Chapter 633: Congratulations, You've Successfully Avenged

"Are you sure about this price?" Darian asked, genuinely surprised by the number Nathaniel had thrown out.

Nathaniel had set the acquisition price ridiculously low.

Even though Kensington Group was on the brink of bankruptcy, it was still worth way more than what Nathaniel was asking.

"How about adding another $1.1 billion?" Nathaniel said, taking a casual sip of his drink.

Even if Nathaniel didn't have to pay back the $1.1 billion, Darian would still be making a killing.

"Feels like I'm ripping you off," Darian said, knowing full well what Nathaniel was up to, but still shocked at how little he seemed to care about Kensington Group.

"Then just think of it as ripping me off," Nathaniel replied, raising his glass to Darian before downing his drink in one go.

He stood up. "I'm out. I'll hit you up to sign the contract once it's ready."

As Nathaniel left Fitzgerald Group, his phone buzzed. It was Terry again.

Terry had been blowing up his phone for days, but Nathaniel had been ignoring him, doing his own thing.

Terry was losing it.

Word was, he'd fainted a few times and had been in and out of the hospital, looking like he was on his last legs.

Nathaniel swiped to answer.

The second he picked up, Terry's furious voice blasted through the phone, "You bastard, what do you get out of ruining Kensington Group? Tell me!"

Nathaniel held the phone away until Terry's rant was over, then chuckled. "Oh, it makes me really happy."

"You should die! You promised to spare Kensington Group, to spare me and Stanley, but you lied," Terry shouted.

"Oh, I was just messing with you, and you actually bought it," Nathaniel sneered.

He had promised, but he never said he'd keep his word.

"Nathaniel! My biggest regret in life is having you," Terry's voice was raw from shouting, like he wanted to reach through the phone and strangle Nathaniel.

"If you regret it so much, you should've castrated yourself. Your lack of self-control led to me, and here we are."

After Nathaniel said that, there was a bunch of frantic noise on the other end, followed by a heavy thud.

"Terry, Terry! Call an ambulance, Terry fainted again!" someone yelled.

Listening to the chaos on the other end, Nathaniel hung up, feeling pretty satisfied.

After leaving Fitzgerald Group, Nathaniel headed over to Aurelie's place. Ever since that incident, he hadn't seen her, and she hadn't come out either.

He hadn't seen Aurelie leave her house in ages. If it weren't for Cecily keeping him updated, he would've thought something bad had happened to her.

Many nights, after wrapping up his stuffs late, Nathaniel would stand outside her building, staring up at her window. He'd stay there until her light went out, but he never had the guts to go in.

Tonight was no different.

"Why don't you go in?" Cecily asked as she got out of her car and saw Nathaniel standing there, smoking, with a pile of cigarette butts at his feet.

It was obvious he'd been there for a while.

"She might not want to see me," Nathaniel said with a bitter smile.

Truth was, he was too scared to go in.

Cecily walked up to him. She'd been following the news and knew Kensington Group was on the brink of bankruptcy, thanks to Nathaniel. "Congrats on your successful revenge," she said.

Nathaniel gave a wry smile, stubbed out his cigarette, and handed Cecily a bank card. "Can you give this to Aurelie for me?"

Cecily glanced at it but didn't take it. "Why don't you give it to her yourself?"

"If I give it to her, she won't accept it," Nathaniel explained.

"And if I give it to her, she will? She's not dumb; she'll know it's from you," Cecily said.

"Even so, please give it to her. She was with me for so long and even carried my child. I owe her this much." Nathaniel's eyes were filled with sorrow, his hand still outstretched.

Mentioning Aurelie's child made Cecily's expression change, but Nathaniel didn't notice.

Back then, Cecily knew Nathaniel was deceiving Aurelie, but she couldn't tell her. Now, with Aurelie hiding the child from Nathaniel, she couldn't tell him either.

Cecily was stuck in a tough spot. She could see they both had feelings for each other, but they hadn't figured it out yet. She couldn't interfere; it was their mess to sort out.

Looking at the bank card, Cecily hesitated but finally took it. Whether Aurelie accepted it or not was up to her; Cecily couldn't refuse on her behalf.

"I'll give it to her, but whether she accepts it or not is up to her," Cecily said.

"Thank you."

Cecily handed the bank card to Aurelie, and as expected, Aurelie immediately guessed it was from Nathaniel. She held the card, hesitated for a moment, and then called Nathaniel.
