Chapter 362 Then Try Removing One
Suddenly, Hayden's hand was grasped by someone. Nathaniel raised an eyebrow and asked, "Speak properly, don't lay hands on a woman."
"Nathaniel." Aurelie's eyes sparkled as she quickly grabbed Nathaniel's hand and hid behind him.
Hayden angrily shook off Nathaniel's hand and said, "Are you all crazy for women?"
Nathaniel glanced at everyone. His eyebrows raised slightly. He pulled Aurelie out from behind him. "Tell me what's going on."
Aurelie was about to speak when Hayden interjected, "Darian wants to donate his cornea to Cecily."
"Is that true?" Nathaniel asked, looking at Aurelie.
Aurelie gazed into Nathaniel's deep, emotionless eyes and nodded.
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, "Someone, break the door."
Aurelie threw his hand off. "Nathaniel, whose side are you on?"
With a slight raise of his eyebrow, his gaze fell on her flat abdomen. "How about you conjure up my child, and then I'll help you?"
Aurelie met his deep, cold gaze and guiltily covered her abdomen.
Indeed, she was not pregnant; she had just lied in a moment of desperation.
His cold, sharp eyes bore into her, exuding an overpowering presence. Aurelie's eyes flickered.
The commotion here was so great that the nurse didn't know what to do and directly called the chief doctor and the hospital director, Henry Lopez, to handle the situation.
They were all well-known figures in Silver Frost Capital. Henry recognized them at a glance and, seeing the tense atmosphere, furrowed his brow and quickly approached, "Mr. Davis, what's going on here?"
Hayden said urgently, "Perfect timing. Go inside and stop the surgery."
Henry was caught off guard as Hayden pulled him, meeting Hayden's cold, gleaming eyes in a daze.
"Stop the surgery?"
Henry was sweating profusely.
What had happened? Had his operating room offended these young masters?
"We cannot stop," Aurelie shouted, facing multiple stares.
Henry's gaze shifted back and forth among them, his face full of difficulty, "Mr. Davis, the surgery has already started; it can't be interrupted."
"You stop it right now."
"What do you intend to do?"
In the suddenly quiet air, a man's cold voice rang out, and soon a tall figure approached.
It was Blaise. "You want to interrupt the surgery?"
Hayden's eyelid twitched, a cautious look flashing in his eyes as he looked at Blaise, gritting his teeth, "Why are you here?"
Blaise chuckled lightly, "Can't you see? I'm here to stop you."
Hayden narrowed his eyes, "Just you alone?"
"Just me alone is enough to deal with you."
His calm words dealt a heavy blow to Hayden's pride.
Blaise's cold gaze swept over the tightly closed door of the operating room. It had been more than half an hour; the outcome was already inevitable.
Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor.
Owen, with his impaired leg, almost ran the entire way with a cane, followed by a group of bodyguards.
Owen's face was stern, his old eyes full of anger and anxiety.
Henry, seeing Owen's stance as if he was about to tear down the hospital, felt his heart tremble.
"Grandpa Owen." Hayden and Declan immediately walked over.
Owen was trembling with anger, "Where is that unfilial son now?"
Owen never expected that Darian would make the decision to donate his cornea to Cecily.
Darian had gone crazy.
He was simply crazy for Cecily.
Hayden's eyes were deep, "He's still inside."
Owen's heart skipped a beat, "You didn't stop him?"
"There wasn't time, Grandpa Owen..."
Ignoring all else, Darian strode forward, his face stern as he glared at Henry. "I don't care how far along the surgery is. I command you to stop immediately. If anything happens to my grandson in your hospital, I will hold you accountable. I mean it."
Talking about kicking Darian out of the Fitzgerald Group was just Owen's angry words. Since Darian took over the Fitzgerald Group, it had been thriving, and the employees under him were all convinced by Darian. No one was more suitable to be the heir of the Fitzgerald Group than Darian.
Even if Darian really gave up his position, no one could take it away.
So, whether for the Fitzgerald Group or for other reasons, Owen would never let Darian make such a decision.
Blaise stood there quietly, his lips slowly curling into a cold smile, "You should have stopped Cecily from donating her kidney to Darian back then."
Owen heard the anger in this statement and turned to glance at Blaise, "That was Cecily's voluntary decision; no one forced her."
Blaise sneered, "Darian's decision is also voluntary; no one is forcing him."
Owen was momentarily speechless, "It's different."
"How is it different?"
"Removing a kidney allows her to live normally. Without corneas, how will Darian live normally? These two things are completely different."
A coldness seeped into Blaise's eyes, "Then try removing one yourself."
Living a normal life with one kidney?
He really had the nerve to say that.
How could someone with only one kidney truly be like a normal person?
After donating her kidney, Cecily's health weakened, she became easily fatigued, couldn't do heavy physical work, and her quality of life greatly declined, along with many other aftereffects only she knew.
Owen actually thought she hadn't paid a heavy price for it.
If that were true, why did he have Cecily donate a kidney to Darian in the first place? It was precisely because he knew about these aftereffects that he couldn't bear for his grandson to have any deficiencies, so he made Cecily donate hers.
Owen's face turned ugly as he said, "Don't waste time here. Even if Darian's cornea is given to Cecily today, Cecily won't leave this hospital."
"Then try and see if what you say can come true."
Owen trembled with anger and waved his hand fiercely, signaling the people behind him to force their way in and stop the surgery.
Blaise stepped to the door, his tall and upright figure like a mountain. He stood there, daring anyone to come close.
The Fitzgerald family members wanted to force their way in, but seeing the bloodthirsty expression on his face, their feet seemed rooted to the ground, unable to move.
Just as everyone was at a stalemate, clear footsteps sounded from behind.
Vivienne, accompanied by Gary, walked quickly towards them.
when he saw Vivienne, Owen's face turned even darker.
She had caused his son's death, and now her daughter was here to harm his grandson.
She and Cecily were both disasters!
"What are you here for? To see how my grandson sacrifices himself to restore your daughter's sight?"
Vivienne's face remained calm and composed, unaffected by Owen's harsh words.
A few hours ago, she received a call from Cecily, giving her an address and asking her to come to the hospital to pick her up, but Cecily didn't say much about what was happening.
Vivienne immediately rushed over, and now seeing this scene, along with Owen's words, Vivienne had a rough idea of what was going on.
"I'm here to take my daughter away."
"Fine, you tricked my grandson out of his cornea, and now you're running away, right? What a Cecily, what a Vivienne, what a Bennett family!" Mr. Fitzgerald's eyes filled with tears of anger.
What had the Fitzgerald family done to deserve encountering these two life-takers?
Vivienne clenched her fists. She stood there, her calm face showing no extra expression, and she didn't let Owen's words affect her.
She could understand Owen's pain for Darian.
But she also felt pain for Cecily.
