Chapter 94 Truth Revealed

Tabitha huffed loudly, shrugging off Tristan's hand and striding into the room.

Tristan glanced at the two and then set his menacing gaze on Cecily, lingering for a few seconds before he too entered the room.

Cecily, with an expressionless face, lowered her gaze and wiped away the tear that had fallen from her eyes.

Darian frowned, gave Cecily a look, said nothing, and turned to walk into the room.

Ophelia had been treated for her injuries and was still feverish, weakly leaning into Tabitha's embrace and softly sobbing. "Mom, it hurts so much, I'm so scared, I couldn't get away, I really thought I was going to die..."

Tabitha held her daughter close, eyes brimming with tears. "I know, I know, Ophelia, don't worry. I'll never let the person who hurt you get away with it. They'll pay the price."

Ophelia shivered and wept, "I don't understand why Ms. Cecily hates me so much. I didn't do anything, and she hit me. And it wasn't enough for her to just hit me. She had to throw me into that awful place to fend for myself. What did I ever do to her?"

Ophelia cried miserably and pitifully, as if the whole world had wronged her.

Darian frowned deeply. "Are you sure you haven't done anything?"

He knew Cecily well enough; she was not one to start conflicts. If Ophelia had truly done nothing, Cecily wouldn't have laid a hand on her.

However, if Ophelia had provoked her, Darian wouldn't be surprised by Cecily retaliating.

After all, this woman was like a porcupine, not hesitating to lash out even at him, let alone Ophelia.

He wouldn't mind if it was little scuffle, and a lesson here and there. However, causing serious injury was crossing the line.

Staring down at her with a stern expression, Ophelia quivered and shook her head vigorously. "I didn't, I really didn't do anything, I swear, Darian."

Darian simply said in a deep voice, "Someone's already looking into what happened through the surveillance."

Ophelia bit her lower lip and nodded. "Okay."

Even if Darian did find out something, there was nothing he could do. The one who had hit Cecily with the car was Elysia, and she had only been in the passenger seat. It was not her fault, no matter how one looked at it.

Tabitha, hearing this conversation, was far from pleased. "Darian, do you still not trust Ophelia? Is she likely to falsely accuse that wretched girl?"

"The truth will come out," Darian stated with a gravelly voice. "And watch your language."

Seeing Darian's angry look, Tabitha swallowed the words she was about to say.

Fine. They would wait for the investigation's result. However, once it was out, she was determined to go and make a thorough complaint to Grandpa Owen.

Suddenly, there was a loud bam from downstairs.

The double doors were kicked open, and a group of men dressed in black streamed in, quickly surrounding the place.

The man trailing at the back wore a black trench coat, his handsome features marred with malice. He climbed the stairs, a terrifying intent to kill emanating from him, his gaze as piercing as an arctic wind, steadily freezing its victims.

The not-so-subtle noise immediately attracted the attention of everyone inside the house. Larkin's body tensed up as he hurried to Darian's side. "Mr. Fitzgerald, it's Blaise."

Darian's cold eyes narrowed, his expression chilling enough to seep into one's bones. "He's got some nerve to barge into my place."

Darian walked out to confront him, and as their eyes met, the chill between them seemed to clash mid-air, dropping the room's temperature to freezing point.

"Blaise?" Cecily blinked, not hesitating to move toward Blaise, but in the next moment, Darian's tall frame blocked her path.

Tabitha and Tristan also stepped forward, disbelief in Tabitha's eyes. Someone dared to intrude the Fitzgerald's territory. This person must have a death wish.

Blaise's gaze was somber as he looked at Darian, his face a canvas of bloodthirst. "I took her. It has nothing to do with Cecily. She's innocent. If you want revenge, come at me."

Cecily stopped in her tracks, shocked that Blaise had taken Ophelia.

Darian's face turned even darker.

Upon hearing this, Tabitha's anger surged, and she stepped forward. "You? Why harm my daughter? What has she done to you?"

"She knows what she did. You all should be grateful that I didn't send her straight to the afterlife," Blaise retorted, the venom in his voice palpable. Tabitha, feeling the terrifying pressure, found herself unable to voice her next words.

Ophelia, hearing the commotion, had someone help her out of the room. Her eyes found the man, and her heart skipped a beat, fear making her step back as she stuttered, "You!"

"Mom, Dad." Ophelia clutched at her parents in a panic, her voice faltering. "He... he's the one I told you about, the one who attacked me that night."

At this revelation, Tristan's expression tightened. As Tabitha was about to speak, Tristan cut her off, causing her to look at him angrily. "What are you doing?"

"Be quiet. His identity is no simple matter."

Just now, he heard Larkin call him Blaise, hoping he wasn't the person from his memories.

Tabitha wore a skeptical look. "No matter how complicated his identity, we don't need to be afraid of him, do we?"

Tristan shook his head. Those who could say such a thing had never seen how terrifying he could be.

Tabitha was still dismissive. No matter how capable the man was, he couldn't possibly surpass the Flores family, and anyone who harmed her daughter would pay the price.

"Mr. Fitzgerald," Larkin stepped forward and handed the latest investigation results to Darian.

Darian raised his hand to take the tablet, his gaze icy as he watched the footage. A car suddenly sped toward Cecily with such velocity that, had it hit her, Cecily would have undoubtedly been killed. His heart tightened as he watched.

Fortunately, Cecily managed to dodge in time, and it was clear the car had done it on purpose. Following that, Ophelia and Elysia got out and incessantly mocked Cecily, prompting Cecily's anger and her subsequent reprimand.

After teaching them a lesson, Cecily walked away. The very next second, a car stopped and pulled the two women in.

Ophelia and Elysia had maliciously tried to hit Cecily with their car, and that had sparked the conflict. Within those tense few minutes of the altercation, Cecily had no time to arrange for people.

Clearly, it was Blaise who learned about the incident and took revenge on behalf of Cecily, who was oblivious to his intervention.

The conversation among the three of them in the video was crystal clear to everyone listening.

Darian's brows tightened, and his gaze was like an ice blade fixed on Ophelia. "Her life is only worth two million in your eyes?"
