhausted, Cecily forcefully withdrew her hands and said, "I'm a person, not an object. Do either of you care to ask if I want to be pulled around?"
Cecily shook off both men's hands, took a step back, and the two of them stood apart, exchanging glares.
Darian's face was a mask of icy anger, his eyes smoldering with a rage that had yet to explode.
She couldn't guess who had provoked him this time.
Cecily took a deep breath, vividly recalling someone's words—'I will absolutely not come looking for you again'
Lost in thought, Cecily's world suddenly went dark, and with a thud, she fell forward.
"Cecily——"
"Cecily!"
Two voices rang out simultaneously, two pairs of hands reaching out to catch her falling body.
"Get away!" Darian scooped up the woman in his arms, not hesitating to shove Blaise's hand aside.
Holding her, Darian's expression changed drastically as he touched her forehead and discovered it was burning hot.
When he had held her hand just moments ago, he had felt her abnormal body temperature, but he hadn't realized she was actually running a fever.
With Cecily in his arms, Darian turned and headed toward the car.
Blaise narrowed his eyes but didn't compete with Darian. A touch of self-reproach flickered in his eyes.
He had thought the woman was acting strangely due to being drugged, not realizing she was genuinely ill.
He should’ve taken her to the hospital for a check-up.
...
"She just fainted. Check on her condition."
In the hospital room, a doctor approached at the low, stern request of the man.
The doctor immediately began to examine Cecily. After checking her breathing and pupil response, the doctor reached to loosen her clothes as the man beside them quickly took hold of the doctor's hand, his eyes cold and questioning, "What are you doing?"
The doctor, taken aback by the man's wary demeanor, trembled slightly, nearly forgetting his intended actions.
"I'm examining her."
"Examine, yes, but why remove her clothes?"
Stammering, the doctor quickly grabbed a stethoscope, "To listen."
Upon hearing this explanation, Darian released the doctor, his brow still furrowed, "Aren't there any female doctors?"
A nurse nearby offered, "I can call one if you need."
"No, that'll take too much time."
The doctor hesitated, "So, may I proceed?!"
As the doctor tried again to unbutton Cecily's clothing, a firm hand blocked him, "I'll do it."
Both the doctor and the nurse were speechless.
