Chapter 231 The Lost Crystal Pendant

"Here, take it back," Darian said.

Blaise raised an eyebrow. "You've been investigating me."

Darian looked at him. "I guessed it."

Darian had never stopped suspecting Blaise for the past two months, so he kept a close eye on him, even noticing the large sum of money transferred from his account. Twenty billion US dollars was not a small amount, enough to buy a mansion or other luxurious items, yet there was no increase in Blaise's assets. What he had spent it on remained unknown.

Coincidentally, those were the days when Cecily had been missing for three days. Adding to that, Cecily claimed she had been poisoned, and the poison was unique. Darian suspected that the money had been spent on Cecily.

Since the money was spent on Cecily, Darian felt obliged to return it.

"Hah," Blaise smirked and laid a check on the table. "And what makes you think you have the right to repay it on her behalf?"

"I'm her husband," Darian said seriously.

Blaise straightened slightly. "No, you answered wrong."

Blaise got up, ready to leave.

"I was her husband before, and I will be in the future," a cold voice echoed in the quiet room.

A smile appeared on Blaise's face. "You truly have no shame."

"You can take the money," Darian added. "But if she finds out that you spent this money on her, she will do everything in her power, even selling the house, the car, the company, to pay you back."

That was how Cecily was. When she borrowed money from him and had to send it over, she even got blacklisted by him.

Twenty billion US dollars was just a string of numbers to Blaise. Once it was given away, he didn't care.

But for Cecily, it was precious. She would probably be willing to sell everything she owned just to repay him.

In Cecily's eyes, it was too much for a friend to spend such a sum on her behalf.

Blaise turned to the side, took the money, and left.

Darian stood up from the empty conference room and walked out. Larkin approached him and reported that Tabitha had gone to find Cecily.

Darian frowned. "Is she okay?"

"Cecily is fine. Our person was with her the whole time. However, Boss Cecily has returned. The Flore's Family is probably causing trouble at Mr. Fitzgerald's place."

The Flore's Family had been trying to save Ophelia for the past two months.
But obviously, Darian didn't want them to find anyone, and they couldn't find anyone to begin with.

They couldn't find her, but Mr. Fitzgerald knew very well that Ophelia was locked in the underground dungeon of Fitzgerald's Family backyard.

It's just that Mr. Fitzgerald, on the one hand, was angry and, on the other hand, had nothing to hold Darian back, so he didn't bother with Ophelia.

Now that Cecily is back, Cecily is Darian's weak spot, and Mr. Fitzgerald doesn't really want to antagonize Flore's Family, so he will definitely step in to save Ophelia. If Darian continues to press on, Mr. Fitzgerald will likely resort to his previous tactics.

The expression on Darian's face deepened, and after a moment of contemplation, he said, "Go tell Mr. Fitzgerald that if he wants Ophelia to come out, he shouldn't stop Cecily from seeing her child."

Both he and Mr. Fitzgerald made a compromise and stepped back.

Cecily returned to Watson's Family and walked into the living room.

Upon hearing the door open, Cecily, who was lying on the sofa, lazily called out, "Mom, you're back?"

Cecily looked towards the direction of the voice, and Elysia happened to lift her head.

Elysia instantly sat up from the sofa, looking anxiously at Cecily, "Sister, you're not dead?"

Elysia covered her mouth, fear in her eyes.

Cecily was not surprised to see Elysia. The people in Watson's Family thought she was dead, but Elysia had the ability to get her out of prison.

"Where's Mrs. Watson?" Cecily didn't want to talk to her much.

Although Cecily knew that Elysia was manipulated by Ophelia throughout the process and took the blame for her, she did have the bad intention of harming her child and willingly let herself be used by others.

She didn't have time to deal with her now. As long as she didn't cause trouble for her anymore, Cecily would pretend she didn't exist.

Elysia pointed upstairs in a daze, "Grandmother is upstairs."

Cecily walked up quickly. As soon as she left, Elysia immediately called Raphael and Liora, "Dad, Cecily is actually not dead."

Cecily reached the door of Mrs. Watson's room and lightly knocked. It was only when Mrs. Watson said, "Come in," that Cecily walked in.

Mrs. Watson was sitting on a recliner by the floor to ceiling window, wearing reading glasses and calmly knitting something. The sunlight fell on her, enveloping her in a warm halo.

Mrs. Watson looked up, and her gaze fell on Cecily. Her fingers paused, and she sat up, looking at her in disbelief. "Cecily?"

Cecily walked over. "Grandmother."

When Mrs. Watson saw Cecily, she became so excited that she almost stood up. "Cecily, is it really you?"

"I had an incident two months ago that caused you to worry," Cecily said.

Mrs. Watson lovingly touched Cecily's face. "It's good to see that you're okay, as long as you're okay."

Cecily gently smiled and pursed her lips. "Besides wanting to see you today, there's something else."

Cecily was not one to beat around the bush, so she spoke straightforwardly.

"Before my mother passed away, she left a crystal pendant for you to give to me when I got married. But at that time, you didn't give it to me. This crystal pendant is very important, and today, I suddenly thought of it. I wanted to ask if it is still here, and I want to take it with me today."

Because Cecily was very young when her mother passed away, she only found out about the crystal pendant much later. The Watson Family took all the things her mother left behind under the pretext of safekeeping.

Mrs. Watson's gaze flickered, and she lowered her head to fiddle with the yarn in her hands before asking, "Why are you suddenly asking about this?"

"I just thought about it. Grandma, where did you put it?"

Mrs. Watson looked up at her and put down what she was holding. "Cecily, I won't hide it from you. I accidentally lost that crystal pendant, and I still haven't found it."

"Lost?" Cecily frowned.

"Yes, it's all my carelessness. I had put it in the safe deposit box, but somehow it disappeared. Cecily, is it important to you?"

Mrs. Watson looked at Cecily guiltily.

Cecily didn't know how important that crystal pendant was, but she knew that if her mother wanted to give it to her, there must be a reason. How could it have been lost?

Cecily looked at Mrs. Watson skeptically. "Grandma, has anyone strange come to the house?"

In theory, there should be no reason for Mrs. Watson's belongings in the safe deposit box to disappear without a cause.

Mrs. Watson looked troubled. "No strange person has come. It's all my fault for not keeping it properly. Cecily, shall I compensate you with money?"

"No, Grandma," Cecily refused. The importance of that crystal pendant couldn't be measured in terms of money.
"What do we do now, Cecily? I'm sorry," Mrs. Watson said, feeling guilty.

Cecily didn't know what to say when she saw Mrs. Watson like that. It wouldn't be right to blame an old person.

"Oh, Cecily, do you remember your mother leaving you a leather suitcase before?" Mrs. Watson pretended to remember and asked casually suddenly.
