Chapter 659 Can you tell me why you got divorced?

Cecily cleared her throat awkwardly and locked eyes with Darian. "Did you bring me here just to explain this?"

Darian replied seriously, "This is important."

"I wasn't mad at all." Cecily gave a helpless smile, wondering if her earlier expression had scared Darian, making him so nervous. "You don't need to explain."

"You're really not mad?" Darian asked.

"Of course not, it was just a small misunderstanding. I'm not that easy to anger." Cecily draped her slender arm over Darian's shoulder and smiled gently. "Also, Darian, thanks for helping me look for Vivienne. I'm really touched."

"Then give me a kiss." Darian's gaze fell on Cecily's face, looking at her deeply.

Cecily was blushed, "Stop it, there are people around."

Darian looked around, then said, "There's no one."

"Let's go." Cecily pushed away his hand that was propped up beside her and tried to leave. Darian raised his hand and grabbed her as she was about to escape. He leaned forward, and Cecily quickly raised her hand to press against Darian's chest, but Darian had already leaned down, capturing her lips in a kiss.

Her body took a step back, pressing against the wall behind her, with nowhere to retreat.

With the surroundings quiet and empty, Cecily became bolder. She released her hand from his chest and wrapped it around his neck.

After the kiss, Cecily leaned against Darian's chest, panting lightly. Every time they kissed, he acted as if he wanted to devour her, only letting her go when she couldn't take it anymore.

Still leaning against Darian, he reached out and ruffled her hair, his voice cheerful, "Let's go."

"Wait."

"What is it?" Darian was confused.

Cecily lowered her head a bit awkwardly, her cheeks reddening further, and said weakly, "I can't feel my legs."

Darian smiled, bent down, and picked her up. "You need to work on your stamina."

Cecily lightly punched Darian's chest and glared at him, "It's because you kissed for too long, as if you wanted to eat me up, and now you said it was my problem?"

Darian carried her out, chuckling silently, "It's because you're too charming."

"So it's my fault?" Cecily smiled.

"It's my fault. I'll hold back until we get home." Darian placed Cecily in the car, leaned in, and gently kissed her palm as a gesture of comfort.

Cecily huffed lightly, turned her head coquettishly, and sat properly, "Take me to the office. I haven't finished my work from this morning."

"Alright, call me when you're done, and I'll come pick you up."

"Okay." Cecily nodded.

Cecily went to the office, and Darian had other matters to do.

On the phone, Darian asked Larkin, "Have you found him?"

Larkin replied, "Not yet. Wade has been missing since he left Silver Frost Capital. It will take some time to find him."

"He's in Detroit. He won't leave. Keep looking," Darian instructed.

"Got it," Larkin replied.

Cecily stayed at the office until noon. When she ran into Giselle, she noticed Giselle seemed less enthusiastic than in the morning, her face tense and looking quite displeased.

Cecily didn't care much about how others treated her. She focused on her own work. At 5:30 PM, Darian personally drove to the office to pick Cecily up.

Cecily got Darian's call and walked into the elevator with her phone in hand, coincidentally meeting Giselle inside.

"Cecily," Giselle greeted her politely.

Cecily nodded and responded with a polite smile, saying into the phone, "I'm coming down. Wait for me."

After Cecily hung up, Giselle looked at her and asked, "Cecily, is Darian here to pick you up?"

Cecily glanced back at Giselle, "Yeah."

"You two seem very sweet, but I heard you were divorced before. Cecily, why did you get divorced?" Giselle stepped forward, standing level with Cecily, and asked as if making small talk.

Cecily paused slightly and turned to look at her.

The quiet elevator wasn't just occupied by the two of them; there were also a few senior employees standing behind them. Cecily had spent the whole day at the office, and most of the senior staff knew her. Hearing this question, they all curiously looked up and perked up their ears.

Giselle didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with bringing up Cecily's private matters in public. Seeing Cecily not answering, she blinked, "Is it hard to talk about? Cecily, don't mind me, I'm just curious."

"Sorry, I do mind." Cecily smiled, her tone calm but with a noticeable hint of displeasure.

Everyone looked at the two of them.

The people in the elevator fell silent.

After a few seconds, Giselle raised an eyebrow and smiled, lightly flicking her neat short hair, and said indifferently, "Sorry, I was being presumptuous. I thought since we're cousins, we're close enough to talk about anything."

Cecily raised an eyebrow slightly, "Giselle, have you ever been in a relationship?"

Giselle was taken aback, "Yeah, what's wrong?"

"Would you mind sharing the details of your relationship? Like how it started and how it ended?" Cecily smiled.

Giselle's expression changed, and she glanced at the people behind her who were eavesdropping.

The people behind them quickly lowered their heads, pretending not to be listening.

But in such a small space, it was hard not to hear the conversation.

In the office, news spread quickly. If she said anything, the whole company would know by tomorrow.

Giselle forced a smile, "Sorry, that's my private matter."

Cecily's lips curled into a cold smile, speaking slowly, "Aren't we close cousins? Why is it hard to talk about?"
