Chapter 248 Life and Death at High Speed
"Contact information."
Cecily thought for a moment and gave the man Darian's email address.
"Who is this person?" The man asked while operating the computer.
"Why do you ask so many questions? Just send him the address here."
The man followed Cecily's instructions, pressed the send button, and turned the computer toward Cecily for confirmation.
Cecily nodded, confirming that there was no problem, and threw the key to him.
On Darian's side, he received an anonymous message with an address.
Darian looked at the address, pondered for two seconds, and, without hesitation, immediately rushed over with his men.
"How do we open it?" Cecily and the blond man had already made their way to the door. The entrance had no guards, but there was a code lock.
The house was strange. Normally, locks are placed on the outside, but here it was on the inside, and it was unclear who it was meant to protect against.
"Do you know the password?" Cecily asked the man.
"I don't know," he responded.
Cecily became anxious. "Then do you have a way out?"
"The way is something people come up with," the man replied, studying the lock.
Cecily felt uncertain about him. They couldn't afford to spend too much time at the doorway, as the patrolling guards would soon notice them.
As it turned out, Cecily was right.
The password was entered wrongly 3 times before a series of sharp alarm sounds pierced the air, loud enough to startle anyone.
At that moment, the guards patrolling the basement also discovered something was amiss. "Quick, someone's running away!" one of them shouted.
"They're at the door. Let's go after them!" In an instant, everyone rushed in their direction.
The man awkwardly met Cecily's gaze.
Cecily gritted her teeth.
"Don't look at me like that. I'm actually reliable most of the time," he said, grabbing her hand. "Follow me."
A large group of people charged toward them. The man pulled Cecily's hand as they ran toward the window. The window was made of glass, but it was sealed shut.
Without hesitation, the man threw a powerful punch, his strength behind it.
With a loud "boom," the glass shattered, instantly broken into pieces.
The man didn't waste a second. He turned around and scooped Cecily horizontally.
Before Cecily could react, he had already thrown her out of the window. "You"
Cecily landed on the lawn outside. Though not too painful, she really wanted to say that she could have jumped by herself.
Before she could stand up, the man had already jumped down at an incredible speed. Without wasting half a second, he pulled her along as they sprinted away.
Cecily finally realized that not only was this man incredibly strong, but he was also extremely fast.
Cecily usually worked out and had some agility, but at this moment, she couldn't keep up with him. She was being dragged along forcefully.
The people behind them were swiftly giving chase.
"Quick, catch them. Don't let either of them escape."
"Get on the motorboat."
This villa must be on an island, surrounded by the sea.
Cecily wasted no time and quickly followed him onto the motorboat. Luckily, the key was already inserted.
Cecily glanced back at the pursuers who were about to catch up. "Do you know how to operate this?" she asked.
"I've never driven this thing before."
"Then why did you let me get on?"
"I thought you knew how, and besides getting on the boat, we have no other choice. There's a plane over there. Would you like to try flying it? But there's no chance of survival if the plane crashes, and at best, we'll be caught if we take the boat."
Cecily felt a headache coming on.
"Shut up and get in the back," Cecily said as she started the motorboat and twisted the throttle too hard, causing the boat to shoot forward.
"Fuck!"
"Hold on, I haven't gotten on yet!" the man yelled from behind.
Cecily sighed and turned back to rescue him. He quickly reached out and grabbed Cecily's waist.
Cecily wasn't fond of physical contact with strangers, especially being held around the waist. "Don't hold on to my waist."
"Then can I hold on to your chest?"
Cecily didn't know what to say.
"Don't run! Stop!"
"They're chasing us. We're screwed," the man smiled at Cecily, seemingly unbothered by their dangerous situation, without a hint of nervousness. "Hurry up and drive, sis."
Cecily couldn't worry about that anymore and immediately started the motorboat and sped away.
Since it was her first time driving, she couldn't find the right direction and could only go forward at the fastest speed possible.
"So exciting~" Cecily desperately tried to escape while the man behind her screamed in excitement.
What kind of life was she living?
"Can you please shut up?"
"Don't you find this exciting?"
Exciting? They were about to lose their lives, and he found it exciting?
Cecily really wanted to kick this irritating person off the boat.
The people behind them were also speeding after them on their own motorboats.
Seeing that they were about to be caught up, Cecily clenched her fists and made a sharp turn, creating a large wave. However, it was clear that their pursuers had better skills than her, and Cecily couldn't shake them off.
The blond man looked helpless and tugged at his lip. "This is really troublesome. I'll deal with them for you, but you'll have to find a way to thank me in the future, understood?"
"How are you going to deal with them? Don't take any risks."
"Otherwise, neither of us will be able to escape. All I wanted was for you to save me and let me see the outside world. That's enough for me. Oh, one more thing, that Cecily wants to replace you, replace everything about you."
"Everything about me? What do you mean?"
"You're rich, incredibly wealthy, of course, that catches people's envy. And that Cecily is the most hypocritical, skilled at manipulating people's hearts. Don't be fooled by her, do you hear me?" The man muttered in her ear. "Remember my words, don't forget."
Cecily didn't know when she had become so wealthy. "I heard you."
"Then I'll be going."
"Don't take any risks."
"Don't worry, they wouldn't dare to kill me."
"What's your name?"
The man looked at Cecily's profile, his gaze darkening for a moment, and his voice suddenly sounded a bit sad. "I don't have a name. Give me one when we meet again."
After speaking, the nearby motorboat had already rushed toward Cecily, causing her pupils to shrink. The man leaped toward the motorboat.
Cecily clenched her lips, feeling a chill in her heart.
The man jumped on the motorboat and kicked a person off with one foot. Riding the motorboat, he made a beautiful turn and looked at the others with a smirk, "Don't chase after her. If you dare, come and play with me."
Most people were drawn to the man's side, but because many people were still chasing after Cecily.
On the dark sea, a life-or-death chase was taking place.
Just as Cecily was about to be caught up, the sound of propellers reverberated above her, followed by lights and several gunshots.
