Chapter 634: Will Make You Wish You Were Dead

Nathaniel stood downstairs, staring at the lit room, phone in hand. He answered the call, "Hello."

"Why are you giving me money? I told you, it was my mistake for misidentifying you. I don't blame you," Aurelie said.

"It's compensation," Nathaniel replied.

"I don't need your compensation. You never owed me anything. If anything, I owe you something I can never repay. What right do I have to take your money?" Aurelie had already planned to go abroad to have this child. She wanted to deal with other matters after giving birth.

But she couldn't take the money. So she went on, "Nathaniel, I'm planning to go abroad for a while. I'll return this card to you tomorrow."

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed. "How long will you be gone?"

"Not sure, maybe a year or two. By the way, I saw the news online. I haven't congratulated you yet. You were wrongfully imprisoned back then, and now you've finally cleared your name and taken over Kensington Group." Aurelie smiled.

Nathaniel's hand holding the phone felt a bit cold.

Sometimes, gaining something meant losing something else.

It took him a year to uncover the truth from back then and bring down Terry and Stanley. But when it came to making this truth public, he hesitated.

Because if he made it public, he couldn't hide what he had kept from Aurelie. He hesitated but ultimately chose revenge.

Now his revenge was complete, but he didn't feel any satisfaction because he realized he had also lost someone he cared about.

Aurelie was going abroad. What right did he have to stop her?

Besides, it wasn't safe for her to stay in Silver Frost Capital now.

"When are you leaving?" he asked.

"Tomorrow afternoon's flight."

"Alright." Nathaniel paused for a long time. Despite having a thousand things to say, he only said, "Safe travels."

"Okay." Aurelie responded softly, "I'll hang up now."

Aurelie hung up, and Nathaniel listened to the disconnect tone, his eyes filled with pain.

Cecily left Aurelie's house around nine. Nathaniel had been standing downstairs the whole time until the lights upstairs went out after ten.

He still didn't leave, seemingly wanting to wait until dawn.

The surroundings were pitch black and silent, with only a dim streetlight ahead still on.

He didn't know how long he had been there until he finished several packs of cigarettes in his car. He finally moved, he saw it was already past three.

The lights in the surrounding houses were all off, and it seemed like he was the only one left.

Nathaniel opened the car door, got in, and drove away. After driving a short distance, a black car sped past his at a corner.

At first, he didn't think much of it, but after driving a bit further, Nathaniel suddenly slammed on the brakes.

That car looked familiar. A bad feeling hit him, and he immediately turned the car around, speeding back to Aurelie's place.

He gripped the steering wheel tightly, his face tense. The car soon screeched to a halt. Nathaniel jumped out and rushed to Aurelie's floor, not wasting a second. When the elevator doors opened, he bolted out, ready to knock on her door.

But the door was ajar, and the lock had clearly been pried open.

Nathaniel's heart sank. He pushed the door open and ran inside, heading straight to the room. The place was a mess, broken glass everywhere, and Aurelie was nowhere to be seen.

Damn it.

Just then, a message popped up on his phone. It was from Stanley.

The message had a photo of Aurelie, bound and unconscious in the back seat of a car.

Nathaniel gritted his teeth.

It was Stanley, alright.

Nathaniel usually had people protecting Aurelie during the day, and he would personally stay downstairs at night, but clearly, Stanley had people watching him all the time.

They were just waiting for an opportunity to either attack him or Aurelie.

He had only left Aurelie for about ten minutes, and they had already acted so quickly.

Damn it, he had been careless.

He called Stanley, but it took a long time for Stanley to answer.

Nathaniel knew Stanley was doing it on purpose.

Nathaniel called again, and this time the call was answered. Stanley's arrogant voice came through, "Well, it is a surprise that you called me. It's so late, what's up?"

"You must be tired by staying up this late," Nathaniel sneered.

"Not at all. If you hadn't left, we could have kept waiting," Stanley's voice was filled with amusement.

"What do you want?" Nathaniel asked directly.

"I just thought Aurelie looks pretty good. I want to reward her to my men. What do you think? Should I send you a video?" Stanley's words were full of threats.

At this moment, for Nathaniel, Stanley kidnapping Aurelie was like tightening a noose around his neck, completely binding his lifeline.

Stanley's words filled Nathaniel with rage, but he had to stay calm. "You can try, but all I'll lose is a woman I once had. I might forget her after a while. But you, I'll make you wish you were dead."

"Try it then." Stanley had nothing to lose at this point. He continued, "Oh, there is one more thing you probably don't know, she's not alone..."
