Chapter 568: Excuse me, is the wedding still on?

Evander squeezed Cecily's hand tighter, not saying a word.

Cecily blinked, caught off guard but kinda got it.

No wonder Josep was chillin' like a villain today.

Dude had it all planned out.

Cecily's eyes wandered over to Josep in the crowd.

Josep's eyes were all smug, staring Percy down.

His face was basically shouting, 'Yeah, I did it.'

'What a jerk!'

Percy was so mad, his face went dark.

Evander frowned and looked at Cecily, "What's happening?"

Cecily shrugged, feeling blindsided and helpless.

But she kept her cool, eyeing the noisy crowd.

If this was just on their phones, folks might whisper and laugh. But now, with it up on the big screen, everyone was hyped for the drama.

"That's not Mommy." As soon as the video started, Blaise hustled Griffin and Rowan outside.

"Are they blind? The woman on the screen ain't our Mommy." Griffin fumed, hands on his hips.

"Someone's framing our Mommy. We gotta help her." Rowan frowned hard.

Just as Griffin and Rowan were about to charge back in, Blaise grabbed them, "Hold up."

"But Mommy's getting trashed. That's not Mommy, but the woman who did plastic surgery. Mommy's way prettier." Griffin was about to blow a fuse.

A face could be fake, but plastic surgery could't make real elegance.

They could tell right away, but the clueless crowd inside couldn't.

Inside, the room buzzed with mocking and jeering.

Percy, leaning on a cane, hobbled onto the stage, fuming, "Who played this? Turn it off."

Reporters swarmed around Cecily and Evander, firing off questions, "Miss Watson, any comment on this video?"

"Miss Watson, what's your relationship with the guy in the video?"

"Miss Watson, with this video dropping on your wedding day, can we assume your private life is a mess?"

"Miss Watson, please respond."

Bryan and Evander quickly shielded Cecily. Bryan's face darkened, "What kind of questions are these? That's not Cecily in the video."

"Mr. Whitaker, are you blind? Can't you see the high-def image? Or are you just in denial?" The reporters weren't buying it.

"Yeah, do you think we're idiots? The person in the video is Cecily. She's got a messy private life and won't own up to it?"

"What's the point of denying it? The video's proof."

Bryan looked at Cecily. He knew the person in the video couldn't be her.

"Everyone, shut up." Percy grabbed the emcee's mic and yelled.

The situation had caught everyone off guard.

Bella, Karen, and Landon were already on their feet. Karen quickly got on stage to calm things down, "Everyone, chill. There must be some mix-up with this video."

"Mix-up? The video's right here. What mix-up could there be?" someone mocked loudly, "Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood, are you so into this daughter-in-law that you're fooling yourselves?"

A burst of laughter erupted.

Karen, who was all about keeping up appearances, turned red as she watched the video. She shot a look at Cecily and demanded, "Cecily, what the hell is this? If you don't wanna marry Evander, just say so. Why pull this stunt?"

This was a total embarrassment for the Lockwood family.

Karen had thought Cecily was a good girl, but this video flipped her opinion upside down.

Karen couldn't keep up the friendly act anymore.

Percy was even more pissed. He never saw this coming at what was supposed to be the perfect wedding.

This not only wrecked the wedding but also dragged the Lockwood name through the mud.

Percy tried to stay cool, but he couldn't, "Cecily, I need answers. What’s going on?"

Seeing Percy’s furious face, Cecily smirked inside.

She thought he’d keep it together for the wedding’s sake.

Guess his patience had limits.

"Honestly, I have no clue what's happening." Cecily grabbed a mic and spoke clearly.

She was being real. The woman in the video wasn’t her, and she was seeing it for the first time. How could she explain it?

Even if she said it wasn’t her, would they buy it?

Percy clenched his fists, trying hard to keep his cool. He told himself to chill, finish the wedding, and deal with the mess later.

But how could he keep it together?

Everyone had seen it. Tons of people were watching, and the video was online, seen by thousands. How could he keep it together?

Seeing everyone’s mocking eyes, Percy felt like he was losing it.

"Cecily, have you no shame? Even if you don’t, the Lockwood family does." Percy yelled at Cecily.

He felt utterly humiliated.

From now on, wherever he went, people would mock him for picking such a daughter-in-law.

In his rage, Percy suddenly spotted a figure in the crowd. It was Josep, who was grinning smugly at him.

Percy suddenly put two and two together.

Cecily had been kidnapped by Josep that night and came back the next day looking rough.

It happened that night.

He had wondered why Josep let Cecily go so easily.

It turned out he filmed this video and then let Cecily go because he knew this video alone could wreck the wedding.

It would make them reject Cecily.

So that’s how it was.

Thinking this, everything clicked for Percy.

He got even angrier, realizing Cecily knew what happened that night.

But she came back and said nothing, hiding it from them and still planning to marry Evander, but they didn’t expect the video to drop at the wedding.

Fool, an utter fool.

If she had told them that night, he could have done something to stop it. But now, how could he do that?

The reporters kept swarming Cecily.

But with bodyguards around, they couldn’t get close to her.

"Miss Watson, is that all you got? Your explanation is weak."

"Yeah, Miss Watson, how could you not know about something you did yourself? Are you kidding?" The reporters pressed.

Cecily calmly pressed her lips together and looked at Darian in the crowd.

Darian nodded at her.

Just a silent exchange, but they got each other’s intentions.

Cecily didn’t answer the reporters’ relentless questions.

She took the mic and looked at the fuming Percy, "Uncle Percy, I got a question for you."

Percy was too mad to speak.

"Is the wedding still on?" She asked.
