Chapter 463 As Solemn as Going to a Wedding
Cecily cursed, trying to push him away.
Darian sat up, pinned her on his lap, grabbed her head, and kissed her hard.
In the quiet room, Cecily could hear the sound of his kiss.
She pushed him, but he only kissed her more intensely.
Surrounded by each other's breath, Cecily couldn't resist and gradually gave in.
Darian opened his eyes while kissing her, his deep gaze on her face, a smile forming.
After a while, he let go, gently rubbing her swollen lips with his thumb.
"If you hurt me, you would feel sorry for me. I wouldn't want that."
He sounded amused, like he had confirmed something.
Cecily chuckled. "Anyone else can feel sorry for you, but not me."
Darian hugged her tighter. "My head really hurt. Want to check it?"
Cecily's expression tightened as she checked his injury. "What kind of pain are you feeling?"
Darian leaned weakly against her chest, smiling. "It's just a throbbing pain."
"And now? Does it still hurt?"
"It's much better now."
She checked his head and found nothing wrong. When she saw that his complexion was normal, she sighed in relief. "Wait, I'll re-bandage it."
Cecily got the first aid kit, and Darian sat obediently as she tended to him.
As she finished, she looked at his handsome face and smiled mischievously.
A few minutes later.
"All done." She handed him a mirror. "Satisfied?"
Darian glanced at the mirror, then at Cecily, who was laughing hard.
"If you wanted revenge, you could've just said so."
In the mirror, his face was almost entirely wrapped up, and he looked like a mummy.
"Let's see if you dare lie to me again."
Cecily couldn't stop laughing. "Why don't you go out like this tomorrow?"
"Do you think that's appropriate?"
"I think it's great." She kept laughing.
"Then I'll go out like this, as long as you don't mind being embarrassed."
Cecily chuckled, "I do mind."
She reached out to remove the excess bandages. "Alright, enough playing. Time to sleep, go wash up."
Darian lifted her up and walked to the bathroom. "Let's wash together."
Afterward, Darian held Cecily as they lay on the bed. She hadn't slept well in days, and now, in his arms, she felt at ease.
"Goodnight."
Cecily was tired, yawning repeatedly. She nodded, rubbing her cheek against his chest. "Don't lie about your safety to trick me again."
Darian felt a pang of guilt.
He remembered how she had almost cried when she rushed into the ward.
"It won't happen again," he promised.
Cecily closed her eyes and nodded. "Goodnight."
Darian watched Cecily fall asleep in his arms, feeling relieved and content.
The next morning.
Cecily quietly went downstairs to see if Vivienne was around. Vivienne had made it clear that until Darian regained his memory and the Fitzgerald family fully accepted her, she wasn't allowed to stay with him. But now, Darian had slept in her bed.
"Morning, Mom," Cecily greeted Vivienne in the dining room.
"Come have breakfast. The kids are already at school."
"Okay." Cecily nodded and sat down, feeling Vivienne's eyes on her.
"Aren't you going to get the man in your room to come down and eat?"
Cecily was stunned.
"Call him down," Vivienne said, sipping her porridge.
Cecily pursed her lips and ran upstairs.
In the room, Darian was staring at a new men's suit. It was his size.
Did she buy it for him?
Darian smiled, eager to try it on.
As he took off his shirt, the door opened.
"Darian."
Cecily was stunned when she saw his bare upper body.
Though she'd seen it before, it still took her by surprise.
It took a few seconds for her to react. She covered her pounding heart as she backed out and closed the door.
Wait.
She'd seen it before, and she had even touched it, so why should she be shy?
Cecily re-entered the room, but Darian was already dressed.
Well, she hadn't seen enough. Who said only men could be lustful? Women couldn't resist a man with a body like his either.
"Want to see it again?" Darian chuckled as he saw her stare.
"I wouldn't mind," Cecily muttered.
Darian laughed, spreading his arms. "Then come and see for yourself."
Cecily cleared her throat. Despite her words, she was too shy to actually look. "My mom asked you to come down for breakfast."
She walked over and looked at the suit Darian was holding. "Did you get the suit?"
"Yes, is it for me?"
"Who else?" Cecily had bought the suit while shopping with Aurelie. She'd been so busy she had almost forgotten about it.
"Thank you, I really like it." Darian's eyes sparkled.
Cecily stepped forward to straighten his collar. Darian looked good in anything.
She had picked out a whole set of clothes for him, and it turned out her taste was impeccable. The suit looked perfect on Darian.
Cecily beamed. "I have good taste, don't I?"
Darian's gaze never left her. When he saw her smile, he leaned down and kissed her. "Very good."
Cecily's cheeks flushed. "Alright, let's go down for breakfast."
She linked her arm with Darian's as they went downstairs. Vivienne looked up, her eyes flickering as she gazed at them. Setting everything else aside, seeing them together left only one phrase in her mind—a perfect match.
Darian walked properly, as if he were going to a wedding.
Cecily noticed and laughed. "My mom is very gentle, you don't need to be so nervous."
