Chapter 9

This was, after all, Darian's territory. It would be exceedingly difficult for them to escape.

"Mommy, don't worry, look at this!" Griffin thrust something into Cecily's hand.

Cecily glanced at it; it was a car key. She looked at Griffin in shock. "Where did you get this?"

"I took it from Darian. There are bodyguards all over downstairs; we can't get out. But if we take Darian's car, no one will dare stop us."

Cecily was glad that Griffin was so smart.

"Then let's go quickly."

"Wait." Griffin crouched by the window, peering outside. He only felt relieved when he saw a car arrive at the villa's entrance and a small figure quickly run inside.

Everything was going according to his plan.

Griffin opened his laptop again.

"Griffin, what are you doing?"

"I'm sending them a little surprise." Griffin's handsome face broke into a sly smile.

After he finished everything, Griffin closed the laptop with satisfaction.

"It's done. Mommy, follow me. I've observed how to avoid the bodyguards."

Griffin led Cecily out, taking advantage of the darkness. They crouched low, dodging and hiding, finally reaching the garage.

When they found the car, Cecily held Griffin as they got in without delay and drove out.

Once they were outside, Cecily immediately turned on the car's high beams.

The high beams shone into the bodyguards' faces, the blinding light preventing them from seeing who was inside. But when they saw it was Darian's car, they didn't dare stop it and let it pass.

Rowan, who had just returned to the villa, saw them leave successfully. Then, he crouched low and sneaked back to his room.

Soon, the lights in the villa came on, and everything seemed to return to normal.

Darian ordered the bodyguards to search every corner of the villa, but they couldn't find Cecily.

She had escaped again!

Darian's face was dark and terrifying. "How did she manage to get out?"

"The bodyguards at the gate said that someone drove your car out ten minutes ago. They thought it was you, so they didn't stop it," Larkin said, trembling with fear.

"Damn it."

Darian's face turned ashen, his temples throbbing with anger.

"Bring her back at all costs."

She thought she could run? Not so easily!

"Yes, I'll go immediately." Larkin dared not delay.

At this moment, Cecily hurriedly returned home with Griffin. Without asking too many questions, Cecily booked plane tickets while packing important items, stuffing them into a suitcase.

"Griffin, I'm sending you to stay with Blaise for a few days. Once I have everything arranged, I'll come back for you, okay?"

Griffin blinked his innocent big eyes. "Mommy, why are you so afraid of that bad daddy?"

Cecily paused slightly, a flash of pain in her eyes. She took a deep breath and angrily said, "He's domineering, ruthless, and unreasonable. The most crucial thing is...

"I can't beat him, so I have to run."

A smiled tugged at Griffin's lips.

Cecily continued packing, and then the phone rang. She glanced at it and answered.

"Cecily, did you need something?"

"Aurelie, Darian found me. I'm planning to stay in Mamary for a while."

Aurelie gasped in shock. "What happened? How did he find you? Are you okay? What about Griffin?"

"We're fine. It's a long story. Darian doesn't know about Griffin yet, so I'm planning to send Griffin to Blaise. That way, even if he finds me, he won't find Griffin."

"Then you..." Aurelie was deeply worried. "Cecily, why don't you come back to Silver Frost Capital?"

Cecily was taken aback.

Return to Silver Frost Capital?

Aurelie continued, "Cecily, you can't hide from Darian forever. Besides, Star Rise Group needs you! Silver Frost Capital is your battlefield."

Cecily fell silent at Aurelie's words.

Aurelie was right.

She couldn't hide forever! If Darian never let her go, would she run for the rest of her life?

Impossible!

Aurelie sighed and continued, "You asked me to take care of Matilda. Matilda hasn't been well lately, and she talks about you often. Cecily, I think you should come back."

Cecily paused, and when she thought about Matilda, a wave of guilt surged in her heart.

After a long while, Cecily firmly said, "I'll come back."

Aurelie cheerfully exclaimed, "That's great. What about Griffin? What will you do with him?"

Cecily crouched down to look at Griffin.

Darian would definitely be looking for her during this time. She couldn't take Griffin with her and risk it. She absolutely couldn't let Darian know about Griffin's existence!

"I'll make arrangements for Griffin."

"Alright, call me when you arrive at Silver Frost Capital airport, and I'll come pick you up."

"Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Cecily looked at Griffin with a flicker in her eyes, pursing her lips, and gently said, "Griffin, I need to go back to Silver Frost Capital, but you have to stay with Blaise for a while."

Griffin could see that Cecily was in a hurry, so he didn't ask many questions and agreed immediately. "Okay, Mommy, don't worry. I will be good."

Cecily looked at her sensible son, her eyes stinging with emotion. "You're the best, Griffin. Once things settle down, I'll come get you."

"Alright, I'll do whatever you say, Mommy."

Cecily hugged Griffin tightly. Without further delay, she took Griffin to Blaise's place. Half an hour later, she arrived at the airport with her suitcase.

Meanwhile, on Darian's side, Larkin quickly tracked Cecily down.

"Boss, Miss Watson is at the airport now."

Darian raised his hand to pinch his brow. He hadn't slept for several days, and now his head was throbbing with pain.

He looked up. "Stop her, no matter where she's going!"

"But Boss, Miss Watson's flying to Silver Frost Capital."

Darian's deep eyes narrowed, a hint of confusion flashing in them. "She's going back to Silver Frost Capital? She's quite bold."

"Then should we still stop her, Boss?"

Darian raised his hand, his cold, thin lips curling slightly. "Forget it."

Since she was returning to Silver Frost Capital, she couldn't escape his control.

"We're going back too."

"Tonight?"

"Yes."

"Understood. I'll make the arrangements."

"Where's Rowan?"

"Mr. Rowan Fitzgerald has been in his room. The servants said he asked for a computer and hasn't come out since. He's probably asleep now."

"I see. You may go."

Darian stood up, overlooking the scenery outside the window.

He thought, 'Cecily, you can't escape me! We'll meet in Silver Frost Capital.'
