Chapter 389 A Fight, and She Lost

"She got bullied?" Darian thought of Cecily's sharp mind and found it hard to imagine anyone could bully her.

"Yeah, Daddy, let's go check on Mommy. She's so pitiful." Griffin said, tugging at Darian's hand and pulling him outside.

Rowan kindly reminded, "Daddy, you need to be more proactive, or else someone might take Mommy away. Lots of people are after her, you know."

Darian's long eyebrows arched slightly, not taking the words seriously at the moment.

He thought, 'of course, that the two kids don't understand anything.'

Cecily went to the hospital for a check-up. Her ankle was swollen, but fortunately, there was no bone injury.

With an ice pack on her ankle, Cecily leaned back on the couch, listening to Vivienne and Desmond discussing plans. It seemed Vivienne intended to stay for a while.

"Mom, are you planning to stay here for a while?"

Vivienne glanced at her swollen ankle and sighed. "Can I be at ease going back with you like this? I have to stay and take care of you."

Cecily smiled gently, wrapping her arm around Vivienne's wrist and leaning softly against her. "Mom, I love you best."

Vivienne lightly tapped her on the forehead and said, "You should have told me earlier. I would never have allowed Bryan to hurt you."

Talking about this made Vivienne angry.

Cecily had explained the whole story to Vivienne on the way back, and Vivienne remembered something else. "You said Darian lost his memory?"

Cecily's eyelashes fluttered slightly. "Yes."

"How could that happen?"

"Eliza is good at concocting harmful drugs. I suspect she had a hand in it. The only thing I can't figure out is how she managed it."

Vivienne thought of Owen's demeanor outside the operating room that day. "It was Owen."

Cecily's face tightened. "You mean Owen helped Eliza drug Darian?"

"Who else could it be? The day Darian donated his cornea to you, Owen probably dreamed of making you disappear from Darian's world."

Cecily had initially suspected Owen, but since Owen was Darian's biological grandfather, she thought he wouldn't risk Darian's health.

However, with Vivienne's reminder, Cecily was now almost certain it was him.

"Then Eliza is probably in Owen's hands now," Cecily murmured.

She wanted to find Eliza because she was the only survivor of that car accident and might know something.

Previously, Eliza had been in Darian's hands, but after Darian lost his memory, he probably didn't even remember that Eliza was alive and had undergone plastic surgery to look like her. So Cecily hadn't asked Darian about it.

Two doorbell rings sounded at the entrance, and a servant hurried to answer.

Cecily and Vivienne looked over to see Aurelie running towards Vivienne with several gift boxes. "Mrs. Vivienne."

Vivienne had just stood up when she was enveloped in a hug, and she did not push Aurelie away.

"How did you know I was at Silver Frost Capital?" Vivienne asked with a smile.

Aurelie laughed. "Cecily told me. I came right away to see you, and I brought you a little something."

Vivienne pulled Aurelie to sit down. "Thank you. ."

"I came at mealtime on purpose to mooch a meal off you."

Vivienne chuckled and said, "Alright, the kitchen is already preparing food. I'll have them add a few dishes you like. You two go ahead and chat."

"Thank you, Mrs. Vivienne. You're the best."

Aurelie noticed Cecily's ankle with the ice pack and asked, "Cecily, are you hurt?"

"I twisted it accidentally. I've already had it checked out. It's nothing serious."

As they were talking, there was another knock at the door.

Who else could it be?

Before the servant could open the door, Rowan and Griffin's voices came from the entrance. "Mommy, Grandma, we're here."

The servant opened the door, and they ran in. "Mommy, Ms. Vivienne is here too."

"Rowan and Griffin? How did you get here?"

Griffin said, "Daddy said he missed Mommy and insisted on bringing us, so here we are."

Darian had just walked in and heard Griffin's words, pausing in his steps.

Cecily's eyes flickered slightly as she saw the tall, upright figure at the door.

'Darian missed me? Insisted on finding me?' she wondered. She might have believed it before, but now it was clear that Griffin, the little rascal, had made it up.

However, Darian didn't seem to mind and didn't correctit. He walked straight towards her, his deep eyes falling on her ankle still with the ice pack. Although the swelling had gone down considerably, the red ring around it made his brow furrow slightly.

"You got into a fight?"

Cecily looked up and replied, "Yes, and I lost."

"Is that all you're capable of?"

Seeing them talk, Aurelie quietly took Rowan and Griffin to the kitchen.

Darian bent down and squatted beside her, holding her foot. Cecily looked down, seeing his dark head lower slightly to examine her ankle.

"It hurts. Be gentle," Cecily's voice was soft, with a hint of coquettishness.

Darian lightened his touch, glancing at her. "Tell me the truth. How did you get hurt?"

"What? Do you want to avenge me?"

Darian looked at her deeply.

Cecily's expression was gloomy. "Actually, my mom already avenged me. It was about last night. Freya's my mom's husband's daughter."

"She's your sister?"

"No, the relationship is complicated. She's just my mom's husband's daughter in name. His daughter was wronged, and he wanted to get back at me, so I ended up like this."

Cecily's tone was tinged with bitterness.

Darian responded in a low voice, "Do you need surveillance footage?"

Cecily blinked and asked, "Did you check the stairwell's surveillance footage last night?"
