Chapter 227 Give Me Another Chance.
Cecily quickly averted her gaze. Darian, observing her flushed face, found her particularly charming. He leaned in, brushing her cheek, "Cecily, I'm a normal man. It's a natural reaction. Don't be shy."
Cecily's breath hitched. She raised her hand to cover his teasing mouth, her cheeks reddening further, "Shut up."
Darian let her hand rest there, obediently lowering his head. Cecily glared at him, "Let's see how you handle this."
Darian took her hand, holding it gently, and kissed it. Then he smiled, "You'll handle it for me."
Cecily withdrew her hand, her face now filled with anger, "Don't dream. And if you kiss me again, I'll slap you."
He chuckled, seemingly in a good mood. Regardless of what Cecily said, he remained unfazed. He leaned down, affectionately kissing her soft earlobe.
"Smack!" A crisp slap resounded, landing on Darian's face. He paused for a moment, then looked up at her, still wearing a pleased smile, "Did you enjoy that? Give me a few more."
Cecily was speechless, "Do you deserve it?"
Darian, unsure if Cecily still wanted to hit him but eager to kiss her, gently kissed her swollen lips. Then he whispered, "Cecily, I'm so happy today. Happier than ever."
"Are you happy enough to deserve a slap?" Darian chuckled softly, "Cecily, you're funny."
Cecily looked up at him, his face filled with a smile devoid of its usual dominance, only endless tenderness and affection. Cecily couldn't help but be moved, her hand at her side tightening with nervousness.
Darian embraced her gently, lovingly kissing her forehead. Then he sighed softly, "Cecily, trust me. Give me another chance, please?"
Cecily looked up, her beautiful brown eyes meeting his as if contemplating his question. Darian, observing her, couldn't help but smile.
"Darian, can you guess what I'm thinking right now?"
"Tell me."
"I feel I'm in danger. If I agree now, are you going to take the next step?"
Cecily lowered her head, glancing at their closely pressed bodies. Then she looked at him, "I'm not as strong as you. And I'm at a disadvantage. If I don't agree, will you forcefully sleep with me until I give in and beg for mercy?"
Darian's breath grew heavy, his gaze fixed on her. After all, they had been spouses for three years, and Cecily could see the desire in his eyes. His smile deepened. He loved her straightforwardness.
Cecily, seeing him staring at her in silence, raised her head and continued to look at him, "Is that what you're thinking?"
"No," Darian's voice was deep and hoarse, "I won't force you if you don't like it."
"I don't like you, so stay away from me," Cecily pushed his sturdy chest, but he didn't budge. Cecily snorted, "See, you can't do it."
Darian's expression darkened. He looked at Cecily, resembling an innocent big dog, "How about this? Don't push me away."
Cecily raised an eyebrow, "You can't do it."
"Yes, I can't do that." Darian's face was serious. His hand around her waist tightened.
Cecily paused, then smiled lightly. She didn't know if it was his expression that moved her slightly or if she was a little dazed. She wanted to say something, but she didn't.
Darian slowly bent down, his eyes fixed on her lips. Cecily reacted and turned her head to avoid him. Darian just looked at her, not forcing her.
"Even if you can't do anything else, can you let me go now?" Cecily sighed.
Darian obediently released her. As the strength left her body, she reached out to support herself on the nearby wall. Then she took a deep breath, her hand on her chest.
"It's probably because I've been relying on you for the past two months, so I didn't realize how weak my body is."
At this moment, Darian let go of her, and her body went limp. She even felt a dizziness in front of her. But this feeling only lasted for three seconds, and she regained her composure.
Darian immediately noticed her strange expression, so he reached out and held her. Then he asked nervously, "What's wrong with you?"
After Cecily recovered, she waved her hand, "It's probably because I've been resting for two months, and my body hasn't fully recovered, so I'm a bit tired. Now, I'm fine."
Darian's face immediately darkened. He no longer had the desire he had just now. He directly bent down, picked her up, and walked out quickly.
"Where are you taking me?" Cecily exclaimed, subconsciously holding onto his neck.
"I'm taking you to the hospital for a check-up."
As they walked outside, there were people coming and going. Cecily felt that their posture was extremely strange. She quickly patted Darian's shoulder, "Put me down. I've already been to the hospital before I came back, and I'm fine. I was probably just out of breath because you were pressing on me, that's all. Put me down."
"Really?" Darian asked, his voice filled with doubt.
"Yes."
"Sorry, that was my mistake."
"Then put me down."
Darian didn't let go of her but quickly walked into the elevator. "You should rest for a while."
"Where are you taking me? Rowan and Griffin are still eating here."
"Don't worry, your good friends are with them. I'll call Larkin to come and pick them up."
The elevator descended rapidly. Darian paid no attention to the others' gazes. He walked out with her in his arms. Cecily quickly buried her face in his chest.
The driver had already parked the car outside, and Darian directly carried Cecily into the car. Cecily looked at the man sitting in the car and frowned, "Where are you taking me?"
"To the hospital."
"Darian, I said I don't need to go."
"You really don't need to go to the hospital?"
"Really. I don't want to go to the hospital as soon as I come back."
Cecily casually found a reason. Darian didn't see anything unusual on her face, so he nodded, "Okay, then let's go eat."
Darian held her hand tightly, afraid she would run away if he let go.
"Can you tell me what happened in these two months? Did Blaise save you?"
"Yes," Cecily nodded, "I was poisoned, so I've been in a coma for the past two months. I don't have much to tell you. I just woke up yesterday."
"You were poisoned and in a coma?" Darian couldn't help but feel sorry, "Who did it?"
